EDC Hotels & Resorts — Hotel in Kedah

Went to Sintok with my siblings for a 3 days 2 night break. The breakaway was to fetch my niece that soon she will be part of the University Utara Malaysia family member. Stayed in EDC UUM hotel. The hotel located 48KM north of Alor Setar, Kedah and just 10KM from the Malaysian-Thai Border town of Bukit Kayu Hitam and 30km to Padang Besar, Malaysian- Thai Border. What's amazed us about this hotel was its greenery ambience, peaceful, warm and relaxing surroundings and its room amenities were accommodating. The room is spacious and the price is reasonable. The hotel service was good and staff was helpful and friendly. Acquainted with chef on duty at the Sri Beringin Restaurant, Pn Fuziah, she was pleasant and her banana ball fritter was yummy. I am impressed of the hotel management's continuous effort to ensure the maintenance of the hotel cleanliness, greenery ambience and relaxing surroundings regardless on whether full occupancy of guests or not.|Thumbs up and bravo to the hotel management and staff 👏🏻. Located just at the entrance of UUM, it was the best place for us to stay as we wanted to visit the campus. We had adjoining rooms which were clean and big. However maintenance should be more regular especially on the air-conds which failed to function in the middle of the night (for the smaller room). Located in a rural location in Sintok, I don't think we can expect much from this hotel.

Since it is part of the university business approach, so it is not fully equipped with a decent hospitality which is lack of carpeting hallway, limited choice of breakfast, no bellboy & no morning newspaper deliver at ur door step.

As to drop by due to budget business occasion, this hotel is recommended. But please take note, their cafe took hours to serve the food u order even there's not many customer. And expensive too for this such...
