My husband and I booked a one night stay at VV, and here are my honest thoughts and reviews:
What we liked:
How gorgeous VV was. VV was perched on top of a hill and while it took us some time to get there, the chalets were beautiful and were a welcomed sight. It was very quiet and peaceful too so my husband and I had a very restful stay.
How attentive the staff were to our needs - they were quick to attend to us when we needed water, cutleries for the snacks we brought from home, etc.
The pool! It wasn’t a very big pool but it overlooked a lovely view.
What could be better:
The rooms had no aircon so it could get a bit warm during the day.
Moreover, there was interestingly no soap provided near the sink area, so I had to constantly go into the shower area and use the bath soap.
TV shows were limited and we had to sign in to our own Netflix account if we wanted to watch something.
There were a lot of mosquitoes in the morning and evening. It would be a very nice touch if VV included mozzie spray or cream as part of the toiletries.
There were very few things we could do at VV.
Hiking was RM 100 + per person.
There was space for us to do yoga but we had to bring our own mats and organise our own yoga sessions if we wanted to.
There was a space which had pool tables, but that was all.
Some suggestions for VV: In the same room where the pool table is, perhaps you can include a reading corner with books and magazines for the guests. Board games would be great too. Throw in some beanbags and perhaps even install a projector for a movie night? If you throw in freshly made popcorn, that would be a winning move Other activities - Cooking classes? Art classes? Your space is lovely, there are tons of activities that you can do
Food
Food tasted great but the options were limited. For a full-board, only 3 main meals were served. Coffee and tea were available throughout the day, with some biscuits, but for the premium price we paid for the stay, it would be great to receive more. Eg. Fruit platter along with a welcome drink, tea time snacks, etc.
What was more upsetting was how we were given the menu, but the items that were served were incomplete and did not match up to the description in the menu.
The breakfast menu stated that we would get 2 eggs, but we were served 1 egg. When we spoke to the waiter about it, he said “Oh so you want another egg?” To which we were incredulous, because all we really wanted was what was stated in the menu.
This repeated a few times during breakfast as several things were not served, including a salad with the house dressing, mushrooms, tomato confit, etc., which we raised to the waiter.
He eventually brought the items to us, but it made us quite upset at the thought that we had to ask for it, when it was in the menu.
This raised so many questions in me and left us pretty unhappy.
Overall, while this place looks gorgeous, it is not a place that gives me value for money. Especially not with the premium pricing for this stay.
The staff did mention that there are new initiatives coming up, so hopefully more positive reviews will emerge once they have been...

Awkward. ||Vanavasa is a full-board resort, which means 3 meals are included - breakfast, lunch and dinner. A few examples:|- When the menu stated 2 farm eggs, we were served only 1. When we inquired about the inconsistency, we were asked, “Oh, you want another egg?” Erm, I just want what the menu says. |- Items were missing from our plate (compared with the menu). And when we inquired on the inconsistency, we were eventually served the missing items after a few minutes. If the items were indeed available, why were they omitted from the plate in the first place? Were they trying to shortchange us? |- There was even once when the menu stated that there would be assorted cakes and cut fruits with our lunch. The waiter said they were only serving fruits as they had served cake for dinner the previous day and that cake was now no longer available. And when we raised the matter that they should have at least informed us, lo and behold, cakes appeared after a few minutes together with fruits. Why the smoke and mirrors??||Besides the pool (which is nice) and gym (v small), there really isn’t much to do there if you are looking for activities. The website lists down a jungle walk - payable.
