Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa — Hotel in North Maalhosmadulu

After our first visit and the amazing experience at Emerald Faarufushi last year my boyfriend and I have decided to come back – and it was definitely the best decision!||A friendly representive of the resort welcomed us at Velana Airport and the check-in and transfer to the Seaplane terminal and TMA Coral Lounge was as smooth as it was last year. |The resort tried it's best to arrange the earliest possible seaplane transfer to the island.||From the first step out of the seaplane on the island we immediately felt like coming home thanks to the warm welcome wishes from the staff waiting at the seaplane dock and at the reception.||The whole island is still as beautiful and well maintained as last year, as well as our over-water villa! |Every day we enjoyed several hours snorkeling around the island's fantastic house reef – we couldn't get enough of the beautiful corals and all the sealife. In comparison to last year, the corals seem to have grown and look even more colourful. ||The villa was cleaned everyday twice and the turn down service in the evening surprised us with some special decoration on the bed made with love by the talented and always smiling Mr. Irman. We always enjoyed meeting and having a chat with him!||Food and beverage kept the high level we experienced already last year. All-Inclusive at this quality is pure indulgance. There's a great selection for every kind of taste: ||Restaurant Aqua: no matter if you have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Everything tastes delicious and is freshly made. Further you have a great variety of cold and warm dishes from different countries all over the world. Although everything was already high quality in 2024 we recognised that the pastry section was even more delicious and brilliant in presentation than last year!||Beach Club: With a stylish and relaxed atmosphere and a view onto the wonderful blue lagoon lunch is always an option here – must try: The Pizzas and the homemade Pasta! ||Restaurant Carnivorous: Great dinner place. We love the combination between buffet style (starters) and à la carte (main course and dessert). A high recommendation are the Brisket and the grilled fish/seafood as well as the Cannoli for dessert!||Restaurant Mediterraneo: If you love food in fine-dining style – that's the place to be! It's always hard to decide which dishes to order, because the menu is superb and everything we've tried tastes fantastic. ||If you are a wine lover you will be happy with the guidance of the sommeliers and the numerous wine options offered from all over the world. Big „shout out“ to Mr. Joseph for his amazing recommendation and his knowledge. Even though we are kind of „picky“ and usually don't drink wine he managed to satisfy our taste! ||Eclipse Bar and Sunset Beach Bar: Both are the perfect places to enjoy delicious cocktails and other drinks during the day or at sunset time. Top service! Great variety of premium beverages and spirits etc.|Special „Thank you“ to Aniket who was so attentiv and friendly. He always made sure we stayed hydrated with the best drinks throughout the day. Top notch service!!|Thanks as well to Vishal for your service and for your funny chats whenever we've met you! Your positive charisma and smiling is contagious. ||Shamraz: Thank you for your great kindness. You put so much effort in every detail to make our stay so special and unforgettable. From the beginning of our stay you recognized and remembered our favourite table location and our favourite drinks and you've always kept an eye on everything running smoothly.||Priyanka: Thank you for your attentiveness and your positive spirit when meeting you at Aqua or Mediterraneo. I'll never forget your willingness to help me. When I forgot to bring my shorts which I wanted to wear in the restaurant you didn't hesitate to lend me a traditional maldivian Sarong to make sure I don't have to go back to the watervilla. ||Aliya: With your smile and great kindeness you made sure every guest feels immediately warm welcomed and comfortable when arriving at Aqua. ||Nishaam: We were always happy to meet you at Aqua. You surprised us with your german language skills and you were always open for having a great conversation. In addition to that you have done an excellent job as a waiter. ||Latheef: We enjoyed talking with you. Besides of taking care of us during our times at Aqua you additionally gave us some great advice about weather condition, snorkeling spots and when to take care of strong currents. ||Abbey: Thank you for your fantastic work at Aqua and Mediterraneo and as well for your attentiveness. ||Ori, Rajat and Rabiul from Carnivorous: You always made sure we felt fantastic with your recommendation of food and beverages and with providing us a table with a great view onto the beautiful lagoon.||Hussein: We've met you at Mediterraneo the first time and we were stunned by your great ability to explain the taste of different kind of local fish and the way to prepare it. Thank you for your fantastic food recommendation and for the presentation of every course of our dinner. ||Chef Moreno: fantastico! You and your whole team are keeping the quality of all meals and dishes at the highest level of excellence. No matter the different taste of each guest – you make sure everyone is happy and satisfied. ||Dive Center staff: we experienced a perfect explanation and briefing before going on our „Private Manta snorkeling tour“. The tour was amazing and our guide Tafsir and captain Hussein made sure we had a great time. ||Spa-Staff: top, top, top. We've got a detailed tour through the spa area and some recommendation for treatments. I've chosen the Indian Head Massage and it was the best treatment I've ever had! Very well done! ||Resort Manager Rao: From the first day on until our departure you took care about our well-being in every aspect. We could really feel your passion about your profession and your ambition for excellence. ||Aslaan: Last but least, you've done a perfect job and we couldn't be happier having you as our villa host. Thank you very much for everything you've managed for us and for your effort to make this stay at Faarufushi just perfect. ||Now to sum up, for us Emerald Faarufushi Resort&Spa is THE PERFECT place for vacation! Let me start by saying WOW! This destination was for our honeymoon and it exceeded our expectations by far and we already knew it was going to be excellent. My husband and I are sitting down to write this together because we are passionate about how excellent this place is. Emerald Faarufushi is above a 5-star resort in our opinion. The moment we got to the airport; we were instantly greeted by Emerald Faarufushi employees that made the process extremely hassle-free. He led us from point A to point B - every step of the way was smooth from the time we arrived on the sea plane to the time we left to head to Male airport. The staff went above and beyond - we never had to