TLTR - Overall I think 7 nights is too long to stay at the resort. The price we ended up paying was not on par with our experience. In hindsight I would have preferred to go to a resort which perhaps wasn't all inclusive but was of a higher standard, had better weather, amenities and most important the food was nicer. The only reason why Dhigali is considered 5 star is because of the location, had Dhigali been anywhere else it would be a 3-4 star hotel. Fully Review: After reading all the positive reviews online we decided to visit Dhigali Maldives and purchased the premium all inclusive package for 7 nights during December for our honeymoon. We chose to travel during December because it was supposedly one of the best months to travel where you would have the best weather. When we arrived in Male a representative from the resort met us and guided us to the sea plane front desk and checked in our luggage, she then guided us to a coach which took us to a lounge whilst we wait. We thought it was a really nice experience and enjoyed sitting in the lounge while we waited for our transfer. Overall we waited 3 hours until we were called to board the seaplane. When we stepped out of the lounge we saw all the other resorts lounge and they looked luxury. The lounge we were in looked a bit basic and dated. Dhigali is quite far from Male; it took us approximately 45minutes - 1 hour to get to by sea plane. We paid $350 USD per person for the sea plane transfer and had to arrange that with the resort front desk beforehand. Once we arrived to Dhigali we got a really nice reception. The staff were standing on the deck waving while we were pulling up. It made us feel quite special. The staff were all friendly and didn't really come across anyone who wasn't helpful. The resort has a really convenient buggy system which helps you go around the island if you don't want to walk. They also have a mobile app which helps you track where the buggies are at any point. From the 7 nights we were there I think the weather was exceptional for 1 full day where we could go Kayaking in the sea, the weather was amazing. Other than that day we weren't able to go kayaking or do any water sports as the lifeguard told us the waters are too choppy. It rained for 3 of the days and the other days it was cloudy. This was quite a surprise for us as we were expecting/hoping to get more sunshine. The food was average in my opinion, it was nothing special and after a few days it became really repetitive. I was a bit disappointed to find out that even though we were on an all inclusive package there was When we were at the resort we had a big loud group come to the resort.

Welcome experience Greeted at airport, baggage quickly checked in for the seaplane. I'd certainly recommend the seaplane transfers as the island is quite some distance from male, however you need to consider 20kg limit for hold luggage and the plane itself is very muggy, cramped and warm. Sea plane operator was manta air, a very basic lounge, but air con and sea plane views were welcomed. On arrival, an efficient and friendly check in experience! Room First part in a beach bungalow, the room was spacious with direct access to the beach. Bed was very big and comfortable but quite a firm mattress. Being PAI, the minibar is included, Carlsberg beer (not a favourite of mine, would rather something like Heineken or Tiger), red and white wine full bottles, soft drinks, coke/sprite (we could ask for diet coke). JW red, smirnoff, Gordon's and tonic, plus juices. All replenished daily! Water pressure wasn't great, but that wasn't an issue, UK electrical points, USB sockets. Included robes and beach towel, and beach bag. The one main issue we had was mosquitoes! Even with the daily spraying on the island. Second part of the trip was in a water villa, certainly worth considering, a beautiful view of the house reef with easy access, also huge bath tub! Restaurants Food was of a good quality, though choices on the menu compared with Kuramathi were very lacking, some work to be done here to keep up with Kuramathi! Getting a reservation was near impossible too, make sure you book in advance of your trip. The island needs another 1 or 2 restaurants, and could consider early and late booking times to turn tables, eg 630 and 830, to ease capacity issues. Wine menu inclusions were expansive, a big plus there. Snorkelling Fantastic marine life and corals, be warned the currents can be strong so plan start and finish points. There are jellyfish so make sure you wear rash vests. Eagle rays, sharks and turtles spotted. Access to Reef can be tricky when the tide is out. One concern also was a pipe pumping out murky water by the water villas near East bar, it made the water a bit cloudy at times. Scuba Eurodivers on site were fantastic, thoroughly enjoyed my diving! Spa Expensive, would be nice to have one treatment included with PAI, it was very good though, exceptional facilities and highly trained masseuse. Overall A fantastic island with many premium inclusions, definitely recommend for keen snorkellers. Food was good but if that is most important, opt for Kuramathi. The Bioluminescent algae was a real treat, absolutely beautiful. Would certainly return!

