I recently had the opportunity to stay at Bangi Resort Hotel for one night, and I must say, my experience was far from what I expected from a five-star establishment. While the hotel has its charm, especially in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, my overall stay was marred by significant shortcomings.
First, the positives: the hotel, despite its age and outdated decor is well-maintained. The maintenance staff has clearly put in a lot of time and effort to keep the common areas clean and smell great. Kudos to them for keeping the place in good shape. However, this is where the positives end.
The buffet dinner, (known as the Pesona Iftar Ramadhan during my stay), left much to be desired. The food selection was mid at most, chaotic and the dishes lacked creativity and passion. I was hoping for a memorable culinary experience, but regrettably, nothing stood out. It felt more like a mediocre offering rather than the sumptuous meal one would expect at a five-star hotel. Some even say, for half the price, they could just as easily eat buffet at the nearby Bangi Golf Resort.
The check-out process was the most frustrating part of my stay. I had to wait 10-15 minutes just to settle my bill, despite the hotel NOT being at FULL capacity. To make matters worse, I had to inquire about the status of my check-out after witnessing other guests after me being processed promptly. The reception staff, named Amirul, seemed indifferent to my situation, handing over my deposit WIHTOUT an apology or even a smile which left a sour taste in my mouth. This lack of basic customer service is unacceptable, especially for a hotel of this caliber.
To add to the frustration, I was disappointed to find that the contact number provided by the hotel led to the same UNHELPFUL team, with no access to a manager or higher authority. It seems that the hotel has declined significantly over the past two years (the last time I stayed), transforming from a DECENT stay to one of the WORST customer service in my travels.
I wouldn't recommend Bangi Resort Hotel. The POOR customer service, dining and guest experience have made me decide not to return. A one-star rating feels generous given the...
Read moreWe booked three Deluxe rooms, each with its own set of issues. The hotel is quite old, and I recall staying here back in 2008 when it operated under a different name. The room size is decent for two people, featuring a balcony with a lovely view of the lake and golf course. The bathroom and linen was impressively clean and tidy — everything sparkled.
However, the air conditioning was a major letdown. One room was too cold, another was too warm, and mine had an annoying ticking sound throughout the night, causing me to wake up several times. Since we arrived late at night and only planned to stay for one night before checking out after breakfast, we decided to endure it.
Breakfast was decent but far from memorable, especially when compared to the experience I had under the hotel’s previous management. I still recall the glorious presentation and delicious variety they once offered. This time, however, the food selection was more limited, and the service left much to be desired. The staff appeared disinterested, moving around like robots with no smiles or warmth, as if they were there out of obligation. Cleanliness also needed improvement — I noticed dust on several utensils, though to their credit, the staff promptly addressed it when informed.
The restaurant is located next to the pool, which was packed with children during our visit. It seems to be a family-friendly hotel, as it’s likely a popular spot for families seeking a short getaway on weekends or school holidays.
The check-out process was another point of frustration. For a hotel of this stature, it shouldn’t take nearly 20 minutes. Worse still, despite all that time, no one informed me that I had left my charger in the room. I only realized it after I got home. It made me wonder what exactly took so long during the room clearance process.
Overall, it was a stay with mixed feelings. While the scenic views, cleanliness, and family-friendly environment had their merits, the inconsistent air conditioning, unengaged service, and slow check-out process left much...
Read moreReally enjoyed my stay in Bangi Resort! The receptionist let me to check in early and check out tad bit late and I can’t thank enough for that. They also upgraded my room with amazing golf course view. I booked this resort because I just wanted to clear my mind and it was sensational.I did not have to go out of the resort to kill my time. Plenty of restaurants inside, managed to dine in at De’wan and myburgerlab during my stay. The in room dining also served really good food! I also enjoyed my time at the gym and to my surprise, guest can have access to the wet sauna, dry sauna and jacuzzi! I think not many guests are aware of it and I had the place all to myself despite during my trip was during a peak period (public holiday & school holiday). The cons, they required RM250 deposit and can only be paid by cash or credit card. They did not accept debit card and I had to take Grab to the nearest mall and cost me RM12 just to withdraw my money. Quite troublesome! The breakfast was below par honestly, not much of a selection compared to other 4-5 stars hotel and taste wise was below average. The only thing I enjoyed is their congee with youtiao. The in room dining charge RM10 for delivery which I dont think it makes any sense just for them to use the lift from the first floor and deliver it to my room. First time I go to a hotel that charge delivery fee for in room dining. They have like a farm tour or something but I didnt get any explanation of it during my check in. When I came to know about it, they told me that the tour only operates on Saturday evening and when I asked about that, the group just left for the trip. Quite a bummer because they didnt offered me this trip during my check in and I didnt get a chance to experience the activities in their farm.Lastly, I wish they would provide bathrobe in the room and everything else was great! The receptionist named Khairunnisa deserved a raise for providing me excellent...
