Milaidhoo definitely set the standards very high for our first trip to the Maldives. The exceptional hospitality began the moment we arrived at Male airport. We were lost in the sea of tourists, but the Milaidhoo staff plucked us out from that confusion and ushered us to the seaplane seamlessly. When we arrived at the property, we were greeted by the staff by our names. This impeccable attention to detail came in handy when we met our personal butler, Ali. Ali gave us a tour of the entire private property with the help of Lu, the apprentice butler. ||In Milaidhoo, we were delighted to find out that the standard rooms came in overwater villas. For us, a Maldivian experience would not be complete without it. It was very private and elegantly designed. The private infinity pool overlooking the turquoise lagoon with a view of the beautiful sunset felt like a dream. We swam with colorful fishes, playfully nibbling at corals, just by the villa stilts. The personalized welcome note with champagne, pistachio cookies and fruits made us feel special. To complete our Milaidhoo experience, we upgraded to the very spacious beachfront villa on our last two nights. My husband and I were smiling from ear to ear as it was probably one of the best premium suites we have had the opportunity to stay in. We made sure to wake up early to catch the breathtaking sunrise and walk hand-in-hand by the shore, as it had direct access to the ocean. During the day, we took a dip in the private infinity pool, relaxed and just laid down on the chaise lounge or swing. ||Serenity Spa would not be complete without Jonathan! He was the best yogi and massage therapist. He also introduced us to aqua yoga, which was probably the best meditation we’ve had in the pool. He also went above and beyond before and after our massage to give us the best relaxation experience there was. We would also like to give a shout out to Tami and Marini at the spa too. ||We have tried most of the restaurants in Miaidhoo and our favorite was Ba’theli By The Reef. We were introduced to authentic Maldivian herbs, flavor and cuisine while dining inside an anchored Maldivian boat. Our servers, Aimann and the rest of the crew, answered all our inquiries about their culinary culture. On another night, we also could not forget the Seafood Market experience at Shoreline. We got to pick out an unlimited supply of fresh seafood displayed at the restaurant and had them cooked in various methods available. We also did the Chef’s Table at Shoreline for dinner with chef Aaron demonstrating his skills with our Wagyu beef and lamb chops on the grill and live in front of us. Furthermore, as Hilton Diamond members, our breakfast was unlimited at the Ocean restaurant. We always started with the variety of fresh fruit juices and smoothies. From their A la carte menu, the Indonesian Fried Rice and the Avocado Bruschetta stood out for us, while the array of choices in the buffet also made us cheat on our diets in a good way, especially with the sushi and sashimi spread. We also truly enjoyed the idea of choosing fruits from a variety of fresh displays while the staff sliced them and plated them very beautifully every morning. Oswaldo, Shippe and the rest of the Ocean staff never failed to offer assistance in every way. ||Our experience would not be as exquisite without our butler, Ali. He was always on the ready when needed. One time, I got us accidentally locked out of our villa from the overwater balcony and he came to the rescue in seconds! He also arranged for the most perfect in-villa breakfast for us, including the signature Lobster Eggs Benedict and Kale Boost smoothie, while we sat on the overwater balcony staring at the turquoise ocean. He also gifted us with a special and well-crafted bubble bath with tropical hibiscus flowers floating amidst the aromatic foam. He made our stay very comfortable, relaxing and seamless. ||Upon check-out, Milaidhoo made sure we were accompanied by their staff, Zahu, from disembarking the seaplane through the immigration process, airline check-in and to the entrance of our gates. This complimentary service, I think, added soul to the impeccable Milaidhoo hospitality. It definitely felt like a warm hug as we bid farewell to paradise. ||Milaidhoo was truly heaven on earth. The resort blended heartfelt hospitality with luxury. It was an experience my husband and I would never forget. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of our return. We highly recommend this resort and we know that we will...