It was totally worth travelling 17-20 hours to visit this beautiful island. As soon as we arrived in Male, some colleagues of the island assisted us to a lounge where we were entitled to free meals and drinks before our domestic flight took off. As soon as we arrived from Malé, we were welcomed with a fragranced refreshening towels and welcome drinks. We stayed at beach bungalow with pool and water villa as well. Spacious room, outdoor shower in beach bungalow which was quite cool to have a shower under the sky. Do not be scared of the mini geckos, they do not hurt. One of the fridge was complimentary and it was filled up every day. There is another fridge with high-quality wines which are chargable. The rooms are cleaned daily and new towels (including beach towels) provided. The bed is comfortable. We were gifted surprise bed decorations and cake for our honemyoon which we appreciate. There is air-condition and ironing board in beach bungalow. Spa massage was so relaxing and felt amazing after the long journey. We got some jasmine tea and chia pudding after our session. The incent sticks smelled amazing in front of the spa. We bought some to take home, as well as their own aloe vera gel and frangipani oil which have magical scent. There are some free tours like the glass-bottomed boat and dolphin tour. On the last one thereare delicious snacks. Snorkelling sets, SUP and kayaks were included in the price. Recommend the morning yoga which gives some energy to the rest of the day. We loved the restaurants there, but the favourite was the Capers, Battuta and Sunset Bar. Friendly, polite service with nice staff, amazing coctails. The reception team were welcoming and helpful as well. They always responded very fast to our tiny requests. All team members work hard and do their best to provide us, the guests a nice and memorable stay. That was one of our best holiday ever.

An unforgettable stay in Dhigali!

We have had the pleasure of staying at Dhigali in June for 5 nights. Our experience in the resort was nothing short of exceptional. This was our second trip to the Maldives and I must say we have enjoyed it more thanks to the extraordinary experience that the resort delivers.

Dhigali provides a true premium all inclusive package from the moment you are greeted by its representative at the airport until the time you check out to your flight home. Everything is taken care of providing a seamless transfer process ensuring the journey to the island was smooth. Dhigali is located north west from the capital island. It takes 40 minutes to get there. Although our luggage was temporarily delayed by the seaplane company due to weight restriction, the resort offered us on arrival a thoughtful and generous goodie bags including the first necessities to ensure we start our vacation in paradise optimally.

The premium all inclusive package exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed a variety of delectable meals culinary inspired by the region. The restaurant outlets are : Battuta (Maldivian, Indian, Arabic), Jade (Modern Asian), Faru (grill) & the forest pizzeria for pizza on take aways! All restaurants offer an impressive selection of a la carte options including a dedicated menu for their vegetarian customers. The alcohol menu is exhaustive: large selections of beers, wines, spirits & cocktails. The fact that our mini bar was replenished daily added an extra touch of luxury and convenience to our stay.

The resort's staff were simply outstanding. It is a real pleasure to see them waving at you when the seaplane docks at the jetty. We felt welcome from the moment we stepped foot on the island. We have been impressed by the delicate attention to all staffs to our needs: barman, beach boys, front desk, restaurant,... A good example is when the chef at Battuta personally came to check if the food was according to our taste. We have met with the resort manager who welcomed us upon arrival and later on at numerous time. He personally ensured that every guest had a remarkable stay. My wife and I agreed that their attention to details and commitment to guest satisfaction were truly commendable. I cannot forget to mention the resort helpful on site doctor. His presence gave up peace of mind, knowing that medical assistance is available 24/7.

The island is truly exotic. Marine life is abundant which is ideal for snorkeling. It was a real pleasure to walk through to the island and feel the tropical energy that the forest delivers.

The magic moment of the day is at sunset by the sunset bar. The sunset bar accompanied by DJ Kesh provide an amazing ambiance and vibes. We found ourselves captivated by the breathtaking sunsets while enjoying the perfect blend of music and cocktails.

We were further impressed by the resort innovative phone application that enhanced our experience. The application features a detailed map of the island, restaurants menus with convenient booking option, and daily program events happening in the resort. Additionally, we could track the real time location of the resort's buggies, making transportation around the island a breeze.

A few last words on the room itself. We had booked a lagoon over water villa with private pool. At time of booking a request was made to get one of the villa facing the west for best sunset views. We were happy to hear upon check in that our request got granted meaning staff take particular attention to the booking requests. The villa was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. The only negative point of this review is that I have noticed that the outdoor deck lacks of maintenance. Wood treatment with a fresh coat of paint and varnished will help to restore its luster.

Our stay in Dhigali was truly memorable. The resort commits to what it advertises. No disappointment at all, only happy memories and satisfaction of a perfect vacation. I highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking an escape in...
