Adaaran Club Rannalhi Paradise Getaway!! |Sabina was our fantastic personal waitress whose eye for detail and friendly chat made meal times relaxed and comfortable as well as the incredible array of food available. Theme nights provided variety on food from around the world. Sabina also hosted our private meal on the beach which provided a beautiful individual experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. She would provide insight into the life of working on the island and also goes above and beyond to ensure your holiday experience is the best it can be. |Ali also waited on us during our stay when Sabina was not available and again his friendly nature and eye for an empty glass meant we never went thirsty. ||Dolphin Trip- Fantastic for details seek out the intrepid salesperson Himyaan in the Cocktail Bar, who can provide full details for this superb chance to see large numbers of dolphins enjoying their freedom in the wonders of the Indian Ocean. |Shark Trip-Unbelievable, to see so many different types and sizes of shark in their natural habitat was fascinating. They are so majestic in movement but frightening when tearing at food really brings home the beauty of these creatures. Also sitting in the cocktail bar in the evenings you see many black tip sharks gently meandering through the waves at the edge of the outdoor area, but concentrate because on two occasions late evening we saw a six foot and an eight foot shark within six feet of where we were enjoying our drink. Fantastic!! Also at this location both day and evening there is an abundance of marine life to see.||Also look out for the large ray that glides past on occasion near the cocktail bar. ||Evening entertainment in the Cocktail Bar is fantastic- Relaxing to the live music and occasionally venturing to dance late in to the evening. The bar staff consisting of Gihan, Zaalif, Himyaan, Bakku & Raany are all friendly and very helpful. ||The Nikita bar is a superb location to chill for a late afternoon drink after a days snorkelling as well as into the evening. Relax in the sun with the waves hitting the shoreline and watch the crabs scurry across the nearby boardwalk. |Eranga was always welcoming with a smile and made the perfect cocktails. |Spa opportunities are a great way to unwind with a large variety of options available. The staff here are very pleasant and can provide further guidance on treatments.||Water sport team can provide expert advice and products to allow you to explore the coast, reef and drop off points… watch out for the sharks!!||We had a week in an Ocean View room but took up the promotion to move to an overwater villa for our last 4 nights. We spent 8 days at the resort with our 2 kids, aged 8 and 10. Overall, we found it to be great value for the money we spent. The island: The island is small, but not in a way that anyone might feel intimidated by its size. The sand resembles soft powder, and lush greenery covers the entire island. You don't need shoes on this island, as the powdery sand extends even to the areas around the bars and reception. Walking barefoot became second nature, with only a pair of slippers needed for the main restaurant.

Sunbeds: Before we arrived, we read many reviews where people complained that there weren't enough sun beds. We were pretty concerned about that, and we were in a hurry to wake up early the next morning so we could book at least 2 sunbeds for the kids. Well, they fixed this issue. The day after we arrived, we found out that they had doubled the number of sunbeds, and there were plenty of them for all the guests.

Villas: Although the water villas looked stunning, they only accommodate up to 3 people. As a family of four, we opted for a beach bungalow. In our beach bungalow, the space was admittedly tight for our family of 4. There was just enough room to walk to the wardrobe and bathroom, but we didn't mind as we mainly used the room for sleeping and showering. The rest of the time you are outside, on the beach, or somewhere else around the island. All villas are truly cleaned twice per day. The bathroom is large enough, with 2 showers, and this was quite convenient for us.

Food: The food was delicious. Even our kids enjoyed it and they are pretty picky when it comes to food. There was fresh, grilled fish every day, vegetarian and vegan options as well. We were pleasantly surprised by the tasty desserts, which exceeded the quality of those at other all-inclusive resorts we've visited. The only thing that could be improved is to include more exotic fruits and seafood options alongside the fish.

At this point, you might ask yourself, Why travel to Madives? Especially if you are coming from Europe... And why go to Rannalhi Island? There are so many great resorts in Greece and Italy where you can get the same value...

And the answer is...

The coral reef around the island! It is spectacular! The whole island is surrounded by a coral reef. And the wildlife here is so different from what we saw in Panama, Egypt, and Thailand. And you don't need to be a good swimmer to explore this reef! You just take a snorkeling mask, look under the water, and you see this amazing, exotic aquarium! If you can't swim, you can find a life vest in your room that is free of charge. You just need a mask and to swim a few meters from the shore. There are different types of corals, colorful fish, and this place is full of sea turtles! During our stay, we swam with sea turtles on a daily basis, and every time we went snorkeling, there was something new and exciting to see. Few Maldivian islands offer such an accessible and beautiful coral reef right off the beach. The island's remote location affords a breathtaking view of the night sky. After dinner, before the moon appears in the sky, we would grab a towel and find a dark spot on the beach to stargaze. The absence of light pollution allowed us to marvel at the Milky Way and even spot the Orion Nebula with the naked eye. If you have binoculars, don't forget to bring them! The night sky on this particular island is truly spectacular because it is away from light pollution. If you don't live in a national park, away from towns or cities, you will see the night sky in a way that you have never...
