What can I say that hasn't already been said, what a place! It's going to be extremely hard to explain it all here, and how amazing our experience was.|It was our first time staying here on the island, and I can honestly say it will not be our last. |Yes a holiday is expensive to the Maldives. You already know that, but this was worth every single penny it cost us.|Every single thing was absolutely outstanding, from start to finish. |The staff are all so kind, helpful, polite, and any other complimentary comment you can think of.|All the staff are amazing, can't name them all here, but a couple especially are, Andreas the GM, such a knowledgeable gentleman, who came to speak to us several times, and at one point we were the only British people on the Island, incidentally this was never an issue as most speak very good English. He had worked in London for 15 years, so we had some lovely chats with him. He is always very nicely concerned that everyone is having the best time. (If you're not, then I can safely say it you, not them lol). And when we left in the early hours of the morning to go home, and he was there to see us off! He also sent us a very personalised message after we'd got home, from outside where we had stayed, a massive surprise, and a super lovely and special thing to do.|Another staff member to mention is Mallick, he gets mention a lot on here for a reason. He is extremely good at his job in the pool bar, he remembers everyone, and their drinks. He is also a lovely, lovely guy. |The rest of the staff on the island are all amazing too.|Accommodation wise, we opted to stay in a Beach Bungalow, and it was perfect, a very good size, and very private too, especially access to your little bit of the beach, with 2 lovely lounge beds, comfy thick cushion, and a tiki umbrella. The bungalow was extremely well looked after and cleaned every day, the 4 poster bed was so comfortable too. We didn't have it cleaned every day I'll be honest, and this was by choice, but we had fresh water and towels every day. The bathroom is huge, and the shower and bath that have no roof on, so you look at the stars, is just so special. You also have a decked patio area straight out from your patio doors. This also has 2 comfy seats and a table on. When we return again, it will be to a Beach Bungalow again for sure.|The restaurant is half in and half out, again spotlessly clean, the staff are very helpful and the food was absolutely stunning. All fresh and all cooked to a high standard. And it caters to everyone's tastes for sure. Even down to the ice cream they make on the island fresh every day from scratch. And a pastry chef every day in the evening service, has her own little station cooking one item fresh infront of you. So, for example, fresh mini dough nuts, pancakes, etc. Other deserts are available, but her little station is definitely a must visit. The pool and pool area is spotlessly clean also, and the pool is like getting in the bath. So warm. But remember to pack some flip flops for the pool area. The island is a no shoe island should you wish, but the decking around the pool gets hot, as you can imagine. Also, keep an eye out above you in the trees for the fruit bats. They are huge and scream. It's just amazing to see every day.|The access to the sea is everywhere, and is crystal clear. The coral reefs are out of this world, you get a talk in the bar about how to behave and react in the water, and you will see why when you go in the water. Such an alive reef, and so many different fish to see, all the colours you can ever imagine. We saw black tip sharks, dolphins, huge GT fish, clown fish, parrot fish, and so much more. Every day we went snorkelling outside the Bungalow. We also went off the pontoon, but be careful here, unless you are a confident, strong swimmer, don't go in, just watch from the Quay and the shore.|We also did a boat trip whilst we were there. Mickey and Naushad were amazing, and what an experience, we went to 2 areas and went in looking for turtles, which we did see. It was just something I will never ever forget. And they look after you so well also. You also get food and drink on board. We saw so much on the trip it is highly recommended.|We also did the photo shoot. Both of us never do things like this normally, but this we had too. Again an unforgettable experience and the chap and his wife that run the photography studio, are such lovely people. And she does paintings you can also purchase. We chose one each to take home as a memory.