Cozy little lodge-type hotel in front of a relatively unknown beach (at least when compared with Teluk Cempedak, Beserah, Balok, or Cherating) but one that’s only 15km south of Kuantan - which explains the crowd spotted during our stay last weekend... The rustic Kampung setting (including animals like cows, geese, and goats, cute village houses, and many coconut trees) and was also a refreshing change to the big city lifestyle we are so accustomed to! The hotel is pretty old but the rooms are modern, with flat screen TV and new split air-con, even if it was surprising that the management only provided two bar soaps and there was no liquid shampoo or bath foam... I think there should at least be dispensers with these essential showering items in the toilet (like what many budget hotels in town do)? Another headache is the poor LTE network in the area (at least for DiGi), without a doubt out of the Cempaka Resort’s control but can be a problem if there is an urgent call which has to be made...

Relaxing environment, walking distance to the beach, got swimming pool & ample space to park the car. ATV motor is one of the best activity. However, need to improve on facilities, the shower head is problem, not proper piping for aircond waste, it's like leaking in front of the room. The receptionist should be always standby at the counter & improve the customer service skills. A bit pricey compared to other staycation. Packed breakfast is good but pls increase the portion. Nasi lemak doesn't cost you Rm10 🙄

It is a beach hopping day wt 80 yr old mum n 3 good sport youngsters. Suited us for lazing, dip in the sea & pool and simple hot pot break in the tranquil nite. The seaview room is well maintained. The management easygoing n accomodating. Thanks ya rodong.

Well let me first say this, if you want value for your money, this is NOT the place. Although the hotel does have a prime location and great view and excess to the beach, the customer service is very very very BAD.

Location Great location. Just across the road to the beach. Lots of stalls and shops nearby.

Room Expensive and not worth it. For RM 250 per night, you could get a far better room in a 3 star hotel. The water faucet for the bidet is leaking. The tv keep lagging. There's no fridge, and each room will only be provided with 3 250ml drinking water. No complimentary soap or shampoo. If you want extra mattress or pillow, you'll have to book it early because the rate is more expensive if you request at the receptionist counter. The blanket does not have lining like what's usually provided in a regular hotel. So it's quite scratchy and uncomfortable. Honestly, for RM250 per night, I expect better than what I have experienced at this resort.

Food Same story. Very expensive and not worth the money. It is better to eat out than to book with the resort. The food prepared is barely enough, and they assume that each person only drink one glass of water by the look of the amount of drinks provided. When they say you have to pay children rate if you want your 1 year old to eat or drink, they do mean it. Once again, the operator or manager is very, very, very cheap and does not understand the word of complimentary and customer service. They even begruge the paying customer of a few extra plates and glasses. And there's no breakfast with the room. The nasi goreng provided for dinner is not nasi goreng cina, but nasi goreng kosong with a sprinkle of mixed veggies and a few fine strands of purple cabbage for colour. For the price of nasi goreng USA, you event wont get nasi goreng cina.

Facilities. The pools are okay even if its small. There's 3 small pool with different water level. Its suit the kids of all ages. Certainly not for adults. The barbecue hut is well equipped with power outlet, sink, water tap, fan, and grill. But just that. At least the barbecue package should come with extra plates and not just the plates for the main course. I guest its our fault because we dont clarify this with the management. We just use our common sense and past experiences and assume that it will be provide. Our mistake.

Customer service The worst customer service I have ever experienced. As if they tried their very best not to accommodate you and make your stay more pleasant. I've experienced better customer service in a budget motel than this resort. They do not value you as a customer, and they do not care if they lose your bussiness. For them it's your lost because to them their rate is the cheapest. It's certainly true, I cannot deny that it's cheap. However, add another 10 ringgit, and you'll get far better service at another establishment.

In conclusion: If you come with just your small family for the weekend, the resort is not bad. A little expensive for its class, but the easy excess to the beach compensate that.

However, if you are considering the resort for a large family gathering or company event, DON'T. You wont get your money worth and you will be dissatisfied. Owner or operator or manager (I dont know who) sangat sangat sangatlah berkira. (despite writing in English, I have to use Malay word for BERKIRA because theres no english word to describe what I feel about it)

Honestly, I regret choosing this resort and will never...

My friends booked this place so it was not my choice but i actually enjoyed the resort. We had a sea view ground floor chalet. It is not directly by the seaside, but You can see the sea about 200m away. The room and toilet was simple but very clean - there was a shower and hot water. Aircon was cold so we used the ceiling fan instead. We had a double queen which could fit 4 average sized Asian ladies but might be a tight for big guys. ||There was a basic swimming pool outside filled by excited children minded by their parents. Also a pool for toddlers and kids. Definitely the pool is not for a quiet, relaxing dip. ||The beach was nice with soft sand. We took a lot of amazing scenic pictures. Clear water but the sea is shallow. One has to walk quite far out even to get water up to the waist. However this is good if one has children as it is pretty safe. Areas where the tide goes in and out is clean but any other areas inland is full of litter - which is a shame because there is so much potential. In the afternoon of weekends there are a lot of families but at other times it is peaceful and quiet. ||We had a car so we ate mostly in town but a short 5 min drive can bring you to many eating places. (but yes, with no car you would have to walk some distance i imagine).||We only had breakfast once - which was just toast, nasi lemak (tasty) or a Sausage bun and Malay cake. Very basic. ||I didn't expect much so this place delivered all the basic necessities. My only complaint was the noisy water pump which kept growling on and off every 15seconds when someone uses the taps (which is nearly all the time). ||||Yes, there are BBQ...
