Ellin Forest — Hotel in Pahang

I had book the Duplex Suite for 4 adults for one night on my recent visit to Bentong.

The accommodation location is neither central Bentong nor Janda Baik, and neither near to any highway. Therefore, it is a very private and quiet location. It is recommend to reach the place during day time because it is pitch black during the night (no street light along the way).

On top of that, this accommodation is located on top of the hill, so you are require to drive up a steep hill to reach the main entrance.

I had book the Duplex Suite for 4 adults for one night. Before check-in, the owner contacted me via Whatsapp on booking confirmation and the requirement to pay a deposit of RM 100 for each room. The deposit is returned via bank transfer within 72 hours after check out under the condition room is in basic cleanliness and nothing is broken.

For me, I requested to the owner in advance to check in earlier. The owner is responsive and accommodated my request. Upon arrival at the accommodation, one of the worker pass me the room key and shows us to the room location. Therefore, the check in process is very simple. The facility looks clean and huge at first sight, and have on open communal space for BBQ, karaok room and swimming pool (mountain water).

The Duplex Suite is located a floor above the reception. Everywhere is accessible via stairs, no elevator on site. So pack light or else request for a room at ground floor.

The room has two floors. It comes with an attached bathroom and has all the basic amenities (coffee counter, toiletries, aircon, ceiling fan). Towel is upon request during check-in. What I love about the room is the tatami mat on the floor. The mat is very confortable to walk on and sit on.

Next, I went around the room and found some insect frass on one of the bed sheet. I immediately inform the owner to replace with a new one. The owner responded and the worker came in swiftly to change the bed sheet. For future improvement, I would recommend the owner to check the room cleanliness before the arrival of guest.

The room used basic blind as curtain, but some light managed to enter the room through the side during the night. This happen if you are sleeping on the top floor near to the side with window. This disrupt my sleep for the night that I need to use the pillow to keep the blind to the wall.

At 7 AM, I left the room for check out and was caught by the stunning view of the forest covered in fog. I informed the owner in advance that I will be leaving early and was advise to leave the room key at the reception counter. I did not manage to eat try their breakfast because I was in a rush, so I cannot comment on the breakfast.

A very pleasant stay. We had booked two deluxe suites and one duplex suite. Owner offered free upgrade for duplex suite to deluxe duplex suite but due to our preference on bedframe hence we retain the duplex suite. Really appreciate the offering and before our stay, we really thankful that all our questions are answered from their Whatsapp channel. If your are durian lover, I recommended you go on durian seasons, their musang king is Gred AAA with reasonable price. Boss is really friendly and nice. We are truly very lucky to meet the boss there, he treated us to taste many types of durians. Their durian very fresh and you will never get the same taste in other places. One night stay is really insufficient as the scenery looks like a painting background in each of our photos. Secondly, the weather is cooling as it is located at hilltop, it is very comfy and far away from the busy town.

They are offering free breakfast (Milo or tea or coffee, cake, kampung egg) free kitchen utensils to use, you may use their kitchen to cook by using your own ingredients. I would highly recommended to bring all the ingredients that you needed if you plan to do steamboat or bbq there so that you do not need to drive to town and buy after you drove to reached the hilltop. But I suggest if owner can prepare bbq ingredients for guest to purchase as an option during the room booking together with renting the bbq pits, it will be plus point.

This is really unforgettable stay. We definitely will bring more friends or family...

The place near Kg Bukit Tinggi town, around 10 minutes going out. Nearing to the place got small waterfall but be minded with the water might get muddy after raining. We are renting the whole place. Really recommended for group gathering or team building. Can fit up to 65pax, really accommodating my group. Please be aware of stairs that you need to climb but we consider as working out. Fully equipped kitchen, you can get all type of cutleries including the big basin. The staff really helpful, they helped us to cleanup during the night once after we finish with our dinner event. Nearing to check out still have a lot of balance food for us to clean up, they help us with that. You can get the best morning scenery, open cafeteria spaces to enjoy morning coffee and half cooked eggs. They have 2 karaoke room, so you got no hustle to use it. We rent whole place so we are using the room until 2 am, not bothering other room with the noise. All the room is filled with mini fridge, mineral water bottle and toiletries. It also have aircon and fan, with large toilet. Really comfortable king size bed. Need to take towel from the receptionist, nice smell towel. Not much indoor games can be done but you can play ping pong & swimming in the pool. Ping Pong bat need to take from receptionist.
