De Rhu Beach Resort — Hotel in Pahang

Nice hotel on the beachfront, ample gardens and huge swimming pools, (one under maintenance during our stay, July 2016). Staff very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is set back from the main road and needs good signage to attract customers. It seems that some of the rooms (sea view) have been refurbished and are very large and comfortable, whilst others (mainland view) could do with an update as they are rather drab. Breakfast buffet was good but catered mainly for local tastes, however there was still ample for other tastes to get you off to a good start to the day. Tea, coffee, water, kettle, iron, tv, newspapers are available in each room as well as a good WiFi connection. Gardens are lovely but could do with a little TLC, loved the rabbit run and the pigeon loft which are situated behind the play park. All in all a great, reasonably priced place to stay whilst visiting Kuantan.

We held a big family and friends birthday party in the De Rhu Oriental Restaurant as a surprise for our mother's birthday. Both in the planning and on the day the restaurant manager and all his staff were tremendously helpful and welcoming. The food was just perfect for the occasion and we can recommend it without reservation. A perfect delight!. We will sure return for another occasion.

The location of the beach hotel is quite ok, about 20min drive to city centre.||The hotel has a very wide pool, and also a pool playground. The maintenance of the pool cleanliness is good.||The buffet breakfast has very limited variety, only the mee goreng is ok to eat. We did not enjoy our breakfast experience during the stay. ||Important notice to future customers: kids are free to stay, but not free to eat the buffet breakfast (extra charges is needed). We are not so happy about this policy since the room is allowed for 2 adults & 2 kids stay, but why kids have to pay extra for the food? Some more, we needed to pay extra to eat "not so tasty and limited choice food".||The hotel room is big, toilet size is acceptable, but a bit rundown. If you are very fussy person, don't ever check in, because the yellowish stain at the basin, on the tiles, on the shower curtain will make you uncomfortable.||The mattress is acceptable, but the quality of the pillow required to improve.||TV reception is terrible, all tv channels are blurred.||I must praise the hotel staff are very friendly, I love their bright smile on their faces.||Important notice to future customers: During night time the access to pool and beach is closed and prohibited.||The hotel has a direct access to the beach. Our extended family - 32 pax in total had our family day at this resort last weekend. We had great time here! ||This hotel has a number of swimming pools which the kids will surely love. It’s almost like a mini water park. The hotel area are well kept and clean. We had the hotel organised telematch games for our group at a field within the hotel compound. The hotel staffs who organised the games for us were nice, friendly and funny too. It was great fun for us! This hotel is a beachfront hotel but unfortunately, during our stay, the public beach in front of the hotel was quite dirty. Probably because of the high tides and rains.||Since we are still under movement controls because of the Covid19, there’re SOPs which we have to follow but not a problem at all for us. For meals, the hotel organised banquet style serving in a private room for us. That was really nice and made a lot of difference for us. We had BBQ dinner and we were able to have our own talent show since the room is only for our group. The food served buffet style for us and it was delicious!||The hotel is an old hotel but i believe it was recently refurbished. The room are spacious and very clean.
