Would 0% recommend.

Only reason to go to this place is if you want to experience what Malay prison feels like: unfriendly ‘guard’ who only wants to sell you his ‘guided’ overpriced tours and parking; cameras, unwelcoming warning signs and alarms everywhere. When you want to give the owner your honest opinion about the place upon asked, he just says ‘whatever’.

Time for the government to step in and save this “National” Park (seems like it’s fully privatized really) from money-grubbing management. Sad to see nature like this being mistreated for personal gain like this…

I do 100% recommend you to go to LATA KERTAS, a most beautiful waterfall and river no more than a 10min drive from Stong Hill “Resort” - well-maintained, free, and in full development (with the government overseeing the construction).

Go enjoy the wondrous nature Dabong has to offer…or go to prison, choice is all yours…but please consider this review as a...

This is the place if you want to see Stong Hill waterfall from near. This place is more suitable if you want to try extreme fitness activities at Dabong Hill. The river and the hike may not be suitable for small kids and person with difficulties to move about. If you stay here, unless you get the rooms at the lower part of the hill, you need to mini-hike to reach most of your chalet house, fitness is imperative. However, the shop within this resort is open until late in the night. It is also gated, ensuring your safety during your stay in the resort. Outside this resort, Dabong town doesn't have proper petrol stations like Petronas etc. You can fill your petrol at small shops which pump petrol from barrels to your vehicle using water pipe. If you don't like to do this, ensure you fill petrol in your car abundantly before you reach this area.

This resort is conveniently located. Basically around 7km from dabong train station and just 5 mins drive from the resort to source for kedai runcit or kedai makan outside. Yazil and his family were really helpful and accommodative. Ensuring our needs are well taken care of and dropping us to the train station since you cant find grab there. In terms of the stay, it would say pretty value for the money for the environment you get. I recommend to those who wanna just chill around and the resort has a whole list of activities that you could do such as atv, flying fox, hiking, tubing etc. Or even just hang out at the waterfall right in front of the resort. Aircond is not required for this place, pretty chilly at night. For those who plans to hike gunung stong and wanna have a good rest, the starting point is front the resort itself:))

20-30 minutes climb uphill without stairs and a little "mini challenge" make sure you wear sports shoes... Paid rm150 for the guide (compulsory guide because it is quite challenging climb) each guide is up to 7 pax... So make sure go there by a group of 7 (if 8 person means need 2 guide, better go by 7 or 14 to maximized the worth)... Even you go alone it is still rm150 per guide... Then plus permit which is less than rm5 per pax and parking fee... Overall very nice and satisfied when reached to the foot of waterfall. Also there are more trails to 3 mountains by 1 trip, to the top of the waterfall (the guide recommended best view is when after raining, can see the spring water) but the trip is overnight trip so we did not took it...
