It is situated on top of the hill and thus had a nice view of the sea and, Kapas and Gemia island. Check-in was easy and receptionist is quite friendly. But, yes there's a but in here, this guesthouse chalet ( based on the one that we got ) is so poorly managed. It has a small verandah with a chair and a table that looks like a school table and isn't properly put as it's end is almost broken. The bed is not comfortable at all unfortunately as we can feel its springs when we sat on it. No mirror in both bed and bathroom. No small desk or small wardrobe at least to put our belongings, only an open small cupboard is provided. But there's no place to hang clothes, just a line of rope to hang towels/clothes nailed on the wall. It's hard when we need to hang wet clothes. Can't even find at least a nail on the wall to hang trousers. :P Bathroom is the worse part. No sitting toilet but that's okay as long as it's clean. Unfortunately again, it's not. Broken tiles, unclean tiles grout lines and slow water pressure. No soap and shampoo, no place to put toiletries and again no place to hang towels. :/ We don't mind this chalet, in fact we love its surrounding and scenic view but the fact that its conditions is very poor makes us feel so uncomfortable to stay here again. Unless they make an effort to upgrade their property as the benefits is not just for the guests but for its owner too. Much of them stay here before heading to the islands. The beautiful view and calm surrounding is their...
Read moreThe worst place I have ever stayed. Not for the actual physical appearance or guesthouse it's self but purely for the strange unwelcoming staff. Be careful. We were part of a scam were we were sat in the waiting room using the wifi before going to sleep and two men arrived in a minni bus in regular clothes they insisted on seing our passports and claimed it was a regular check part of the hotels service but they then tried to photograph my boyfriends passport which we ensured they deleted the photograph and then showed false police id badges and claimed to be officials. This was all a lie and a scam and we since found out that MGH the boat service own this guesthouse and they do this to make people feel uncomfortable so you take their boat and stay in there accommodation on the island so they can look after you. However they set up this scam. We used the Suria Link boat service with Zac and mamat and stayed at kapas turtle valley. We were made to feel very unsafe here always people walking around amongst the rooms and staff changing over. But if you arrive late and miss the boat to kapas when your on a budget it's almost your only option so...
Read moreI stayed here a couple of years ago (2010) and gave it another visit this trip.||||The little cabins are basic, but what do you expect for RM60 a night for a room with aircon?||||The room was clean, the sheets were clean, and the bed was comfortable to sleep on. ||||There is a food stall right out the front of the place on the road that leads from the main highway to the old village, but it is only open nights. There is a series of food stalls in the village that are open principally for breakfast and dinner, as well as a wet and produce market selling fruit and veggies as well as the fish the locals have caught.||||Got a little jealous as this property overlooks the swimming pool of the Hotel Seri Malaysia next door, which is a lot more expensive and better for those who want something a little more up market. This place also organises tickets and trips to...