Read moreWe had the best experience at Milaidhoo over June 20-25, 2025. The trip started when we landed at Velana International Airport after 24+ hour travel day and were greeted by an agent right as we left the baggage claim terminal. A short car ride, seaplane, and speedboat transfer later, we were on the paradise that is Milaidhoo Island. ||The General Manager, Paul, as well as our personal butler, Abdulla, greeted us off the boat and took us directly to our overwater villa. As my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and it being our first time in the Maldives, Abdulla and the entire team at Milaidhoo went above and beyond in treating us like special guests. ||The base overwater villa itself is a large and thoughtfully designed space. The floor to ceiling doors out to the deck from both the bedroom and the bathroom offer great views of the big plunge pool and the Indian Ocean beyond. The daybed and swinging couch outside offered relaxing options to sit out and watch the water drift in and out. The only note for improvement I had were that the mats/rugs in the room could get slippery since they do not have rubber grips on the bottom - be careful if you’re stepping on them on the way in and out. I did see some renovations being done at a few of the overwater villas and the large 2-bedroom villa, so perhaps they are getting refreshed soon!||We started the stay off with one of the best massages we’ve had in one of their four beautiful and private spa rooms. For our anniversary, they even offered a discount so we went back for a second massage before we left. The spa staff were always smiling and were receptive to requested adjustments and desires.||During our stay, we were also blessed with beautiful weather so we were able to sample some of their paid activities as well. They allowed us to go manta ray snorkeling through their dive center even though there were no other guests interested in the trip, essentially giving us a private snorkeling trip out in Hanifaru Bay, where we got up close and personal with a few rays. We also went dolphin watching and the crew were always so happy to share what they know and point out what felt like hundreds of dolphins swimming with our boat. The provided snorkel gear (ours to keep throughout our stay) and kayak equipment (one hour per day) were top notch and provided us great entertainment on slower days. The house reef was beautiful and although we did not see turtles that staff said could show up around the island, we saw so many different types of fish and even sharks. ||Food was good, although we only ate at Ocean Restaurant and never tried Ba’theli by the Reef or The Shoreline Grill. What stood out was the wide selection at the breakfast buffet, ranging from an a la carte menu with specially prepared dishes to an expansive breakfast buffet with curries, dumplings, many different cheeses and cold cuts, sushi and sashimi, and tons of different pastries. The service was always prompt and attentive and we were always visited by a frequently visiting heron. We loved chatting with Alfie, one of the servers, who made his rounds every night and offered anecdotes about things like the stars at night and the names of the birds on the island. We were also surprised by Murey, the food & beverage manager, on the last morning with a specially prepared plate with a shrimp tempura roll, after seeing how much we liked sushi & sashimi at both breakfast and dinner. This type of attention from day to day without even asking for it was much appreciated. We felt like we didn’t have to ask or even think before our wants and desires were met.||It’s a small island and there are only 50 total villas, so it never feels crowded. Abdulla told us each butler handles guests from 6 villas only, so he was always available to make booking requests and answer questions over WhatsApp. We always felt looked after and valued but privacy was also a priority, including housekeeping coming in at exactly the right moments when they knew we would be out. On our final day, Abdulla met us as we were walking to dinner and surprised us with a drawing of a manta ray done by hand and a quick picture of us, which he printed out, framed, and gifted to us, marking the end of a fantastic stay at Milaidhoo. ||If you are looking for an action-packed vacation destination, this would not be it. Instead, if you are pursuing pure relaxation and attentive service, we would highly recommend...
Read moreWe just finished our 5 night stay at milaidhoo. I need to admit, i have been to lots of hotels before, but this stay was better than any before.
Communication: Milaidhoo is very reachable via mail and phone, they will respond very fast. Transfer on arrival: when we arrived at MLE Airport, someone from the team will be waiting on you and escort you to a minivan to get to the seaplane terminal. There you'll be guided to a specific lounge where you'll be able to relax until flight departure. check-in: at arrival you will be met by a team of Milaidhoo. Your butler, after providing some champagne, will show you the island and show your villa. When entering our room we received a small bottle of ruinart champagne and a very big fruit basket. Water pool villa: wow, just wow. Both the interior as the exterior (where you'll spend most of your time) are really beautiful. Outside you'll have like 3 different places, with different shades, to relax and enjoy the views. The bed is very comfy. There are also lots of useful extra's available in the villa: slippers, a beach bag, binoculars, ... Swimming pool: certainly one of the highlights of the villa. The swimming pool is really big and you have amazing views on the ocean. We even had dolphins passing by our villa when we were in the swimming pool. Milaidhoo island: the island is really beautiful, lots of vegetation. It's enjoyable to walk around, but you'll get around in 10 minutes. I went running every morning which is really nice. You have 2 circles, the island itself and the overwater pathway. Combined it's like 1.1km, maybe the most scenic runs I ever did! We also didn't see any mosquito on the island, no need to use any repellent. Aqua center: they have lots of snorkeling gear which they will provide you for your whole stay. Further complementary kayak and paddle boards are available. Snorkeling: we went snorkeling twice an hour a day. Snorkeling at Milaidhoo is just wonderful. From your watervilla you can enter the water and you are above coral. If you swim 50m further you are above like a wall of coral. Every snorkeling trip we encountered lots of fish, sharks, some manta rays and turtles. If you don't want to enter the sea from your villa, they have 2 easy entrances, one is next to beach villa 204. Breakfast: breakfast at Milaidhoo is one of the best we ever had. You have a la carte items that are included and you have a buffet. You would think the buffet would be limited, but everything you can imagine is available. Lunch and dinner: For food you have multiple options: in-room, the maldivian restaurant (batheeli), shoreline grill, ocean, compass and azure. For lunch room service is very efficient, they make your table and you will enjoy lunch with lovely views. Batheeli is a restaurant decorated as a boat with some nurse sharks around during the evening. Ocean restaurant is the main restaurant. Lots of options, nice portions, very good views and a very high food quality. Privacy: another aspect that really surprised us, is the privacy of the whole resort. You sometimes feel like you are one of the only guests on the island, the villa's are also private, so you don't need to be afraid to be disturbed by neighbours. Service: one of the most important and best aspect of Milaidhoo. Everybody is so helpful and friendly, they even all know your name. Turndown service in your villa is also very good. Also your personalized butler, will be your main contact, and you can reach them very easily via whatsapp and they will help you immediately. I will probably forget some people, but special thanks to our butler Kai and Alfie & Joshna from Ocean restaurant. You multiple times made our day. Points of improvement: it's hard to mention here a lot of things, but where we can think of: an umbrella for your terrace that can easily be moved so you can sit in the shade whenever you like. Lying chairs with wheels so they can easily be moved.
Summarized an amazingly great stay. After our stay we immediately booked for...
