I originally wanted a room close to the railway station at Tumpat but ended up here at maena 10 KMS away.||What a good mistake!||The plane trip landed at KB early and so I ended here at 10 expecting a long wait but was given a room to rest in until the room was cleaned.||I stayed in the barracuda room over the water with an awesome view of the fishing boats.||||The rooms were fairly empty after a holiday weekend and I was looked after wonderfully by the host who took me into town on the back of his scooter.||||I walked through the duty free zone and then back along the road to many hellos and it appears not a lot of whites stay near here. Lots of hellos😂||The accom was fantastic, clean and perfect in every way.||The staff were fantastic. I was surprised to be dropped off breakfast whilst sitting outside my room😂 as not expected.||This is a great place to stay for a night, maybe do a river cruise but don't expect to be amongst hoards of tourists if you see any..||||If you want to sit and recharge yoursslf then here is the place to stay and be felt welcome.||||PS the pool is...
Read moreTo be honest, i wasn't expecting that a place in this remote place would be this lovely. It totally exceeded our expectations. The room we stayed in called Duyong is really spacious, one queen bed and two singles on the upper floor. It's really clean and the upper floor overlooks the river with the fishing boats owned by local fishermen lined up. It's a lovely sight!. You can even fish on the hotel owned boat parked right beside the chalet. To be woken up by the sounds of the engine from the fishing boats and the sound of the water rippling is really something. The owner and the staff are friendly and we can tell they do their best to give you a pleasant stay. This is a place if you're looking for a quaint place to stay in a fishermen village. We would...
Read moreI was on a fact finding mission, so please pass the rating. This is a partly floating (a term that includes building on stilts over water) and partly landed 10-room resort located in a quiet village near Pengkalan Kubor Duty Free Complex on the Malaysian border. Their restaurant and cafe were not operating during the pandemic, so guests will dine out or arrange for meals beforehand, there is no sign of western restaurants in that area. The surrounding is serene and locals are friendly, making it a place to relax. They can do river cruise if you want to break the monotone. There are many Thai temples in Tumpat, I would imagine they can help arrange for...
