The most amazing resort and holiday destination ever!!! Highly reccomend, this once in a liftime holiday!! Straight from arrival in Male airport everything is so well organised, you are immediately apprached by the resort staff and guided all the way until you arrive on the island so it is a stress free experience. The rooms are amazing and the views from the room (we stayed in a sunset water bungalow) are stunning. The rooms are very open plan with a walk in shower and bath separated only by a glass screen, but you can also pull timber panels to conceal completely. Generally the island is absolutely stunning and so pristine with absolutely stunning views wherever you look, as you can expect from maldives. The beaches are gorgeus and the have staff cleaning all areas on a constant basis to have perfect white sand all the time. We stayed at the end of July and the weather was absolutely fine. On the first day it rained for an hour or so but apart from that it was very sunny that day, on the second day there was rain and wind in the evening on an otherwise sunny day. The third night was the only one in which we had a storm that lasted the whole night. After that, we had 5 full days of sun with not a single drop of rain or wind. Even when it did rain, we had plenty of sun, so I don’t reccomend avoiding the rainy season at all. The rain is a joy when it comes as it’s still very warm I love the sound of the rain. However if you are scared of storms, then Maldives isn’t for you. The sea water is so warm and absolutely lovely to stay in. The staff are very friendly, kind and polite so we felt very welcome there. Thank you to all the staff around the island esspecially our room cleaner, our designated waiter and the gentleman looking after the pool area, they were all very helpful and smiley all the time which made it a very comfortable and enjoyable environment. The room cleaner gave us his charger for the whole stay after our one stopped working which was like a life saver so thank you and the gentleman looking after the pool area when he saw me collecting shells he brought me an amazing set of shells that he had collected which was very kind of him. Thank you once again! Finally thank you to the very kind and friendly Shamma who is a receptionist but also a photographer. She offered to do a photography shoot for us one afternoon and she took the most amazing photos, so thank you for that and for anyone looking to have a photoshoot on this resort, please ask for Shamma. I will add some photos for everyone to see her amazing work. Few negatives from the resort are: - Food options are 90% asian (predominantly indian). I personally enjoy this type of food but my wife not so much and she didn’t have many options. There are a lot of european people at the resort so mediteranen (greek/italian) dishes would have been good, as well as some standard fast food options; the only options were pizza which was served just for lunch but not on all occasions and very rarely french fries. - Bars had 4 mocktail options so as a non alcoholic drinker it would have been good to have a few more option. - Jacuzzi and the main pool had sea water rather than fresh water. The benefit is that they are the same temperature as the seawater which is very warm, but I would have liked them to be with fresh water because if I want sea water I go in the sea. - Finally, as a bit of a caution, if paying anything in cash make sure you count your money properly and keep an eye on the cashier when they are counting. We paid for the seaplane transfers in cash and when I handed the cashier €350, he first complained about the quality of one of the notes which might have been a deceptive tactic because after I replaced it he tells me that I’ve actually only given him €300. I am 99% sure I counted the money correctly, but I didn’t want to enter into an argument with the cashier and call him a thief just for €50 so I left it at that and gave him another €50 note, but just be careful. Overall still a 5/5 experience so thank you!