|The sunset bar is magical, and I can't describe how special it felt every night to go there, and to watch the sunset, having a drink, and just literally sitting there watching it go down, it really is just so, so special. Also they have a couple of late nights there with singers/bands etc. Seating is varied there, seats, bar stools, bean bags, big lounge sofas etc. We saw a Maldivian group Black Pearl play there a couple of times, 3 men and they were fantastic. I love music anyway, so throughly enjoyed listening to them. |They also had a lady singer there also and she was brilliant too. And she sang a few nights, and sang all sorts of music, also in the same vein a gentleman also. Again they were both great.|Entertainment otherwise is at the main bar, and it doesn't disappoint at all. Music, bands, singers every night after something like a quiz, or a little staff show. Also there's a dance floor and music to suit everyone. Drinks flow all night, all the staff are quick to replenish your drinks all night. The drinks are lovely and a big menu of choices. Everything you could possibly think of.|We went at the end of March, beginning of April, and the weather was glorious. We were there for Easter, and the pudding and sweet displays were all made in-house, and they had made a huge effort for Easter. Also on Easter Monday Andreas and another member of staff come round the island to everyone, with glasses of champagne poured in front of you. It's just all these extra special touches that made the holiday even more fantastic.|To give you an idea, I was thinking would we entertained enough as it was such a small island, etc. I had absolutely no need to worry at all. To give you an idea, whenever we go on holiday depending on how long for, I will easily read 5 or 6 books while we are away for a week, just chill by the pool and watching the world go by. On this holiday I read 5 pages of 1 book!!!! We just sat there just looking out to sea, swimming, snorkelling etc. It was just amazing. We will definitely be going back.|I had no complaints at all, just something personal to me I would have liked, it wasn't a deal breaker, but I would have liked to have been able to buy snacks, such as for example some chocolate for the room and some crisps, nuts etc, just something like that would have been lovely. And again, not a deal breaker at all, and a very personal thing, just some better internet. It kept cutting out, and I did struggle the couple of times I needed to log in for work. But I wasn't there to work. It was just something that came up while we were there. So again, no biggie. |The journey is a tough one from the UK, and we were struggling by the 3rd flight to our island, but I'll be totally honest as soon as we got on the speed boat to our island, I totally forgot all about it, and we totally relaxed big time. The welcome you get when you get there is very special indeed. Handmade lei and a really cold bottle of beer! It was extremely welcome by then I can tell you. You then get taken to a seat, checked in and shown a map to take, and shown all the areas on the island, and where everything is situated. Then you're take to your accommodation on a little golf buggy, your luggage arrives soon after.|With regard to tipping, you are never ever made to feel obliged too. But obviously if you feel a certain member of staff has gone above and beyond it is totally up to you. But as I said, you are never made to feel you have to.|Any photographs you see online or in a holiday magazine, is 100% exactly as it looks in real life. The pictures I've shared haven't been doctored in anyway at all. Just as it is. Beautiful.|All in all, it was a very unforgettable holiday, and I actually shed a couple of tears leaving, I didn't want to leave. We will definitely 100% be going back, and we can't wait to see all the work that has happened since the day after we left. Anyone in any doubt at all about going here, don't have any doubts whatsoever, it's special in every way possible. 5* all the way, and for every single part of the island too. Thank you, Robinson Maldives Funamadua - 🇲🇻 Outstanding. Till...
Read moreWell what can I say about the destination of Robinsons, the food and the team…. Amazing!|We are from the UK and were wanting to arrange meeting friends who had emigrated to Australia eight years previously and who we hadn’t really seen since. The Maldives was the dream destination but we weren’t sure where to go. We have been fortunate to have stayed at other exotic destinations with Sandals and RIU and had never heard of Robinsons. Our last holiday at RIU had left us a little disappointed so we were really unsure as to where to go. |Our go to place and decider was trip advisor and the reviews for Robinsons.|Destination:|The island is small and can be walked around in 15 minutes. To get there after your main flight is another small plane flight and a 25-minute boat ride. The luggage weight restrictions are 20kg for hold luggage and 5Kg for hand luggage which was at odds with the main airline allowances. The boat ride can be smooth or choppy. We had both. Choppy was fun!