What a shame. Great location by the sea, hampered by poor upkeep. I have mixed feelings with this quaint rustic chalet-style establishment. Fyi, this is my 2nd visit from maybe 30 odd years ago. Room 404 where we're staying was just a few feet away from the waters edge with a nice verandah to match. Imagine sipping coffee or tea at night while taking in the view, simply marvellous. Cosy little coffee house with the pool in view, they serve acceptable local buffet breakfast. The staff were nice and helpful too. Niceties aside, this resort is in desperate need of refurbishment, even dangerous. Found a nail jotting out of the verandah's floor and it was basically a disaster waiting to happen. My advise is, stay away from rooms further from the main building and insist on rooms nearest to the pool. The upkeep seemed much better there (from the outside that is). There's a seafood restaurant ( ala Thai) just across the road if you're lazy to venture farther for dinner. Ample parking and the compound is adequately lit. TV and hot shower were faulty but you may have better luck with other room. Not sure if they provide WiFi or not but Digi's 4G is awesome. 1 last thing, at the time this review is written the state of Malacca is observing water rationing on every other day basis. If you arrive on a 'no-water day', you'll have only 2 pails of water to share. They'll replenish them of course but that could take hours I sincerely think. To sum up, great location and hospitality but until the management take the upkeep of the resort more seriously, and for the price you'll be paying, with a heavy heart... Not...

Read moreFull of character. Great views. Tranquil. Very friendly staff. Little hidden gem of Melaka. Great food. Breakfast is always fresh and different every day. Not far from the Old Town (30mins approx). Local supermarket and bakery... great value for money. I can see many people have complained about the cleanliness and I can't disagree - there are indeed issues, but the management are in a proses of renovating the premises. They have done a fantastic job on restoring the main building where the reception is - the old colonial style building stands proud and beautiful. There is a good number of restored antique furniture in the lobby as well. During our stay there were people actively planning the next steps of renovation needed for the bar and restaurant area and the owners have assured us that the wooden shalets are to be completely redone asap. The potential of the resort is massive and I will be very happy to stay here again. I hope all future guests will show understanding and enjoy all good things about it while this place is...