We stayed here for 5 nights in March 2023 and it was amazing. We were blessed with great weather the full stay. As soon as you get to the property it is stunning. The colors are surreal. This being our first stay in Maldives, we do not have similar stays for comparison. We read one negative review that said this property is only good for people who have never been to any other Maldives properties which was great to hear as we had an amazing time and that means we can only get better LOL. The grounds are impeccable with them raking coral from the beaches daily, walking paths always being raked, beautifully spots with swings for pictures. At low tide there are sand bars that are spectacular. The ocean life outside of the water bungalow rooms is like nothing I’ve seen before. We saw more species of fish that I’ve probably seen ever. We were lucky to see some black tip reef sharks from the property and blessed to have a school of dolphins swim by our deck one morning doing tricks and jumping as if it were a dream. The staff were very responsive and service was 5 stars. The rooms were very spacious, the AC worked unbelievably well. We paid for the upgraded premium all inclusive and I would definitely recommend that option as it included massages, excursions, a beach private dinner along with the additional drinks for a very affordable price. The food at all meals was spectacular. We ate the buffet for all meals except our one private dinner and each was great. We found ourselves eating more than we would have liked to because it was to die for. The presentation was always great too. With our stay, we were given two free excursions but with us being limited to 5 days, only 1/3 we wanted to do fell on days we were there. We did the sandbank tour and honestly would pass if given the opportunity again. If we had to pay the $75USD we would be quite disappointed, but with it being “included” in our premium package, it was Ok. We saw some small reef tip sharks swimming in the shallow waters, but the sand, views, and water at the resort is nicer than the island so no point in leaving. We also upgraded to the sunset view rooms with the outdoor jacuzzi and it was well worth it. We ended up using the outdoor jacuzzi way more than we anticipated. These decks also have more privacy as there is an additional screen as compared to the non sunset view rooms. And of course the sunset views were spectacular. The views regardless from any room were great. The decks very spacious. Made a person not want to leave their room. We had a few complaints during our stay but all very minor. we were supposed to get turndown service each evening with chocolates which we only received on our last night, and we were going to use our large soaker tub one evening but the water coming from the taps was brown and even after running a long time still had a brown tinge to it which was a bit of a turn off. We also found some of the cocktail drinks not very good. Luckily we had the premium all inclusive so we could just try another, but found it strange that we found more drinks not great than great. At the buffet they have specific tables assigned based on your room and they slowly move people closer to the edge with ocean views as other groups leave. We unfortunately after 5 days still didn’t make it to being closest to the water but watched groups go from the third row to first within a few days. Lastly the pool is in need of a upgrade. It being the largest eyesore on the island. With the beautiful ocean all around it didn’t affect us, but we were surprised to read reviews from 5 months ago also complaining about the pool. Looks like it had a finish of some sort and it was ripped off and just some brown pieces and residue remnants remain. These may bother some people that have a higher taste than us but very minor in our eyes and we had an incredible stay. We would definitely return.

I never normally write reviews, but this one absolutely had to be written. This resort is truly out of this world – I would recommend it to absolutely everyone. We came here for a special trip as I thought it would be the perfect location to propose to my new fiancée, and I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t pick anywhere else. Words can’t truly capture how warm, accommodating, and genuinely caring every single member of the team is. I’m so sorry if I forget to mention anyone by name, but you were all incredible. A special mention goes to Malithi, the lovely lady working at the bars (and occasionally the pool bar), as well as Gayan, who was also such a pleasure to chat to – both of you made every interaction feel so warm and friendly. Rahish, our exceptional waiter at the restaurant, also deserves huge praise for making every meal feel so special. The food itself was outstanding – the quality and choice were second to none – but Rahish’s attention to detail took it to another level. He even arranged for the island’s doctor to be available straight after breakfast one morning after I injured my foot playing football – little touches like that go a very long way! We’d also like to thank Prasad at the restaurant, the lovely lady from Sri Lanka who has been at the cooking counters for just under four months, and the incredibly kind lady who hosts the restaurant and helped arrange the most perfect outdoor meal to celebrate our engagement. I’m so sorry for forgetting your names, but we truly couldn’t thank you enough for your warmth and effort. If I could name every single member of staff, I absolutely would! Housekeeping service was also absolutely spot on – so attentive and efficient, always making sure our room was perfectly refreshed while we were at breakfast. Even the lovely ladies who come onto the island daily to keep it pristine deserve a mention; I’m not sure if they are part of the resort team or outsourced, but every one of them was warm, friendly, and an absolute pleasure to chat to each day. The entire team radiates genuine kindness and hospitality. The organisation of a romantic beach dinner to celebrate our engagement was absolutely perfect, a memory I’ll cherish forever. I’d also like to thank Juni and Utami from the spa for their incredible attentiveness and warm, welcoming nature – the treatments were amazing. I’ve been fortunate to travel to many countries and luxury hotels around the world, but this experience is one I will never forget. Management were fantastic too, regularly checking in to ensure everything was perfect, and the whole team’s dedication to guest satisfaction is clear in every interaction. As someone who works in corporate customer success, I can confidently say this resort’s culture of genuine care and service is truly exemplary. And finally, a note on the resort itself: it’s absolutely stunning. I’ve focused so much on the service because it truly sets this place apart, but the island, facilities, and aesthetics are every bit as exceptional. The resort is spotless, truly 5-star, and located in a dreamy part of the Maldives with incredible coral reefs for snorkelling and the softest white sand beaches. Our water villa was breathtaking, with unbeatable views and a sense of total tranquillity. This was the trip of a lifetime, and I cannot recommend this resort highly enough. A solid 10/10 – absolutely faultless in every way!

Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives – A Slice of Heaven: The Ultimate Choice for a Perfect Vacation!|A dreamy blend of stunning overwater villas, breathtaking coral reefs, and heartfelt service!||I just returned from Cinnamon Velifushi, and I must say – it was the most perfect vacation I’ve ever experienced! This little paradise in Vaavu Atoll, Maldives, exceeded all my expectations.||1. Excellent Location|The rooms are incredibly comfortable and beautiful, especially the overwater villas with the best views and easy diving access. Each villa is well-equipped with ample storage, a spacious bathroom, and a minibar stocked with complimentary soft drinks. The house reef is magnificent – we spotted squid, stingrays, sharks, and many other beautiful marine creatures!||2. Fun and Engaging Activities|The dolphin cruise was absolutely fantastic and worth every penny! The two-hour trip included an hour of sailing and an hour of dolphin chasing – we saw so many dolphins that we lost count! The crew even took family photos for us. On our last day, we signed up for a knee-boarding session for the kids. The staff generously extended our time beyond the scheduled 30 minutes – it was such a cool experience!||A special shout-out to the crew of the dolphin cruise on August 25 serving Villa 421, and the knee-boarding staff on August 27 – you made our time in a foreign land truly enjoyable and relaxing!||3. Heartwarming Service|If you can find a single mosquito or a cold face at Velifushi, I’d be amazed! Every staff member greets you with a warm smile and is always ready to help. They treat you like family, asking "How are you today?" countless times a day. Even the buggy drivers stop from afar to let you pass.||We were especially touched when the restaurant team surprised us with a traditional Maldivian birthday celebration – they gathered around, sang "Happy Birthday" in Chinese, and the saxophonist even played "The Moon Represents My Heart" knowing we were from China. The warmth and sincerity made us feel completely at home – this is what a real vacation should be!||Special thanks to the following incredible staff:||· Shiela Marie (Front Desk): Efficiently resolved all our issues, upgraded both our rooms, and reminded us to join pre-departure activities. Her gentle and patient service made our seven-day stay warm and memorable.||· Malvika (Front Desk): We met during departure and hit it off instantly. She kindly invited us to wait in the lounge due to a seaplane delay and saw us off at the dock with waves until we were out of sight.||· lzfa (Front Desk): Helped us check our bill patiently, chatted with us like a friend, and reminded us about unused credits. I’ll definitely miss this beautiful island and her.||· Jahirul (Luggage Assistant): Always cheerful and helpful with our heavy luggage, even when we made mistakes with the bags. We wish him good health and smooth work!||· Housekeeper of Villa 421 (Aug 20-27): Though I didn’t get your name, thank you for surprising us with a "Happy Birthday" arrangement in Chinese! So thoughtful!||· Nishantha (Laundry Service): For just $50, we enjoyed unlimited laundry for seven days. Clothes were picked up at 10 AM and returned clean and folded by afternoon – efficient and professional!||· Maam, Shanaka Earnest, and Nethimi (Restaurant Staff): Maam was attentive and remembered my mom’s preference to avoid sun; Shanaka was the life of the restaurant; Nethimi always had a sweet smile.||· The Birthday Celebration Team (Aug 22 for Villa 421): Thank you for the surprise song and cake – even singing in Chinese! You all really made me the happiest birthday ever in my life!||· The Beach Dinner Team (Aug 26 for Villas 421 & 338): Set up a romantic candlelit dinner with delicious lobster – it was unforgettable!||· Nia, Raham, Utami, and Lia (Spa Team): The spa experience was top-notch! From the kneeling service to customized treatments, we were so relaxed we fell asleep. Highly recommend!||4. Delicious Dining|The menu changes daily, featuring fresh seafood BBQ. I thought I might not like the food, but I ended up gaining a few pounds! The managers often checked on the dishes and assisted guests. Once, when the BBQ line was long, a manager kindly took our plates and had the food delivered to our table – such smart and thoughtful service!||I highly recommend Cinnamon Velifushi to anyone looking for the perfect Maldivian escape. It offers natural beauty, luxurious stays, delicious food, and exceptional service – truly great value for money!||We’re already planning our next visit!||Posted in...

