I will start my comment on a funny note. I mean the place looked too good to be true especially for the price, i thought this was a scam. Since i did the booking for the entire group i was lowkey stresssed. 🥲
Anyway i am leaving my first ever review ever , just for this hotel.
If you’re looking for that warm, local Maldivian feel with a touch of Studio Ghibli magic this might just be the perfect place for you. You know if you are a reader- iykyk, (one of those light hearted japanese novels. But Maldivian). If that makes sense.
The guest house feels incredibly homey, surrounded by lush trees and greenery throughout the property. There’s something so peaceful about waking up to the gentle rustle of leaves and seeing the dhatha lovingly trim and water the plants early in the morning — a quiet ritual that adds so much soul to the space. (I’ll attach photos of the space but they won’t do it justice.) i have never slept this well at a hotel😅 it was so clean. sooo clean.
Honestly, I don’t want to over-describe the beauty and spoil it. It’s something you need to see and feel for yourself. It truly has Studio Ghibli vibes.
One piece of advice: don’t just book for 3 days. Stay for at least 7–10 days. You’ll thank yourself later. lets talk about food, You would not get this amount of delicious food anywhere else , you just know , they put in so much love in everything they do. I always have trouble with food wherever i go. I miss my mums homecooked meals after 2 days 🫣. But this one was a home away from home. They took such great care for us.
With other local islands, we usually book snorkeling and other activities ourselves. But this time we regretted it so much. Because their offer was so much better. The same - coral garden viewing - fish feeding ( when i tell you, thats like under stating it though. The fish feeding ground has these beautiful biiiig fishes and you get to swim with them), fishing trips, and to see the most beautiful beaches you possibly would see in Maldives. ( the little uninhabited island , innfushi is such a beautiful island) As a Maldivian i could vouch this is the most Maldivian experience i had in a while.
Not just the guest house and the lovely family who take care of it. But the people of the island are so kind and welcoming. I am yet to visit another island who would top this level of hospitality
We are a group of 9 people who travel often to islands. And this is our second trip in baa atoll. ( the atoll just leaves you wanting more. It still isnt enough)
Did i miss anything though. they have this delicious ice cream do get the local “juice petty “ from the island. Its good and the rooms were soooooooo clean and if you guys see this message We wish you guys stay booked and busy. And to the lovely dhahtha, we extend a warm hug. We misss it even after a month. Cannot wait to visit again.
Thinking about this place makes our hearts warm and happy, truly
If this comment made you want to go here. I hope you leave a review. Cause i personally am curious as to see how someone else would experience it.
And oh, the beautiful carvings on the walls, to some furnitures and interior is done by the himself. Ok i...
Read moreWe stayed at The Corbin for 9 nights and it was amazing!!! Shai and Aiman were so sweet, caring and did absolutely everything they could to make our stay feel like a dream. On our first day they greet us with flowers necklaces and then took us to tour of the island- genius idea! We went on 3 trips and each was perfect. Idyllic picnic beach, snorkeling, surfing among dolphins and watching manta rays- everything was perfect! We asked for many trips to be organized and they did everything they could to let us get to know the beautiful, local side of the Maldives. They even invited us to an evening barbecue on the beach with their family and other guests- an amazing experience. Shai is the best photographer, and catches every single moment of our journey. You can see the huge amount of work and heart that the family puts into creating this place. The place is quite small which adds to a family atmosphere. The rooms were cleaned every day, towels and bedding regularly changed. Everything was clean and the rooms were surrounded by beautiful plants that the owners' mother takes care of. An additional plus for the shower and hangers outside the rooms :). A great chef who prepared delicious food with the possibility of delivery to the bikini beach. As far as the bikini beach is concerned it is 10 minutes by bike (you can rent it for 5 dollars per day) from the guest house and looks like something out of this world and in addition it is empty (we were the only ones there, practically the whole trip). The island is quite small (800 inhabitants) which made us feel at home. A beautiful pitch and skatepark 3 minutes by bike. The shop literally 2 minutes on foot. Everything you may need was close. Everyone was always smiling and willing to help. Shai talks with sincere interest about life and culture on the island which helped us get to know it better. The owners did absolutely everything to make us remember this trip! You can really feel at home. The owners often talked to us so we could get to know each other better but also made sure that everything was to our liking. Evening conversations moved me to tears more than once - a wonderful place created by wonderful people who do everything to make us feel good. At the end we got gifts which was lovely. I have no complaints . I have never met owners like that - they are simply wonderful people with good hearts who did everything to make us smile and feel at home, among family. I think words can't describe the warmth that Shai and Aiman create. I will definitely go back to The Corbin!...
Read moreStaying at Corbin Guesthouse was truly one of the most comforting and heartwarming experiences I’ve had while traveling. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine smiles and warmth by the family who owns and runs the place. Every member is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and welcoming; it felt like being part of their home rather than just a guest.
The rooms are perfectly cozy, spotless, and filled with little touches that make you feel completely at ease. Soft linens, calming interiors, and the kind of cleanliness that only comes from genuine care; it’s a space that invites rest and peace.
The guesthouse itself is nestled in a beautiful, green haven. Lush plants and flowers surround the property, giving it a refreshing, serene vibe that’s perfect for anyone needing a break from the noise of the world. Waking up to the sound of birds and sipping tea in the greenery was my favorite part of the day.
And the food was absolutely delicious! Homemade, flavorful, and served with love. You can tell it’s prepared with the same care they show in every other part of their service. Every meal felt like a warm hug.
What stood out to me most was the atmosphere. There’s a calmness here that’s rare. The staff never felt like staff; they were more like friends making sure you were comfortable and happy. They were always considerate, going above and beyond for even the smallest requests.
If you’re looking for a place that combines warm hospitality, peaceful surroundings, delicious food, and impeccable cleanliness, Corbin Guesthouse is it. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a place to feel cared for.
Can’t wait to...
