OYO 90180 Gemilang Hotel Kerteh — Hotel in Terengganu

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST

Booked a room at this hotel on 21/7/2023 @ 2 PM. Received booking confirmation instantly.

Went to the hotel that evening for check in. No receptionist available. Had to call a number to inform that you want to check in. No problem yet.

Informed the ‘receptionist’ named Fikrey. First red flag; first whatsapp message received was: “Salam Hotel Gemilang Kerteh. Name” So friendly for a receptionist kan?

Told to wait to check the booking. After a while, been told by him that there was no booking under my name. At this point I was annoyed. How come I received a BOOKING CONFIRMATION but been told they never received the booking? Who confirmed my booking? The so called receptionist only gave me one answer. “I don’t know. Ask OYO.” What the hell? I thought as a receptionist at least you should be more helpful? But the answer given not helping much is it?

Checked my bank account, the payment already credited to OYO. Showed him the screenshot. As expected, not so very helpful. The only answer given “Ask OYO.”

I was so annoyed. Showed to him why I’m upset. It was so inconvenient for me to look for a new hotel at 7.30 pm. But he doesn’t care. Was rudely replying to my message.

Stupid system. Troublesome. Poor service. Now I need to go and look for another hotel to stay in.

To OYO: next time put someone who is more helpful than this fella at FRONTDESK. Don’t think he really likes his job anyway.

To those of you looking. Go to Homestay Mesra nearby instead. Around the same price. Better system. Good enough...

We arrived at mid day to find out that the hotel is at second floor. No traditional front office. We had to wander around until the check in time and Kerteh (without car) is pretty much not a walkabout place.|We rented a family room. Two double beds+bathroom+tv+fan+AC. Basic but OK. The hotel is next to the East Coast road so expect to hear cars rumble deep into the night. Local restaurants are about 10 minutes walk. There is a 7 eleven store too nearby. |I guess not too bad for a budget hotel. Btw apart from the need to carry your luggages upstairs you need to leave your shoes at the top of the stairs, before entering...

Worth it with prices But they just give one towel for two people and when i ask for one more towel no answer from the admin only tomorrow morning i get it from the cleaner after ask it by my self.
