From the moment we arrived, we absolutely loved our stay here. If you're looking for a beautiful, eco-friendly retreat created and run by people who genuinely care about the environment, this is the place for you.||||Fred, the owner, built this Ecolodge himself with a clear mission: to be 100% sustainable. Every aspect of the property reflects that goal—everything is green, circular, and thoughtfully designed. The lodge is impressively clean, well-maintained, and full of character.||||The rooms are spacious, freshly renovated, and each comes with its own private bathroom. We stayed in the Double Room, which was very comfortable and equipped with a fan—perfect for keeping cool at night.||||All the essentials are available on-site, including kayak and snorkeling gear rentals, which made exploring the area super convenient.||||One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the food. Sook Peng, Fred’s wife, is not only an incredible cook but also a truly warm and welcoming person. Sharing meals with her was a joy, and her cooking made every meal memorable.||||There are also cozy hammocks for relaxing, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind.||||We couldn't recommend this place more highly—it's a rare gem built with heart and purpose.||||Oh, I was almost forgetting, both land and sea transfer are managed by Fred and Sook Peng and everything went smoothly.||||We absolutely loved everything about the property—Fred’s lodge and surrounding grounds are beautifully maintained and truly idyllic. The only downside, as noted by other reviewers as well, is the amount of rubbish found around the rest of the island.||||Unfortunately, due to a lack of regional waste management, plastic waste has accumulated in many areas. It's a stark contrast to the care and cleanliness of the lodge itself and can be quite shocking when exploring beyond the ||property.||||Terima kasih Fred...
Read moreCalm and tranquil eco lodge on the beautiful Mantanini Island. This lodge is off grid and off the beaten track and is only reached by a 45 minute spead boat transfer. Owned and managed by Fred and his wife SP, who on enquiry by ourselves explained their ethos and the vision behind their creation of the lodge. We stayed in the beach side house which comes complete with outside furniture including sunbeds and hammocks with direct access onto the shoreline. The location is stunning with breathtaking sunsets and clear warm clear sea. We were in and out of the water throughout our stay. We booked half board accomadation but quickly realised we needed to upgrade to full board catering as the island has no other means to buy food. SP is a talented cook, her food was plentiful of Asian variety. On request our hosts arranged a boat trip with a local fisherman so we could snorkel around the off shore coral reefs. Our stay exceeded our expectations, the location was exceptional and the gorgeous food a highlight. We really were living the dream on a desert island. But if you are after a 5 star all inclusive resort this really isn't the place for you. You will be staying in off grid eco lodge run by the hard working Fred and...
Read morePlease notice that we didn't stay at this property!! But i would like to share with you the following: We were staying 200 metres away from this property at wonderful Norsha homestay, an excellent value for money stay and every evening during sunset time, we were walking along the beach to enjoy the sunset views. One day and as we were in front of ecolodge we had an one minute pause because it was exactly sunset time. My husband sat on the sand and i sat on a swing which was in front of property. And you can't believe what happened!! The owner came towards me and i was prepared to discuss with him saying how lovely is at this island and he only informed me that the swing was ONLY for guests and i had to move.!!!! There were only two guests outside lodge and beach was totally empty. I didn't like his behaviour, i don't know more about staying there but i found it very unpolite. For Norsha homestay I've written a...