|The facilities on the island are great. There is one main bar, one restaurant and a sunset bar. There is also a pool bar. There is a well-stocked gym, large sauna, tennis courts and table tennis. There are various classes including yoga and fitness and there are water activities, although anything more than snorkelling incurred additional charges. There is also a Spa with various treatments for an additional cost.|There are so many paths to walk it is easily confusing but lovely in that you can walk around without actually seeing anyone. The whole island offers peace and tranquillity without feeling claustrophobic with the amount of other people there.|There was some beach space to sunbathe, if you didn’t have a beach villa and plenty of space around the pool. There are no wrist bands and no issues with getting or returning towels, etc.|The rooms:|We had booked a basic garden room. Wow. It was the nicest and roomiest we have stayed in. They are semi detached so there was no noise. There was quite a private area at the back with loungers to sit and chill which was lovely. The bathroom was partly outdoors but remaining private. This was initially strange but I loved the concept, especially with the outdoor shower.|We were fortunate to stay in one of the over water bungalows for the last couple of nights, which was an amazing experience and one we would never looked to have booked. The views were stunning and private but in all honesty we loved both.|The food:|We stayed for two weeks, which is the longest we have ever done. Food as a massive consideration and the one restaurant was an initial concern. Don’t let it be. The vast majority of trip advisor reviews will say how fantastic the food is. It is! |Other destinations we have stayed boast about how many speciality restaurants they have. We have found on some of these that the food was anything but a speciality. Robinsons may only have the one restaurant but they have speciality stations delivering some amazing food. We were concerned we would get bored of the food, especially with a two week stay. None of us did at all. The choices were changed every day and every meal and we always looked forward to see what was on the menus next. |Activities:|It rained a lot whilst we were there but there were various activities you could choose to do if you wanted.|The evening entertained was really good from resort produced shows to acts that were brought in. The team work really hard to ensure you are enjoying your stay.|The team:|I had read a lot about this and about Andreas. It doesn’t do it the justice. I could mention numerous members of staff, who go above and beyond but that would be a disservice to those we didn’t get to talk to as much but are as passionate. |There is a Robinsons ethos that flows through the staff. Andreas is so passionate. He greets you when you arrive. He can serve you breakfast. He can be part of the entertainment team. He will say goodbye to you when you leave, which in our case was 3.30am. |There are not individual teams, but all are one team. So at times the water sports or maintenance will also serve breakfast, the bar staff will be part of the entertainment team. Receptionists, cleaners and management will do the same. It breaks down so many barriers and is not viewed as a punishment by the staff but a reward. Staff eat in the same restaurant and on their days off will be in the bar and still might join in. It’s not a job for them it’s a way of life.|Andreas when he went for the position of General Manager was turned down as Robinsons only promote to that role from within as they know their company ethos will be maintained. Andreas took a demotion for three years to prove himself before gaining the position. On speaking to the staff they all love working there and it is very hard to get a job as there is fierce competition. What does all that mean. It means you will always be met with a smile. A genuine smile. You won’t have to queue at the bar as the staff will see you and be more than happy to get you another drink. Nothing is a problem.|There were a couple of small things that Robinsons should maybe look at and this is nothing more than a grumble:|We were under the impression that premium brand drinks were included but this was not the case. I would understand for champagne but seemed a bit pinicky for spirits. |There was only the one choice of draught beer and bottles/cans were chargeable.|The room minibars were chargeable for the same items that were in the bar!|It sounds that we are heavy drinkers, which we aren’t. I just think when you have paid a lot of money to get to such a dream destination and everything else was pretty perfect then a couple of small things would make it absolutely perfect, not that that took the shine off the holiday in anyway whatsoever.|If you have any doubts don’t. Trust the reviews. So many can’t be wrong. I booked for four of us with quite the price tag, so the expectations were high. Thankyou team Robinsons. You...
