Traveling from UK with BA on All Inclusive package.|We read a review which recommended downloading the app and reserving places at the restaurants, booking trips etc. |This is a good idea, just needed to contact the resort for your booking number and the app is ready to go.|It contains a lot of information on each restaurant, and a sample menu, which was exactly what we got when we dined, as the menus were the same pdf on an ipad at the restaurants, or a print out.|The AI package for drinks, cocktails etc is far more than I expected. Our usual Caribbean AI is made up of a few non branded spirits and often pre mixed cocktails.|The buffet doesnât need to be pre booked, but you can see the different themes for each night, Iâd recommend the Maldivian night for the buffet. |Before you travel to the Maldives you need to complete their Government travel declaration online form (IMUGA) within 96 hours before your flight time arrival. There is no longer a requirement to complete an online form before you leave (but please check yourself) This has speeded up the immigration process through the airport. (New terminal opening in 2025 will also help).|So, after you have picked up your bags from the carousel, you exit the baggage reclaim and your representative from Sun Siyam will meet you, holding up the Sun Siyam clipboard. Or if you miss him, head to the booths and find the Sun Siyam one and they will tick you off the list and walk with you to the Trans Maldivian Airways Booking terminal/bag drop off. They walk you through the TMA check in. You need to weigh your bags here, Not more than 20kg per case and one piece of hand baggage, 5kg, per person. Hopefully you have already taken note of this and are not over the limit.|So, bags dropped and you are escorted through to a minibus for a short trip to the TMA seaplane terminal. When dropped off at the seaplane terminal you are met by another Sun Siyam representative who checks you in at the desk and takes you up to the Sun Siyam lounge. Plenty of soft drinks, hot drinks, cake, sandwiches and a few hot dishes. Comfy chairs, complementary 30 min massage and an outside viewing area. When itâs time to go someone will collect you and take you to the Departures area which is a bit closer to the airplanes. And again, you will be escorted along the jetties to the right plane. They are all De Havilland Twin Otters, based on a 1960âs design, more practical than comfortable. A great view, but may be a bit cosy for some people. Good view of the cockpit if you sit near the front.|Sun Siyam Iru Fushi has access for the seaplane directly on to a jetty/bridge connected to the island, so no additional boat transfer. |Now is the first taste of the service by Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, there were welcoming drummers, a cool towel and our butler Vicky greeted us and made sure our cases had arrived with us!|We were then taken on a quick golf buggy ride around the island and to our Beach Villa. We could have been taken to lunch, or a drink at the bar, it was our choice. Arrived at our room where we signed a couple of forms and were checked in. No long queues or waiting. We had completed the info. required in the Sun Siyam app while still at home regarding our swimming skills etc.|Vicky our butler could see what we had already booked and we connected via Whatsapp for further bookings.|Off to the Iru Buffet on our first night, which exceeded my expectations. They have a superb choice; catering for Indian, Asian, Russian, Middle East etc which makes the buffet interesting.|Also vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options and the chefs are around helping to make choices.|During our stay there was never a dish on a menu or a drink that was unavailable. |Our AI included a Sunset Cruise, Local Island Experience, Nature Walk and Wine Tasting that we took up. Visiting a local island was very interesting to see how their infrastructure and governance works.|Taste of India was probably my favourite restaurant, excellent food that is served on individual dishes so can be easily shared. |Lunchtime menu at Fluid Bar had a few more items than Reflections.|Main thing to note is the staff that make it special. They are all helpful and have obviously been well trained, and put it into practice.|Special mention for Vicky and Fayaz our Butlers over our 10 nights, really friendly and helpful people. Quite a surprise to find our carriage/golf buggy waiting when we were setting off to a restaurant, and again for the ride home, without us asking. Also sorted out an iron & problem with the TV very quickly, and checked to make sure it had happened. (I think we would still be waiting in the Caribbean). They work in the background to make sure everything is going well. And at the end of the holiday they will let you know the check out procedure, and give you a wake up call if you need it.|Thank you to Hassan, an excellent guide for the sunset cruise and island experience, taking pictures for guests and sharing his knowledge of the Maldives.|Thank you to Shah for his guidance on the Nature Walk. A very dedicated person who shares his knowledge and experience in a personal way.