I'm writing this review because people who go for the "glamping" experience there needs to know a few facts of that place, for their own safety and enjoyment.

On the first day of our stay, a few members of our group decided to go tubing, while the rest stayed back by the bank to enjoy some drinks and relax.

The river has a steady current, and within minutes the 3 tubers were carried downstream out of sight. So for the rest of us that decided to stay back, it around half an hour for us to realise that the tubers had to eventually walk upstream back to camp, and that they probably haven't thought of that part yet, in their enthusiasm.

We hastily organised a rescue party (consisting of me and a phone) with the rest of the group trying to contact the tubers on the phone. The idea is for me to meet them, and then walk upstream together back to camp.

After close to an hour of swimming/hiking downstream in the knee-height river, I finally linked up with the tubers. After a short walk upstream we decided to toss away the tubes as they were too much encumbrance. 10 minutes into our hike back, it started drizzling, and the currents grew stronger. It's at this point that we realised we're in danger. We had to make a decision on whether to press on against stronger currents, or wait and risk spending the night in total darkness in the jungle.

We were in contact with the rest of the party in the camp, and there was general confusion as to what we should do. Eventually we decided our best bet at survival would be to make it to camp by whatever means necessary. It was a gruelling trek, but fortunately the rain stopped and the currents subsided.

When we got back to camp an hour later, the rest of the group were visibly agitated. Apparently two things happened: (1) we, as guests from the city, had to call all the shots of the rescue operation; and (2), after a short argument between our friends and the hosts, they mentioned that they will not be liable if something bad happened. Imagine being exhausted and shaken from this ordeal, only to hear these things.

Now let's be clear: the hosts did attempt to organise a rescue by driving into the jungles to see if there's a way to meet us by the bank. It was just a bad plan. As this is not the first time this happened, we would have assumed that they would at least have an SOP of some kind. Nada.

At this point, emotions were running high. Guess what, instead of de-escalating the situation, the hosts decided to double down on their position and insist that they had done their best and that we were the unreasonable ones. We as a guests ended up having to be the ones to de-escalate the situation. Who's the one who chose to be in the hospitality business again?

To be clear, we only have 2 demands: (1) for them to admit that they did not provide clear enough briefing to the safety parameters of the river (for the benefit of future campers); and (2) to apologise for the badly timed statement about liability. We can meet them halfway.

Nope. No apologies of any kind. In fact, if you look at their instagram page, you'll notice that they posted passive aggressive updates about "having common sense in the jungles" and "rivers don't loop around". That's the kind of people you'll be dealing with. The kind where they're all smiles when things are right, and blames you for everything if something goes wrong.

In the end, the only concession we got was the waiver of the fees owed, but it was done under the context of "getting rid of us".

I believe the hosts are honest folks, but are unprepared to run a glamping site. They are also under-equipped to handle emergencies, and aren't trained in hospitality either. If they can accuse us of lacking common sense in nature, then we can say they lack common sense in hospitality as well.

I would not go back there any time soon, as I don't see the hosts taking any steps to make it a safer experience for their guests. Not to mention their attitude when...

Had a blast at Glamping at Kongkoi for the second time, cycled from Hulu Langat – what a ride! The vibe is always top-notch, with amazing homecooked food. The owners are like family friends, not just hosts. Went for the air-conditioned room this time – so spacious and comfy! Can't wait to be back for more good times at Glamping at Kongkoi! 🚴‍♂️🏕️

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing glamping at this serene and beautiful location. This quiet place was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Nestled in nature's embrace, we found it easy to rest well and recharge.

The accommodations were exceptional, with clean rooms that offered all the comforts of home. The overall cleanliness of the entire site was impressive, making our stay even more enjoyable.

What truly set this glamping experience apart was the warmth and hospitality of the family-owned establishment. The friendly owner and their helpful staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay.

And let's not forget the food! The culinary delights served here were a gastronomic delight. Each meal was a testament to the dedication and love put into this business.

While there were no activities provided, this was exactly what we needed – a place to be with nature, free from distractions. Although there was a river nearby, it was not recommended for swimming. However, you could drive to the nearest swimable river, jeram gading or explore Taman Negeri Kenaboi for more adventurous outings. We cycled our way to Taman Negeri Kenaboi, tiring but it was worth it!

In summary, this glamping retreat was a serene, beautiful, and restful haven. With its clean rooms, friendly owner, and exceptional food, it offers a truly unforgettable experience. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful...

We had a really memorable stay here. The resort is really private and exclusive! It has been around for quite sometime but i came to know only recently.

We stayed at the deluxe chalet, i like the layout, the big bathroom, the room design, lighting etc. It was clean. It has big balcony for one to relax, passing time.

The ground was the most magnificient. Foggy and chilly in the morning. The view was mesmerizing. The feels very clean and fresh.

The best of all its river, sandy and kids friendly. It has some current which adds to the fun, letting yourself drifted along the river. Kids spend time making sandcastle.

Not to forget, the food is well priced and delicious. Specially prepared by the local chef. Dont expect warung price here but the hassle to provide and prepare the food is well worth it.

Words cant describe my stay, highly recommended to stay here at least once. The owner and her family members are very friendly, we feel very welcomed. I hope the owner can continue its passion and serve the less fortunate customer like me longing for this kind of oppurtunity.

Lastly, a few pictures to tease, lots of pretty pictures but i leave it to you to discover...

Had an extraordinary private experience here, we were the only 2 guests last night as a majority of the crowd checked out after the long Merdeka weekend, so we were thankful for the money can’t buy private and exclusive experience, we are thankful to the owners for allowing us to check in despite no other guests around. This family run place is absolutely charming with great facilities and situated right by a river. Accommodation type varies depending on the number of guests and your budget, each delivering a different look and feel. It rained heavily for many hours last night so we enjoyed the sounds and sights of nature that we normally do not experience in the city, 🏙️ Totally recommended and we will be back. The owners were all friendly and nice to talk to!
