This is a good place for a getaway staycation. We went with a toddler, and all he wanted to do was to play in the pool. If this is you, then good, because there is little else besides. The place is exactly as shown in the photos and nothing more. But what the photos do not show is the loose bathroom fixtures, leaky shower head, and cracked tiles. This place has great potential, but it feels as though the management is not willing to invest more in the maintenance and upkeeping of the place to unleash its full potential. The place is also run by only 2 staffs who manage everything from check-in to housekeeping to meal prep. That is a lot of work for only 2 persons, and it also does not seem like the management has invested much in their professional training and development (although the guy at the counter was rather nice). When I booked, I was promised a baby cot for my toddler and some deco because we were there to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary. When we arrived, there was none of that, and the staff even asked if I had paid (which I had, plus the pre-ordered food). He also seemed to have no knowledge of the pre-ordered food. There was no computer system there to check on the bookings; it seemed that he merely relied on WhatsApp messages from the "boss" to know what bookings were made. Food was edible if you are not very particular, and yes, it is very small portion as everyone else had said. We ordered the hi-tea set, and it was mainly frozen food from Lotus. Didn't even give us butter or jam with the toast for breakfast until we asked for it. We frequented the pool every day, and even though there were 3 of us (and we had made that known at booking), the staff only gave us 2 pool towels when we asked for 3 saying that they hadn't yet done laundry for the day, and even suggested that we reuse the pool towel from yesterday. But there wasn't even anyone else at the pool then. Oh, and there is no daily cleaning service for the rooms, which is understandable considering that they only have 2 staffs on site. There is so much potential for this place what with the perfect ambience for a quiet getaway and the family-friendly environment. It's unfortunate that the management seems...
Read moreA very secluded and quiet retreat if you like a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle from city life or planning a wedding since they have an event space for that. The room was a very nice size for a small fam. Lovely pool area with BBQ & karaoke facilities. Plenty of seating area to chill at night. Breakfast included. It was the basic eggs, toast, beans and wedges. It was often served cold for the 2 days I was there. But it was edible.
However, there were certain areas I feel they shd really really improve on considering the price per night was rather high and not very worth it IMO.
The pathway entering into the venue could have been paved better
At least have some trained staff mending the so called reception / checking in (some couldn't understand English and it was rather difficult to communicate)
Bathroom water pressure and temperature was very very inconsistent every single night
Could possibly do something about the flies? It was literally everywhere which is quite disgusting because they could at least place those electric fly traps around the area. Not to mention the mossies too. I'm sure having those traps will help Alot cos I got bitten plenty
Pool towels were very limited for some reason. Maybe prepare extra helps rather than telling guests that you can only have 1 when obviously there's a couple. It was just odd to me.
Overall, I guess it was an quiet & enjoyable stay. Just remember to bring ALOT of mossie repellent. Maybe your own fly...
Read moreI would highly recommend Rubber Escape for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in the forest. The staff, particularly Rahul, were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout my stay.
The room was spacious and comfortable, with a luxurious toilet featuring a bathtub. It was also great to have a self-healing environment that was quiet and relaxing. I particularly appreciated that the hotel was not too deep into the forest, making it easily accessible.
The food at the hotel was both delicious and affordable. While the breakfast was good enough, heavy eaters may want to bring their own food. The hotel also has spaces and BBQs available for family gatherings, which would be a great option for larger groups.
In terms of activities, the hotel offers cycling, table tennis, karaoke, and archery. These were all enjoyable and a nice way to pass the time.
One thing to keep in mind is that, as with any forested area, there may be mosquitoes. However, I was pleased to find that there were no mosquitoes in the room. I came prepared with my own mosquito repellent spray, which was a good idea.
Overall, I had a great experience at Rubber Escape and would definitely stay here again in the future. Extra note: I went on Tuesday which was really great because I could roam freely. My stay is...