I stayed here with my husband for our honeymoon for 6 nights (PAI package).

Firstly, the customer service before we even got to the resort was amazing. I had so many questions about amenities, package prices, seaplane vs. speedboat transportation and excursions. Rafa always answered my questions in a timely manner and enthusiastically so thank you for being patient with all my questions.

Now on to the actual vacation. We took the sea plane for transportation which is worth the extra $ compared to the speed boat. This is because the views are amazing (I recommend you sit in the first row by the window closest to the pilots as the propellors don't block your view). The time is also 25 minute ride via seaplane or 1.5 hour boat ride via speedboat. Our concern was that in the rainy season if the seas were rough we could get seasick easily and the ride is so long. Just know that when you arrive at the airport, your plane will not depart right away as the seaplane company groups you up with other travelers. We waited about 1.5 hours to leave and stopped by 1 resort before arriving at Cinnamon Velifushi.

We stayed in Room 323, and would recommend to anyone in an Overwater Bungalow to stay here (or close to here) as the side facing the VAH restaurant was more private compared to the other side facing the beach bungalows. It was only a short swim away to the reef edge and we saw so many animals while snorkeling. Thank you to the resort for giving us our preferred spot for staying! I would recommend if you can fit some small floaties into your luggage to bring them as it was nice to just float in the ocean. Also bring your own snorkeling gear as it's pretty pricey to rent. If you want to buy gear here, I saw that the shop was selling sets for ~$95 USD which is expensive. Also bring lots of sunscreen as the UV is stronger here but no need for bug spray as we didn't see any mosquitos.

The room is cleaned 2x a day, and our housekeeper always had our room swept and tidy. There's a foot wash sink in the washroom as well since you will be tracking in sand from outside the room. The toilet and shower are in different areas of the room though, so it's separate. With PAI they also restock the mini bar once a day, and give chocolates at night time before bed.

The resort staff were some of the kindest people and would always bring a smile to our face, saying good morning everyday. They work so hard to keep the resort clean sweeping the sand, raking all the shells so thank you for the great upkeep of the resort! A worker at the front desk lent me her hair tie as well since I forgot one.

The food was pretty good for a buffet, there were always different food from various cuisines (Asian, Indian, Western) so there's something for everyone. We loved the pasta station for lunch and dinner. We also had a beach dinner as part of the PAI package, which was amazing! Also, our server was so nice and soft-spoken, he always knew what drinks we wanted for breakfast and lunch and would always ask how our day was.

For excursions with PAI, we chose the sunset fishing and dolphin cruise. The sunset fishing was a fun experience but warning it starts out pretty slow since you have to wait for the fish to bite. Out of the 4 couples on our trip, each couple caught at least 1 fish and then it's grilled for your lunch/dinner the next day. For the dolphin cruise, our group lucked out as we found dolphins closer to the second half of the trip and followed them around for over 30 minutes. We even saw a dolphin do a barrel roll! Highly recommend both excursions but just know there are no guarantees to catch fish or see dolphins.

Hidden gems at the resort: Go to the jetty area around 8:30-10:00pm to see nurse sharks feeding Star gazing late at night and watch the fish below the hammock at night if you have an overwater bungalow

Overall, we had an amazing experience and would recommend this resort to others. Even in July for the "rainy" season it only rained 1 night for 4 hours. Thank you for an...
