My wife and I booked our honeymoon at Baros and I would throughly recommend this beautiful island to anyone.

The island is absolutely stunning, just about the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, with sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Just outside our large room we had our own private beach area that led onto the main beach.

Right outside our room (a hundred feet or so into the sea) we had a beautiful coral to snorkel across filled with an array of incredible sea creatures. There was an abundance of non threatening but stunning sharks such as Black Tip Reef Sharks and Nurse sharks. You wouldn’t know they are there unless you snorkel but it never ceased to be a thrill to see them.

We also saw large 70kg turtles, squid, stingrays and on the very last day a large friendly octopus who was shy at first but then followed us for a while and was amazing to see and interact with.

It’s hard to sum up what an amazing break we had here without writing an absolute essay but we had so many really epic experiences that I will remember for the rest of my life.

The food was absolutely first class. As a foodie I’ve been lucky enough to eat at some very good places in my life but the Baros food was as good as any I’ve had. The Lime restaurant is supposed to be the more standard one of the 3 restaurants but we were blown away by it. Everything is grown fresh on the island in terms of veg and seasonings, you can actually visit the garden where they grow it all. We were very, very impressed by how amazing the food was.

The customer service was absolutely phenomenal and we were really looked after throughout our stay. The staff are really genuine and during the Eid celebrations they all seemed so genuinely passionate. They both organised and took part in some great games for us such as dodge ball and the colour festival.

Everyone on the island made us feel so welcome and well attended to. We would both like to extend our thanks to all the staff who, work so hard to ensure the guests have such a good stay.

We would also like to extend a special thanks to some employees in particular who really went above and beyond during our time at Baros. Firstly our assigned helper Sujata who was so very kind, organised and attentive.

Rishi at the Sails bar who always gave us first class customer service and made great cocktails!

Totto at Sails bar who also showed excellent customer service and took the time to chat with us about Maldivian culture and writing.

Mesi at the Lime restaurant who always greeted us so warmly and chatted to us about our days.

Ali (Rottey) the Manchester United supporting waiter at Lime who always delivered top customer service and chatted to us about the island.

Hamed, our villa attendant, who did an amazing job cleaning our room every day and left us a gift of two wooden turtles.

Last but not least the lovely lady with glasses at the Lighthouse who always remembered our names and treated us so wonderfully. I’m so sorry that we didn’t get your name.

If you want to spend the best vacation ever and have experience of top level service extraordinary, totally breath taking nature, discover underwater life and meet face to face friendly sharks and turtles - Baros is the best place you can find!

Starting from meeting you at the airport you feel that you are treated as the dearest guest. The hotel is situated just in 25 mins by boat from the airport which is so convenient after a long flight.

You are welcomed by amazing team and I would like to express my biggest gratitude to Shariu and Maashiq who made our stay the most memorable and special trip so far!

The hotel is 18+, although we saw some kids, but they were around the age that doesn’t influence your relaxing atmosphere :)

We stayed half of our stay at beach villa and half at the water villa with pool. I would recommend to experience both as it’s totally different atmosphere but both options are great and have their own benefits.

From entertainment I would recommend to go snorkeling from day 1! Hotel provides free of charge snorkeling equipment for the whole stay. As well canoe with transparent bottom is very Instagram photogenic idea!

The island has very romantic vibe, you basically feel like you are alone on the island. One evening we had romantic dinner on the beach, just two of us, surrounded by lights and stars. Food was so delicious, one of the best steaks I ever had!

One day hotel surprised us with romantic decoration of bed and flowers in the bath tub. That’s was soooo sweet, we really enjoyed that vibe!

Another experience that carved in our memory was the trip to the small island that was totally isolated from people and was only for us. Every day it disappears under water and next day comes back again.

The service level at the hotel is exceptional! Everyone is smiling to you and says Hi. Just one example. The whole stay, our dream was to see the turtle. We were told that there are dozen of turtles living around the island. So we went snorkeling but had zero luck until the last day, we finally found our turtle and were chasing it for an hour:) so I told Maashiq, our hotel host, that we finally found it and were super excited. Just few hours later, we came to the room and found two wooden turtles on our beds! It was sooo caring and sweet!

Baros Maldives has definitely won all my heart and truly deserves to be called the best vacation in my life so far. It’s just combination of that paradise nature, animals and fish you never saw in other countries, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets, of course that turquoise, heavenly color of water, cheerful and so kind hotel team that in combination together tattooed in our hearts...

The pictures and videos of Maldives that we viewed before our trip did little to prepare us for reality. Maldives is even more stunning in real life. The clarity of the water, the pristine white sand, the many shades of blue in the warm ocean that are ever changing with the time of the day, the colors and variety of marine life and coral. We got to experience all of it in our 5 night trip. And it was magical to say the least. The kind of magic that stays deep within your souls for the rest of your life.

Our resort, Baros Maldives, took it to a different level. Our over water villa was out of this world. Well appointed, private, super comfy bed, great bathroom with incredible views and a fabulous deck that gave us the best sunset. Villa 310 was just amazing.

The three restaurants at Baros were superb as well. We opted for breakfast inclusive deal, which is at the Lime restaurant. The buffet spread is a treat, with excellent coffee and Prosecco, fresh sushi, , curries, fruit, pastries, yogurts, juices, eggs, waffles. The breakfast includes both buffet and a la carte.

Dinner at all the restaurants - Cayenne, Lighthouse and Lime were fantastic. The food was just delightful, and the service was always top notch. The attentiveness, responsiveness and generosity was above par. And that includes the entire staff at Baros. We were there to celebrate our 2nd anniversary and Baros staff went above and beyond to celebrate it with us and make us feel special with an anniversary cake, champagne, and room decoration and so much more!.

Our guided snorkeling trip was other-worldly, unmatched to any other snorkeling we have done before. We highly recommend that every guest take advantage of this experience. The house reef is phenomenal and you can spend hours just hanging out in this calm reef lagoon and enjoying great sights.

Special thanks to our butler, Thulay, who took care of our every need. Also huge thanks to Karan, assistant F&B manager, who treated us to a special dinner at Cayenne on our last night. Under the full moon and right at the edge of the water, we had a most memorable meal of lobster and steak, paired with champagne. And the service made it just phenomenal.

With its golden anniversary coming up later this year, Baros is highly recommended by us. If we find ourselves thinking of Maldives, we would be back here in a heartbeat. A vacation to Baros will fill your heart with gladness and a lifetime...