Read moreThis is our 3rd visit to ROBINSON Maldives, once in 2019, then again in 2024 and lastly our most recent trip after its beauty sleep in 2025. People ask us what makes you go back to the same resort - well the answer is easy - The Robins (staff), the food, the entertainment and of course the adult only surroundings. Nothing compares in the Maldives to this, and we have stayed at 3 other Islands.||The team are led by an impressive leader - Andreas, whom we met first in 2024 and this man oozes passion, dedication and exceptional leadership. He is everywhere, greeting you to the Island when you arrive, in the restaurant, the bar, and even waving you off when you depart.||The Robins are keys to the service philosophy of ROBINSON and they are all exceptional. While the beauty sleep meant some moved on to pastures new, there were still some regular faces and of course new ones so here goes, Vivi - Andreas' right-hand lady - the yang to his ying, the bun to his burger - a super impressive double act - she will go a long way in life, she is hugely talented. Moving over to the restaurant and the super talented chefs, Geddi and Prasath, met them both in 2019 and great to see them back – both great guys and made awesome food. Can’t forget the mazing egg chef, Vithush who made the perfect omelets every morning. The entire Chef team were brilliant, Krishan, Sidath, all led by Gune. Moving to the restaurant team and we mostly got looked after by the amazing Shamil and Jameel and some familiar favorites Shamu and Santose and the amazing Benson, it was so nice to meet his brother, Philipo who is working in this team now too. Another lovely new edition is Raith from Bali. Overall, a great restaurant team. ||Now onto the bar’s lets start off with Kiran at the pool bar – the one man show – making excellent cocktails and any other drink you need to refresh you in the pool. In the main bar, it was so ni9ce to see Mallick, Mahesh, Livan, Sajid all back and a great new edition Yolmu. These boys never stop making sure you are refreshed with amazing drinks. The quality and included offering of the drinks has even increased this year making it even better All Inclusive. ||Moving over the entertainment team and UKTU, Yohush and are favorite from over the years Thambi all make sure you don’t get bored. Make sure you head to Thambi’s cross golf every other day – it would be great to have this every day as it’s a great activity for after breakfast. Make sure you go to the show and check out UKTU dance moves! We can’t forget the only English Robin – Connor who is social media but also gave an excellent performance in the Moulin Rouge show! What I love about ROBINSON compared to the other islands we have been too is the evening entertainment, whether its soft night such as the quiz, a white party, a pool party, a food festival or a gala night. There is always so much effort put in from the entire team to make these amazing and its not just the entertainment team – everyone can take part in the shows – the back office, restaurant team and so it really is a different concept and makes it personable. A special shout out to Fahim the front office manager who was in a lot of the shows and around in the evening to socialize, he really is a truly lovely person. The only night we were not too keen on was the diving presentation but other than that the other 9 nights were all amazing.||This year we had a new water villa, and they have pulled out all the stops, these rooms were stunning and had everything you needed. We heard other guests say there were too modern looking, and they preferred the traditional looking water villas, but in my opinion, they are great, and I have stayed in both, and you need a modern room to move with the times and also to attract younger guest potentially – its great to have 2 types of water villa options. I would 100% stay in one of these rooms again!||Our top tip is to download the app and make sure you check out the dress codes on select nights. We have been before so knew what to expect and you can normally pack to match the dress codes. E.g white night, Colorful, red and black, Pink & white. Glamour. Floral. ||There is a great mix of nationalities and Andreas and Vivi do a great job of ensuring everything is in 2 languages (German & English) something we have not seen done consistently in other ROBINSON Clubs we have visited.| |There is a reason we keep coming back to ROBINSON Maldives and while the connecting flight and speed boat make the trip a little longer to get there. It really is a special place and 100% we will be back for our 4th trip in the future for sure – we cannot fault this place!||Thank you Andreas and the entire Maldives Team for...
