Blue Coral Vashafaru Maldives — Hotel in North Thiladhunmathi

This guesthouse was one of the most positive surprises I have ever encountered as a traveller. Having had a bad experience with a guesthouse on another Maldivian island just a year earlier that charges three times the rates of this one, I really didn't know what to expect. After the first day I knew that I have found a true gem.|Blue Coral is a small guesthouse that guarantees a very personal service. The staff was excellent, always with a genuine smile on their face. Shushu, the chef, prepared delicious meals three times a day. We ate lots of fish, including local dishes, also plenty of fruits and vegetables. We truly enjoyed the culinary experience. Some meals were served at the beach, one of them was a romantic dinner just for my husband and me - an unforgettable experience. Another staff member I need to mention is Yusuf, who was also a very friendly and helpful presence throughout our two-week stay.|The rooms are nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. The beds are on the harder side, which might suit some more than others. The bathroom is relatively small, but very functional. The guesthouse is located very close to a beautiful beach, the bikini section is also just a short stroll away.|Transfers were organised by Blue Coral - it takes a local flight to Hanimadhoo and a short boat trip to get there. Also it was possible to book reasonably priced excursions. My favourites were the visit to an uninhabited island and snorkeling with mantas.|We had a very relaxing stay and would go back in...

We had a wonderful time at the Blue Coral Vashafaru.||The room had a great size, it was really clean and the bed was comfortable. Big and modern bathroom!||Mario and his staff (Shushu and Youssef) were accomodating and so so friendly and helpful. Mario explained and taught us a lot about the maldives and Vashafaru.||The food served was tasty and always adjusted to our needs and wants. The fish was always fresh and caught by the cook himself. For breakfast there was always fresh fruits. For Christmas we were even served a surprise dinner at the beach which was beautifully arranged - we were very happy about it!||The bikini beach is not far away from the guesthouse. The chairs to lie on were comfortable and the palm leaves for enough shade were renewed while we were there.||We took two different excursions (Desert Island and Dolphin Cruise) and both were great - the staff was so nice and accomodating!||Communication with Ahmed beforehand was easy and effortless. He organized the domestic flights for us. When we arrived on the airport in Hanimadhoo the speedcruise captains already waited for us.||Overall we can only recommend staying in the Blue Coral Guesthouse - it was a great experience on a great island and we loved it very much!||Thanks to Ahmed, Mario, Shushu...
