Went there with family quite early. So, there's some lot free to rent. If you're planning to stay call ahead and make reservation first. The beach was covered by high tide on the day we visited. So not advisable to swim as it was 'pasang besar' time. Overall, it was quite enjoyable as you have some shaded areas, quite breezy too. P/S: pictures taken during low tide.

Mother-in-law watched a TV program that introduced the seafood meal at Sungai Rengit. We decided to explore the place on Boxing day. This place comes under Johor, and seems to be a favourite place for bikers. According to http://www.tourismjohor.com/directory/accommodation.cfm?category=Resort, there seems to be plenty of accomodaion at Sungai Rengit. However, almost all the accomodations listed do hot have individual website to 'showcase products'. I chanced upon this chalet when I gave up hope using keywords "resort sungai rengit" and used "chalet pengerang" instead. Not a direct found but a pleasant present after the many hours of web search. Thank you God.||||So, off we go. Reached Sungai Rengit, had our lunch, set address on GPS, and drove off. Shortly outside the town area after passing by "Seaview Resort" signage (on right hand side), my husband informed that the map on the GPS stopped. Some houses + school were ahead but they were local residents. Called Reja on his mobile for help. I was told we were on the right direction. So, here is the full direction after leaving Sungai Rengit Town:||- Head towards Seaview Resort. This signage should appear on RHS (right hand side)||- Drive further up you will see a Sand Refinery on the LHS (left hand side)||- Approximately 50m ahead, a Maroon Bungalow will appear on RHS. Watch out for the one small lane/road on RHS to turn in.||- After turning in , the Maroon Bungalow should get bigger to indicate that you are on the right track.||- Just a little ahead on your LHS, you will see a wood-framed yellow signboard "Chalet D'Punngai" with a red-roof bulding that looks like the "R&R" along north-south highway as the backdrop. RHS is the beach & the sea.||||Each chalet is a 'lifted' wooden house sitting on top 4 cement supports. There are 10 chalets in the compound. We had units 4 & 5. Both units have 1 Queen + 1 Single beds w/ blankets, aircon, ceiling fan, TV , a 2-seater sofa , one toilet w/ hot shower, a basin area for washing & making hot drinks, 2 glass cups, 1 electric jug and 2 packets each of teh-tarik & 3-in-1 coffee mix.||||The units are cleaner then expected - not totally dust or cobweb free, but clean as in people with sensitive noise did not sneeze upon entering.||||The units are quite spacious which I feel can accomodate 1 Queen + 2 Single beds + 1 mattress.||||2 bathing towels, 2 mini body soap bars, 2 packets of shampoo, a pail and 1 water scoop were provided in the toilet. There is also a small basin in the toilet if you do not want to use the metal basin outside. The only wish I have for the toilet was to have a rod to hang towel & clothes so that adults can dress inside the toilet after bath, where now both adults & children have to dress otside. I was later told by my 2 mummies at unit 5 that they also have to dress outside because their toilet flood after bath. You may also want to bring along extra cloth hangers (3 hanges provided) to dry towels if you stay more than 1 night.||||Unit 4 is in front of the 'pool' - a big big bath tub made of canvas. Not very exciting by its look but fun enough for the children. You can pull a chair (if available in your unit or take one from the reception area) and enjoy the wind & peacefulness while watching out the kids in water. ||||It was a blessing that it did not rain on Boxing day. The 2 old ladies & my eldest went to have a walk along the beach. Choppy water, not clear but good enough for them.||||Bed time at night is the best part for me - the soothing 'music' by the crickets + the 'accompanying' by passing-by lizards - I was sent to dreamland in no time.||||Breakfast (not part of the accomodation) was another surprise - the stall (at the main bulding) that serves lontong, roti prata was delicious! We had 7 prata, 3 lontong, 1 teh, 1 nasi lemak. There is another stall selling fried noodles kind-of stuff but we did not try. ||||Reja & Hayati are husband and wife. Both are very friendly. We had a good chat with Reja during the stay. I was told an Astronomy Soceity used this Chalet frequently because of its setting and the vast open space around the Chalet.||||Basically, this Chalet is conveniently located and is a good...

'Golden Beach' refers to the 'pioneer' chalet in Desaru. Initially it was great, but i guess due to lack of maintenance, the place were falling apart. Even if you paid me, I would not have stayed there.||||Back to this chalet. i did not have high hopes for it though. I wanted to book another chalet (Tanjung Sepang) but it was fully booked.||||The rooms (we booked 2 chalets) were full of flies and mosquito. The air-con was constantly at 24 degree celcius. No matter how we tried to adjust it, the remote does not seem to 'connect' with the unit. ||||One the chalet had a broken window too. The beds looked ok, but the sofa cushion was really dirty. There was also a nail poking out from the floor.||||The water pressure from the shower was very low and the mini fridge does not seem to be working. The fan was also very noisy.||||The swimming pool, to me, is just an inflated giant rubber pool. However, I find it too deep for children but too small for adults. Also, the water inside the pool was very murky. no one dared to use it, partly also because we saw other guests washing their hands inside the pool, after blowing their nose.. eeeekkkkk!!!||||There are no built-in BBQ pit. You'll have to rent it for RM50, which I think is ridiculous. We brought our own 'satay' style bbq pit but realised that we had to bbq on the floor. However, we spotted a table at another chalet unit and carried it to our unit :) But, it was very dark as they do not have additional lighting outside the chalet. It was quite a pain to bbq in the dark|| ||The chalet is not located right at the beach, you'll have to cross a road to get to the beach.||||Overall, it is still better than Golden Beach. But if they continue to let it rot, it will just be another deserted...
