OYO 90262 Kota Kinabalu Homestay, Villa & Suite Boutique — Hotel in Borneo

We booked this accommodation a day before we check-in, so it was really last in minute. We booked for a 4 single bed room with Rm92 a night, but we got 5 person in it. Luckily the owner is okay with that, the owner is very kind and friendly, good to talk about everything.

The place we overnight was clean overall and the toilet was also clean, just it got cobwebs in the corner. The room was a no smoking room, so the room stink.

We asked if we can do some steamboat in or outside the room, the owner was okay with it but he worries that other tenants will mind, and allow us to steamboat in the room, but we have to follow the T&C. Firstly, we have to pay another RM50 of we insist to steamboat in the room. Secondly, if we accidentally broke or burn anything inside the room we have to take responsibility for those things. But, we didn't make it at last. We're having our Mcdonald around the homestay.

This homestay got a very chilly place, which is in the second floor, the place was very nice and clean. You can just sit and chill with your family or friends there, have a chit chatting. It was nice.

Overall, it was a great experience....

Firstly I booked from Agoda a Queen Size Bedroom. Then after arrive this place, the reception said the Queen Size Room is full. The only available room was King Size Bedroom. We had no choice & proceed with King Size Bedroom, also increase the price. RM62 to RM90.

1. The room has big openable curtain wall and it is see through! They didn't even provide curtain to cover the room except for the window.

4. Heater not functioning!

5. Broken lamp

6. The room is not the same as advertised. The advertised room has floating bed. The real one is normal king size bed.

7. Doesn't provide water heater, iron, in the room. Which is a basic things a cheap hotel to provide.

8. The Astro has no channel except TV1, TV2, TV3, etc.

9. Slow service. I had to stand long time just to check in.

NOT RECOMMENDED. Especially the King Size Bedroom.

I love the overall vibes of the room. The interior is quite pleasing to the eyes. I was happy with the numerous sockets in the spacious room, excellent water pressure and comfortable bed. However, more effort should be put into cleanliness (at least in the room where I stayed in). The room was a little bit dusty and I could see cobwebs at certain corners of the room. I was even visited by creeping roaches on the floor twice (argh scared me out of my wits 😅). The young staff was quite helpful and accomodating. No shops close by as the location is in a housing area, but you can always order from Foodpanda anyway. You can park your car outside the gate. Bring your own toiletries as only shower cream (I love it, it smell so good) is provided. All in all, I do recommend this place.
