The drive there is half the adventure—narrow roads, stray dogs, and a kampung that feels frozen in time. It’s the sort of place where you can hear yourself think... until 9 a.m., when the vacuums fire up and the morning noise begins. Thin walls mean you'll know exactly when the neighbours decide to take a shower, sneeze, or start a karaoke session.
There’s also a swimming pool at the centre of it all. Not Olympic-sized, but enough to make kids scream with joy. Sometimes it’s deserted, and you get this rare, meditative peace for days. Like most things here, it depends on your timing and your luck.
Rooms come in two flavours: standard room, or a Mongolian yurt. The yurt is quirky and makes for a great Instagram post—but it’s hot, cramped, and the kind of novelty that wears off fast when the air con starts choking or the mattress creaks like a sampan. Still, if you’ve got kids, they’ll love it. It's a tent with Wi-Fi, a TV, and sometimes even a jacuzzi.
Cleanliness is a mixed bag. Some rooms are spotless; others seem like they haven’t seen a mop since the last rainy season. Mouldy shower curtains, dusty corners, mystery stains. One room might smell like lavender, the next like lizard poo and mildew.
What redeems the place are the people. Staff are warm, helpful, even cheerful. Gracious, full of local tips, and clearly trying to run a resort in a place that was never built for one. They’ll help you park. They’ll help you check in. They’ll smile even when things break down.
There’s no restaurant, no room service. You’ll have to forage for food in town, or ride one of their rental bikes through the kampung to chase down curry mee and iced coffee. You’ll love the experience or hate it. Either way, you...
Read moreI recently stayed at Rick Resort in Teluk Intan, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The resort is overrated and overpriced for what is essentially a budget accommodation with minimal amenities. Next time, don’t be fooled with photos in Agoda or Booking!!!
Pros: •The bed setup is unique, but that’s about it. •The open-air dining area has a slightly rustic feel.
Cons: •Overpriced for the quality: The place feels more like a low-cost budget motel, but the price doesn’t reflect that. RM 200-280 for a small room for 3? •Far from town: If you need anything, be prepared to drive as there’s nothing within walking distance. •No food provided: For the price, you would expect at least some basic breakfast or dining options. Instead, you have to bring your own food or find something elsewhere. •Basic facilities: The bathroom is just functional, nothing special, and lacks comfort. The rooms are cramped and not well-maintained. •Nothing much to do: If you’re looking for activities, this isn’t the place. There’s no entertainment, attractions, or unique experiences offered.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re desperate for accommodation in the area. You can find better options for the same or even lower...

Check in is at a different hotel located about 1km away. Imagine having to walk 1km in the rain just to check in, then walk another 1km back in the rain here.
Staffs are not apologetic when told what to improve. I told them they could have informed about check in location by email. First they insisted that there's no way they can do so, then they said they have informed by email, which they obviously didn't.
Wifi is extremely slow in our room.
Corridor smells moldy
Room toilet smells bad too
There's no kettle or water cooler for refilling of water.
No hot shower. No water came out when we turn the tap to hot.
Some how shower gel and shampoo provided are of different level and looked used.
Aircon isn't cold despite setting it to 16 degree.
Fan is noisy.
Only book this place if you can take the above. They take zero effort in running this place.
I will give zero star...
