We stayed at this hotel (booked via Agoda where it receives an 8/10 rating) early this July. First off, we were a few minutes early for check-in; arrived around 2:15, the 'front desk' hut receptionist informed me that I had to wait till 2:30 to be checked in. So we waited for a good 10 minutes before she checked us in - really...? There are ample parking spaces on the premises. Biggest issue prior to entering our rooms was the noticeable noise level. The hotel is located on a very busy street. There are 'slow-down' tracks directly in front of the hotel entrance and the sound from all the traffic is at a very high decibel. When I got assigned the rooms, I noticed that the rooms were facing the noisy roadway. I politely asked to be shifted to a room in the back of the property. Turns out the rooms I requested are only at the front. As we entered the rooms, we started noticing a few things straight away. See photos... this was the condition of our room. Then we noticed ants. My parents' room had a roach behind the bed frame. Need I say more? It was super noisy. It did quiet down late in the evening... Budget hotels should not receive such a high rating. After I rated my stay at Agoda, I went back in a week later to search for my review... not to be found. I would be embarrassed to have my house guests stay under these conditions, yet they have the audacity to charge guests. Good thing they had wi-fi, hot water. This is your very basic, bare minimum, falling apart room rental. Hangers would have been nice. The trail of ants and cockroach - very disturbing. Definitely not what...
Read moreI am a frequent traveller to dungun and NDE Hotel was my favourite to spend short trip for about a year and half where my hudband and I need to travell for work at Jerangau twice or thrice a month. The good thing is clean towel & bed linens and comfy 4 pillows for queen bed (deluxe room) and 6 pillows for superior room (1 queen bed and single bed) and good wifi comnectivity if you got rooms at the front apart from fair cleanliness and easy parking. If you need iron, can request from the staff. The negative part is early check in and late check out will be charged RM20 per hour (previously was RM10 per hour) and if you stay for 2 nights and more there will be no change of linens / housekeeping or additional drinking water provided for 2nd day and so on. No luggage storage and no hotel lobby or proper area for waiting taxi or grabcar as that they have extended (build) new rooms replacing the non operative coffee shop (demolished since 3months ago). Location wise, it is quite near to many local restaurants or eateries (via car 5mins driving) and 10-15mins to banks and supermarkets and petrol station and sura gate commercial shops...
Read moreA reasonably good and clean budget hotel, single storey "motel style" establishment. The reception is a small room with a small window. The room size is large for the standard "single" room with a Queen sized bed, Bathroom is quite clean with good water pressure and the hot water is okay.
For dinner you have to drive out to find a restaurant or Warung. The one in front of the hotel only opens from breakfast to lunch and the one next door was closed when I checked in.
You get free breakfast (pre-packed Nasi Lemak) which is reasonably good and option coffee and tea, all self service.
My first stay before was during MCO/PKP and the area was eerily quite but since then the sound of tyres hitting the speed limiter along the front road is very annoying. Despite the room not facing the road, you can hear it clearly, can't imagine what it's like if you stay in the front rooms.
But for those on an overnight stay especially for work would be good place. Nothing fancy but "reasonable".
Minor peeves: leaking bathroom sink and the toilet bowl needs a bit...
