We spent four nights in September 2025 at COMO Cocoa island. This was our second trip to COMO Cocoa and it won’t be our last if I have anything to say about it! It’s hard to quantify exactly what makes COMO Cocoa such a magical spot—there’s just a certain something about it that I love.||What we loved most and what was just as good as our first trip:| - The sandbank and walking around the island. COMO Cocoa has the most gorgeous sandbank I’ve ever visited in the Maldives. It’s accessible at all times of day, although it obviously grows or shrinks depending on the tides. Our waiter suggested we walk up it under the full moon one night and it was truly magical.| - The bungalows. We had a Loft Water Villa this time and the resort graciously gave us the exact villa we requested (801). It was truly spectacular to be over the sand when the tide came washing in. There were quite a few sharks swimming past and one afternoon we actually had a small manta. The outdoor shower was also lovely.| - The reef is still excellent. It was quite windy when we were there so I could not snorkel the coral garden off the pool, but I went along the drop-off in front of the villas and up the sandbar multiple times. Excellent! There were almost always turtles along the sandbar and currents were minimal. Unfortunately, the trigger fish were nesting halfway down the drop-off, but fortunately the dive shop had added a buoy to mark the point at which one should turn around.| - The team is one of the friendliest, nicest group of people ever. Our housekeeper Ismail was such a pleasure and did an amazing job keeping us tidy. Wissam is still there and as efficient and charming as ever. We even ran into Fanny again!| - The special set menus. We absolutely loved the Thai night—it was so much fun. Although there’s technically just one restaurant, we could have room service as part of our full board plan (for a $25 tray charge) and they offered both a “main” menu and their Shambhala menu. The inclusion of soft drinks and juices in the minibar at no-charge is also quite appreciated. | - The transfer is extraordinarily easy. We arrived on the 5:40am Etihad flight and they were waiting to whisk away. Although we were delayed by a half hour as another passenger accidentally took our suitcase instead of theirs, they got us on the boat right away (we were the only passengers) and then straight into our villa. We were at the resort as fast as possible and we absolutely appreciated being able to go straight to the villa.|- The lagoon in front of 801 was crystal clear, sandy-bottomed, and entirely free of coral rubble and sea grass. It was perfect for bobbing around in.||I know that there are some complaints about boat traffic (it didn’t bother us, although we grimaced when a snorkel boat unloaded its passengers literally right on top of the trigger fish buoy), views of the local islands (still think the local prison is weirdly pretty), and the lack of restaurants (worked for us just fine and not having to make dinner reservations was lovely). COMO Cocoa is deeply serene, laidback, wonderful for beach walks, and has both lagoon and coral for snorkeling. For us, it’s really a place that “has it all” and is a completely relaxing experience. We look forward...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels but Cocoa Island has been by far THE BEST 5 STAR! The customer service here is immaculate. We hired an amazing photographer from Male. He's name is Asad and he's very well known for his amazing talents on Facebook; Asad's Photography. We informed the front desk and they arranged to contact him directly and to make plans for him to arrive at certain time by speed boat. It was perfect! The one and only restaurant along with room service is only open from 7am to 11pm (order your alcohol ahead of time so you don't run out during off hours, you have a fridge to place the drinks in). Due to the jet lag when we first arrived my husband and I woke up early. We called the front desk to asked the hours of their services. Shortly after the restaurant called us at 5:30am to let us know they will open at 6:30am for us. It was amazing. Also, the restaurant employees will remember what you like. My new addiction was the Maldivian pepper in which they call it the Maldivian Chili. They warned me it was very spicy. It was absolutely delicious. The naan bread, Maldivian chili and the Persian feta has been my new ultimate favorite trio. This place only has 33 suites. It is very small. So small to the point, when you go to the beach during the day, you barely see anyone. During many days of our stay here, my husband and I had the beach to ourselves. It was amazing. We also reserved a private dinner on the sand bank. The waiter was with us at all times besides the times he had to leave to get more food. It was so romantic. We stayed here for Christmas Eve & Day and both days they had a live band playing wonderful music even Santa Claus with gifts for kids. As far as housekeeping, you have someone cleaning your suite twice a day and have a person coming once a day to deliver fresh exotic fruits and stock up on their daily cookies (so yummy). The spa is amazing too. Their customer service is on point. I wanted to book a hydrating facial ahead of time for the day of my leave and they were fully booked. I wanted a certain time frame. The next day they called me to let me know they were able to book me on the last day at the time I wanted. I screamed for joy. Thank you so much for such a pleasant and wonderful time. We spoken to many of you and learned that you only get to visit your family once a month or every couple of months in which a lot of you have new born babies. Our hearts go out to you for your true dedication as an employee for Cocoa Island. Every single one of you are amazing! Thank you for showing us such true dedication and integrity in all that you do. You truly all deserve the best! We love...
Read moreMy partner and I had the most wonderful stay at COMO Cocoa Island! From the moment we landed in Malé, everything was seamless. Nasha, the airport representative, took great care of us while we waited for our transfer. The boat ride to the island was faster than expected — in just 30 minutes, we were already in paradise!||Even though we arrived late at night, the welcome was smooth and warm. Azwan gave us the perfect orientation and explained everything clearly. Throughout our stay, everyone was extremely caring yet never intrusive. A special mention goes to Ibrahim (Assistant Front Office Manager), who was truly a gem and made us feel so welcome.||Even though there’s only one restaurant on the island, we never got bored — the menu changes daily and differs for each mealtime, so every meal felt new and exciting. The food was always fresh and beautifully presented.||The resort itself is perfect if you’re looking to rest and unwind. The sea is breathtaking, the rooms are spacious and private, and with only 30 villas, you never feel the crowd. There are also plenty of activities for all interests! We chose a candlelight dinner, which was beautifully romantic without being over the top, and the staff organized everything perfectly. We also went on the sunset cruise, which I absolutely recommend — we even saw dolphins! The crew was fantastic and spoiled us with drinks and bites throughout the trip.||The spa deserves a special mention — COMO never disappoints! The treatments were amazing, and I highly recommend the classic COMO Shambhala massage.||We were also pleasantly surprised by the small boutique on the island — it had such cute items and dresses, all at very reasonable prices!||On our last day, we had the pleasure of meeting Wisam, the Assistant Manager of Rooms, who was also incredibly kind and welcoming.||Honestly, we left the island already dreaming of coming back. It was a perfect stay for both of us — peaceful, romantic, and unforgettable. Thank you to the entire COMO Cocoa Island team for making our trip...