ask for anything. I am not even exaggerating when I say, they go above and beyond. We knew after day 1 we wanted to sit down and write this amazing review, but as time passed, it became more and more apparent that we were going to rave to all of our friends and family about this place. Both room types we stayed in, beach villa with pool and the overwater bungalow, are truly stunning and one of the cleanest resorts we have ever experienced (coming from two germophobes - ha!). They never cut corners, and everyone was exceptionally and consistently kind - they began to feel like friends by the time we left. I literally cried leaving the resort on the seaplane - dramatic, I am sure, but honestly, I have never been on a vacation where the staff was so consistently attentive and kind. They never appeared to do it for any motive other than making sure we, as guests, had the best experience. They treated us like VIP from the moment we got off the sea plane to the time we left. The entire staff at the resort were amazing, they are truly what make the resort special and give it 5 stars. While we want to name everyone for their excellent service, we have a few we want to recognize that made lasting impacts. • Our butler Kunal was top notch. Kunal was available all hours of the day to help make adjustments to our itinerary and had the mindset of anything is possible on the island to help ensure our trip was beyond memorable – even on his day off. • Aiman made our romantic dinner and all meals at Aqua special. He goes so above and beyond to be caring, even making us and children throughout the resort palm leave weaved animals and flowers. He was so fun – we looked forward to seeing him each day. • The entire staff at Aqua made us want to eat there for each meal. Priyanka, Pradeepa, Roshane, and so many others were so friendly and we enjoyed our conversations getting to know each other throughout our meals. • Roy does an excellent job managing the 4 restaurants at beach club and is very personable and friendly to all guests. • Imas and Nur were great in the spa – we even did a second treatment! Loved our massages and the cold pool & sauna were refreshing to visit throughout the stay. • Raka was very welcoming and ensured we had a smooth airport transfer and access to the nice lounge as we waited for our seaplane. • The 4 sommeliers (Bona, Tate, Kim, and Joseph) on the island all get to know you and made wine suggestions based on our preferences throughout the week. The pairings they created for us were all excellent, all the wines we had we will look to buy at home. • Subhasish was so kind to help us during our meal at Asiatique when he knew we were struggling with the hot pot meal – he kindly took it upon himself to do it for us with a smile. We really enjoyed getting to know him throughout our meal. • Resort management were consistently checking in to ensure our stay was meeting their high standards, which it well exceeded. Arup welcomed feedback on all food & beverage and surprised us by making the special drink we enjoyed off menu. Rao is a phenomenal spokesman of the resort and we’re so impressed with the perfection he has created at the resort that’s less than 1 year old.

Wow! Just Wow!|We had an absolutely fantastic holiday at Emerald Faarufushi, thank you to Patrick, Rao and each and every single one of the team, you are all absolutely brilliant people who give amazing service and are true champions! ||I don't wish to list names of all of the staff we met, as I'm certain I would miss some, but rest assured we are back home with lasting cherished memories of our break.||We travelled with @Angelfish Travel to Faarufushi for our second visit to the Maldives for my birthday, who made booking a breeze with expert knowledge and advice.||We stayed in a beach villa, which was most comfortable, clean, spacious and with a beautiful view of the beach and ocean beyond our decking.||We loved the outdoor shower, the big bath, and second indoor shower, with garden, big mirror and range of toiletries provided. ||We also enjoyed relaxing on the daybed watching the sunrise and sea, just beautiful. We appreciate very much the service to clean and turn down the villa each day, so it was a joy to return to.||We had a very lovely and caring butler, who efficiently assisted us with any queries via what's app (so easy) and we really enjoyed our nightly chats at dinner about our day.|One day we were going snorkelling and I had forgotten my life vest, so I sent a message and within 5 minutes it was brought to me on a buggy! Amazing service, and just one example for which we are most appreciative of, thank you.||During our visit, we dined in all of the restaurants, sampled lots of very tasty and well made dishes and wines, and Chefs Moreno and Samira were extremely kind and went over and above our expectations in accommodating our special requests, thank you so much. We felt very cared for and had a wonderful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. ||We visited the spa, had wonderfully relaxing massages and facials and loved the quiet garden area too.||The pool bar and pool area was a favourite place to relax after snorkelling, we really liked the size and depth of the pool and we often swam in it and the excellent service at the press of a button.||Snorkelling from the jetty to observe the fish and corals on the house reef was a daily highlight of our stay and a deciding factor when selecting a resort, as well as the quality all inclusive package and product offered.||The steps made entering the water easy, and we saw different animals including an array of reef fish, eagle rays and reef sharks. It's full of life, and we felt very privileged to be seeing it each day of our visit.||The watersports complimentary snorkel lesson was fabulous at the beginning of our stay for increasing my confidence in the sea as it was a while since I had snorkelled. Due to this lesson, I was able to snorkel on the manta and turtle trip comfortably, and explore the reef each day at the drop off, so big thanks to you too!||The dive centre team are very knowledgeable and we found the trip with them to be well organised and extremely enjoyable. More thank yous!||Having the fab team of sommeliers in the restaurants to pair wines with our food was a real treat, and I couldn't resist the champagnes too, they all went down very well indeed!||All of the lovely table staff did a fantastic job of ensuring our preferences were remembered, we had so many interesting conversations with many staff all over the resort.||And we cannot forget our special sunset jetty dinner and room decorations for my birthday, sooo beautiful, thanks to all involved.||We are very sad to be back home in Scotland looking out at the rain, however a warm glow remains in our hearts from our visit, and we have booked to return in September 2026 😀 with @Angelfish Travel!||Huge thank you to you for organising our trip this year and for 2026, the personal touch with specialist knowledge of the Maldives makes a...
