My other half booked a couple of rooms through Booking.com for the 2017 new year weekend for two nights. When we got there, I got the shock of my life because, for such a price, our rooms had no windows to the actual outside world but what I call the laundry area with a transparent roofing for some bits of sunlight. We asked for one room with a window... which they said were the bigger rooms but kept the other small room (level 2). This was okay-ed by the boss himself. The room was facing the road in front of the hotel itself and... honestly, if you're a light sleeper... don't get this room. It's noisy and we didn't get much sleep until well after midnight.||||We couldn't stay in that room for our second night in Pangkor because all the rooms had been booked, so we had to move back to the original small room allocated to us. Now... here's the thing... We didn't pay any extra for that bigger room because what we pay for one small windowless room was more than the cost of one big room itself! ||||When we moved to the original small room on level 1, it was dusty. But the bathroom is better than the one at the bigger room... ironically... although both floors were quite slippery and we slipped a number of times - both us adults and pre-schooler.||||The beds, specially in the small room were so light you could easily move it around with a whisper! The room was pretty small for a family of two adults and a pre-schooler we had to keep pushing the beds back in place. ||||Beds didn't give me any good sleep... sorry. It was stuffy so we turned on the air-cond but that would make it a bit chilly... so it was really inconvenient and uncomfortable and a conflict... Blankets were thin and short.||||Just outside of our room was a counter with water dispensers for both cold and hot water. There was also a sink.||||Honestly... I have totally no idea how that hotel could get a Tripadvisor recommendation... because, for the life of me, I wouldn't stay there again. There are other resorts to choose from... including homestays. Plenty of service apartments too! It was too bad that all were booked up for the new year holiday... Gosh, what an experience... the only consolation was the pink taxis cost a standard rate of rm10.00 and the drivers were great tourists ambassadors. One took us around the small island to see a few nice things. The beaches were nice and great too... although the sea is not as clear as the ones on the east coast. Lots of activities available including horse riding.||||Service by the staff... it's okay. ||||Best Stay? I don't think so... ...
Read moreWe booked a deluxe room based on the room photos and reviews. The moment we walked in the hotel, we got the shock of our life. The rooms are extremely tiny, claustrophobic, dirty, stinky, stuffy and nowhere close to the pictures provided. The photos are clearly photoshoped. There is zero room service. No phones to even call anybody. If you want something, you have to go down the stairs to the reception and then climb up really steep stairs, two floors to reach your room. No lift. There were two cups - no tea or coffee sachets, a steel jug - no water. LOL! Cheap furnishing, dirty bedsheets, old rugged towels. The shower leaked all day. The water clogged in the washbasin and there was nothing the hotel staff could do to fix them. They offered another room but with the same issues of leakage and water clogging. It's way overpriced for the standard it offers. The receptionist doesn't understand English. Says a few words in English but incomprehensible. They were polite though. Good people, just bad service and no amenities. There is no bar or free maid service as mentioned in some of the websites. No room service. Wall paint chipping off. I won't stay there ever, not even for free. You would rather stay in chalets that are much cheaper than this so called hotel. At least the chalets don't put up deceptive photos or descriptions, neither do they lie about their amenities. Extremely disappointed with the place. I have no idea how or why it's rated and reviewed the way it is. Worst experience...
