The Impiana Group operates several hotels in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. It has three properties in Malaysia namely Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Johor Bahru. Opened in 2017, Impiana Hotel Senai, as the name suggests, is a 10mins (8.6km) car ride from Senai International Airport. It costs about RM10 with a ride-hailing service from the hotel to the airport. On the other hand, travelling from Johor Immigration & Customs to the hotel costs about RM24.||There is a RM10 tourism tax payable to the Front Desk during the check in registration. However, there is no deposit required for hotel incidentals during the stay here. The rooms at this property start from the 3rd to 8th level. The Club Rooms and lounge are on level 9. I had booked the Deluxe Room and was accommodated in Room No. 711. The room view offered by this hotel is unique because the front of the hotel faces a Chinese cemetery. If you are uncomfortable with this view, I recommend making a request to the front desk team. On the other hand, the view at the back of the hotel faces a construction site. My room view is partially blocked by the wall of the hotel building, though I am still able to see the cemetery, which I am fine with it.||The Wi-Fi connectivity worked well during my stay. The room does not offer a SMART TV. Therefore, you can only enjoy local, Singapore and selective cable TV programmes in the comfort of your room. However there is a screen mirroring function. There are two USB charging ports and a universal power socket at the bedside for your mobile device charging needs. The showering experience is good, which the water pressure is strong and there is adequate hot water.||The hotel offers the following facilities on the second level:| |1. Kid’s Pool & 1.2m Deep Adult Pool - 7am to 7pm|2. Pool Bar - 4pm to 12am|3. Gymnasium - 6.30am to 10pm|4. Kid’s Zone - 10am to 7pm||The star of the hotel facility has to be the Kid’s Zone. It is possibly the best and largest kid’s play area among the hotels I had stayed in Johor Bahru. Children will have a great time enjoying themselves at this area.||The Tiffin Restaurant is on the ground floor which operates between 6.30am to 10pm. It offers the following dining promotions:||Asian Buffet Lunch|- RM45 nett per adult | RM25 nett per child (6 - 12 years old) |- 12pm to 2.30pm from Mon to Fri||Semi-Buffet Dinner |- RM38 nett per person|- 6.30pm to 10pm from Mon to Fri||International Buffet Dinner|- RM60 nett per adult | RM32 nett per child (6 - 12 years old) |- 6.30pm to 10pm on Fri & Sat||3-Tier Hi-Tea Set|- RM45 nett for two guests|- 3pm to 6pm daily||Weekend Hi-Tea Buffet|- RM50 nett per adult | RM28 nett per child (6 - 12 years old) |- 12pm to 3pm on Sat & Sun||If you don’t feel like heading out, you can consider the hotel’s in-room dining service which operates from 11am to 10.30pm. This is available between 12pm and 10pm daily.||Impiana Hotel Senai is a 10mins (10km) car ride from Johor Premium Outlets (JPO). If you are a shopperholic, I recommend planning your hotel stay together with a trip to this place. On my arrival day, I boarded a ride-hailing service from JPO which costs RM8 on a weekday afternoon. On my departure day, I headed to Paradigm Mall using the same service for RM11. You can also consider using the hotel’s complimentary shuttle service which operates as below:||* Hotel to Paradigm Mall, Angsana Mall & JPO: 10.30am & 4pm||* Paradigm Mall, Angsana Mall & JPO to hotel: 4.15pm & 9.15pm||You can find eateries offering halal and Chinese food in the hotel vicinity. Read moreI'd requested for room decoration (husband birthday) by phone call in Saturday but the reception staff ask me to make a call on Monday Morning (before check-in time). But I didn't manage to make a call in the morning since I'm busy in the office. So I just straight away go to the Reception at 1 pm (during lunch hour) together with the decoration things (HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALPHABETS FOIL & FLAG LINE + PUMP TO INFLATE THE BALLOON) I bring my own things & just make a favor to the staff to just inflate the balloons & hang it on the room's wall because I decided to check-in at 7 pm to surprise my husband. Unfortunately, the reception staff refused to accept the order & keep discussing with the Sales Person on the phone whether or not to accept my order. He also questioning me why I'm not make the decoration order for at least a day before. I'd explain to him that I'd made a phone call on Saturday but the staff ask me to call by Monday as the Sales staff not there at that moment I called.Since too many excuses given by the staff & seems like they not sure to handle my request so I decided to do the decoration work by myself within 30 minutes time only.
We also felt a bit upset at the time we reached the Hotel at 6.30 PM & decide to have an early dinner at The Tiffin, We are quite surprise that nobody there & nobody welcome us. I need to ask the staff at the Reception area to call the Restaurant's staff to take an order. The service from the staff in the Restaurant was too slow from taking the order until serving the foods. Please imagine that we only managed to get our 1st meal after waiting for about 40 minutes & managed to get all the foods ordered within 1 hour time. I'm not sure why the service was too slow as we're the only family there at that time. Luckily the food taste was nice & good. Credit to the Chef!
While in the room, the mattress & pillows are too hard. There is no glass door fixed in the toilet & make the water from the shower area go to the other side and also the water holes was clogged and the water cannot flow well. Maybe this is what we deserve for the cheapest room worth RM170/night.
Hope for better...
