This was my first time at Sailor's Rest....and since I have heard so much about it, decided to have a go at this place.||We checked in on CNY ie 25th January, and stayed here for 2 nights. Let's just get straight to the point, shall we?||||Positive Points:||1. An aura of calmness greeted us as we entered the place. Janda Baik wasn't very far from KL, hence the drive was a smooth one.||||2. We were greeted upon check in by the owner himself, En. Hashim. He was most welcoming and gracious.||||3. The bungalow where we stayed in was actually the owner's house....granted, it wasn't spanking new. However, it was very clean and comfortable!||Truly, a HOME AWAY FROM HOME!||||4. We paid for the BBQ dinner on our 1st night....it was good.||||5. Breakfast for 2 days comprised of mainly 'kampung' fare. However, I certainly have no complaints there. Tasty....especially the nasi lemak.||||6. The place was serene....flora and fauna in abundance. We were considered lucky, as there were no monkeys on rampage during our stay there. It wasn't the fruit season I suppose.||||7. The glamping area was well maintained, and the facilities ie toilets were very clean.||||8. The river was easily accessible by steps....simply beautiful amidst the lush green of the surrounding area. Your stress just melted away!||||9. Staff was courteous and polite.||||10. The personal touch by the owner En. Hashim, and his lovely wife....was such a delight.||||11. Plenty of places to eat around the resort in Janda Baik, which was very convenient for us.||||Now, the Negative Points:||1. The surrounding area was pretty dark at night, thus putting us off from driving out...unless one was familiar with the area.||||2. The road leading to Sailor's Rest was pretty bumpy....perhaps the owner could consider premixing it for easier access?||||3. Granted...the place wasn't spanking new. However, some facilities/buildings do need a fair amount of renovation and perhaps an upgrade....while still maintaining the 'kampung' feel.||||4. There were plenty of trees, flowers and plants in the resort. However, a more proper and well designed landscaping would do wonders to the place.||||There you have it....so, in summary?? Of course, I will come back to Sailor's Rest@Janda Baik! It is a beautiful place with it's very own unique charm and attraction. A really nice place to just chill...and to forget the chaos of city life.||Thank you En. Hashim for the hospitality...you have a good...

Very friendly staff, especially the customer service able to answers all my questions before the trip, which give me a peace of mine to prepare ahead on what to expect from my trip. It was an awesome trip.|| • Location: The location is good, short drive from KL.|| • Car Park: Just beside the reception counter, with plenty of parking space|| • Check-in and Checkout: Easy and fast as no key was needed. Just a quick briefing by the friendly staff.|| • Tents: Book 5 tents, our tents are tip top condition and position next to each other. Clean bed sheets, stand fan and lights in the room. They have provided an extension power cord just enough to charge our mobile devices. You can hear the relaxing river stream flowing sound as our tents are just beside the river side.|| • Dinning Hall: Few steps away from our tents, it was spacious and windy (plenty of fans above us). Cleanness of hall are dependant on the guest, as the diners will need to make sure to put away the trash and used utensils in the designated area before they leave. Some chairs are dirty due to left overs crumbles leftover. Overall good place to sit and chat.|| • Restroom: The glamping site has 10 restrooms. I was spacious, clean and good lighting. It has a standing rain shower, toilet and small green garden.|| • BBQ Night: We rented 2 BBQ pit, our bbq dinner was the highlight of the trip. The BBQ rental was equipped with charcoal, fire starter, tongs and a simple standing BBQ pit. Skewers weren't provided, instead we line the grill pit with aluminium foil. We BBQ our dinner beside our tent area. They have garden table and chairs where we can sit as well. Do bring along your portable table, chairs and spotlight if you have any that would be very helpful.|| • Breakfast was simple and tasty selection. We had nasi lemak, fried bee hoon, sweet pop and a kuih.|| • River time: My kids had a fantastic river water playing time. The river was shallow with clean river water and river flow was steady.||||There are some minus points but not a big deal: ||• Location: A bit of bumpy road when entering the site. ||• BBQ Pit: Our bbq pit rental, suppose to comes with skewers, but it wasn't provided.||• Some part of the places can be seen a bit run down, the hanging bridge was broken when...

We booked their bungalow for just one night during the Deepavali holiday. We drove from Malacca in the afternoon, took the long old route from Sungai Pusu due to heavy traffic in Karak highway, greeted by heavy rain and really dark night after Genting Sempah (but it was amazingly dry once we got in Janda Baik), Google Maps brought us to the dead end road of an abandoned resort, eventually found our way to this place around 9 o'clock in the night. A bit tricky to get to the front door in the dark. It was late, no one was at the registration counter but they were expecting us, so it won't take long to check in. The bungalow is lovely and really worth it after the long drive. Spacious for seven of us, but just too many windows, I can't lock the sliding doors (I hope they fix that), frog singing loud, sound the river, everything else is unknown. The main bedroom is creepy for my wife, we let our children sleep there. Nothing disturbed our sleepsleep though. When the morning came, we just enjoyed the river and the surrounding area. We just realized that this place is just besides to Sugeh Resort and the river eventually connected to the one at Riverside. There are other options of accommodation including glamping and they do provide breakfast. We basically love this place.

Situated around 1.5 hour from KL, Sailor's Rest is situated in the deep part of Janda Baik. It's so deep into the woods, there's not much data signal, luckily there's WiFi. We were first greeted by the friendly owner, which explained the rules staying in the area (no food in the tents, no alcohol in the compound). We were brought through the compound, which is a clean and well managed garden. The options of accomodation are, a banglo, a yacht, a few chalets, and tents. We chose the tents for glamping (glamourous camping). The tents are situated just next to the river, you can play in it, but it's rather rocky so it's not so safe. But the compound environment is peaceful and well managed. All tents will use the common bathroom, which is comfortable and clean. Though the only downside is the water pressure was quite low (we were told the motor was damaged). They provided breakfast as well, a good spread of Malaysian food. Nearby the food options are quite limited, but there are a few good options of western and Malay food. Overall a good experience.

First time here and it was exactly what I needed. Sailor’s Rest offers just the right balance for anyone (kids friendly!) looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The space is big, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. There’s a clean, private river area that’s perfect for relaxing without any distractions. I stayed in a tent right by the river, best decision ever. Woke up to the sound of flowing water and the cool morning breeze. It was so calming and refreshing. Facilities were decent and well-maintained, especially the toilets (which is always a concern when staying outdoors). Nothing over the top, but the whole vibe of the place just felt right. Everything felt thoughtfully done to truly unwind. There’s also a BBQ area and you can request a bonfire, which added a nice touch to the whole experience. Spent 2 days and 1 night here and left feeling completely recharged. Will definitely come back!
