Flora Bay 2 — Hotel in Greater Perhentian Island

We had dinner at the restaurant of this hotel yesterday night for my boyfriend birthday. He ordered a fresh fish that was cook on the grill. (That the only thing that I didn’t ate like him yesterday all day) The ice of the fish was totally melt by the time we ordered but we didn’t worry about it at this time because the restaurant was full and many people were ordering it... The dinner was nice until a couple hours later (back to our hotel, we are not staying at this hotel) and he start to feel sick really quickly. Vomiting and feeling sick all night long. We are in a island and especially in a really isolated beach where you can’t find doctor or medicine in the middle of the night and add a stormy night and what suppose to be paradisiac holidays turn to a Nightmare. I decided to go back to tell them about the experience today (and wanted a refund for the meal) but they said that food poisoning is a huge accusation against them and that no one else got sick last night. She suggest that was a gastro enterisis and not food poisoning which can be I am not doctor but gastro enterisis can still come from poor food safety Process. Booked the romantic dinner for my 25th wedding . I’m going to be very blunt . The set up was very nice . That’s it .. the download for the romantic dinner .. they kept asking to pay before arriving on the island but I paid on the day . Then was told to be there before 6pm as the water taxi may be bumpy due to waves as we were coming from tuna bay resort . I said would it be ok for a return at 9pm and was yes no problem . On arrival at 6 pm the tire was very low that the boat had trouble getting to the shore. As mentioned the set up was very nice . But the food was terrible kfc chicken and microwaved chips . To top it all they sell no alcohol at all had I had know I would not of booked . Just 1 glass with dinner !! Then after the meal I could not get a water taxi back and was told we have to wait til the morning !! When I complained to the manager he simply said act of god !! Like the tides are an act of god .. I simply said you only got us here at 6 knowing this is a problem . By 11pm we finally demanded a room or a water taxi . Eventually they got a fisherman to get us home !! We bought a 3 days 2 nights package that include 3 meals per day and a snorkeling trip. The room has air cond but it is barely cold enough to escape the heat. The water drips continuously from the faucet in the bathroom. Dozens of flies surround the buffet table with food uncovered with no attempts to cover them or use fly traps. On the second night, we have looked forward to our BBQ dinner which is included in the package. However, without any warning we were served regular dishes instead of the fancier BBQ dinner. Management brought up some arcane rules about our party does not have 8 adults (we have 7 adults and 2 children in our party) and therefore they cannot serve the BBQ dinner. Instead the manager ask us to resolve the issue with our travel agent since he is the one who advertises the second night we were served BBQ dinner. Unbelievable! From the looks of it, management would care less about what impression the resort leaves on their paying customers.