|Also appreciated the restaurant managers, chefs that ask what we like, what we have eaten, if everything is OK, where would we like to sit, etc. without being intrusive. It feels like they are really care.|We were close to Nemo Park, so snorkeling there every day, as it is a good place to go, as you can walk in from the beach. Met a shark a few times having a sniff around, Blacktip Reef Shark, so not a danger to humans. Good idea to have water shoes as there is broken up coral on the shoreline in some places. |Air and sea temperatures are similar and donât change much day or night, around 29C. |Had one rain shower overnight.|Only negative was bug bites, not in the room as it had a plug in killer, the grounds were sprayed, and we used plenty of good repellent, we were just unlucky with the direction of the wind, recent rain or something. So pack plenty of repellant as all the restaurants and bars, and bathroom, are open air or open sided. Not closed in and not air conditioned.|Another bit of knowledge to share is for the trip back home. Put your bags outside the room and they are collected and taken to the seaplane. You can go for breakfast after checking to see if there is anything to pay on the bill. Fayaz, our butler, booked us out and collected us later after breakfast to escort us to the seaplane.|Small departure lounge on the pier, air con, W/C, water available. When the bags are all loaded you can board and fly off to Male.|Similar to arrival, you walk from the seaplane without your cases, and take a mini bus ride to the main terminal.|When you are dropped off at the terminal, you need to wait for someone to speak to you regarding flight number etc. They will pick up the cases for you from the TMA area. |The porter will| then take you through to the departure area. He stays with you through the first security screening to enter the terminal, and then takes you to the check in desk / baggage drop, then he will take you over to the bottom of the stairs where you need to go through the passport check and security screening. Note, Business Class etc have a fast lane through passport control and security. A very much appreciated experience to be guided through the terminal.|Would definitely visit again, and the other Sun Siyam resorts are definitely on the short list for future trips. |The Maldivian hospitality made this my best...
Read moreSpent 11 nights at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi at the end of May 2025. The Sun Siyam Lounge at Male airport was very welcome to us all after a long direct flight from Heathrow. Children especially loved all the food choices available as well as many drink options. We ate our food on the swing chair watching the sea planes arrive and depart - a great way to start our holiday. Spending no longer than a hour here, we then departed on the Sun Siyam Sea plane for a 45minute flight. We were greeted by many members of staff who gave us a garland and flower for my hair, as well as a wonderful drum reception. We were taken to our Beach Villa by our Butler - Thahseen - who talked us through everything we needed to know. After reading many reviews on here, we had booked many restaurants and activities on the App before we arrived. We loved the App and found it very useful. Our Beach Villa 203 was very close to everything but also very close to where the Sea Planes take over very early each day from around 6am. After our first night I spoke to Reception and asked if we could move to the other side of the island which they were able to do that afternoon. We moved to Villa 289 which had a Pool. This was amazing! We all loved this and the location was quieter and less in the thick of it. All of the Standard Beach Villas are located on the side where the Sea Planes take off - if you are easily woken then this may be an issue for you. We were fortunate that island occupancy was around 35% so there were options for us to move. After having a Pool Villa, I would 100% recommend these especially if you have children.|We ate at every restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Staff were amazing and very attentive throughout. The food is outstanding for All Inclusive and the wine choices were great too. The beauty of this resort is that you are not limited to just one visit to the restaurants, you can go as many times as you would like, as long as you can get booked in. My favourite for location/atmosphere was Flavours. We were told before going that Trio would not be available so were disappointed until we realised that Flavours would be having the Trio menu too as a separate menu. Eating outside under the stars with the sharks and fish around you is magical.|The Buffet restaurant was great for breakfast but I wasn't a fan of the sit down A'la carte options for lunch with a limited buffet - we would have preferred a larger buffet but maybe this was due to low occupancy and not wanting to waste food? Either way we decided to eat at Fluid or Waters Edge each day for lunch which provided great options. Staff in the Buffet were always on hand to help with anything we needed. There are lots of cats around the Buffet area - very sweet - but sometimes a bit too eager to see if any food is left. |Every member of staff we spoke to or had an interaction with were so friendly and helpful. They really helped to make our holiday - nothing was too much trouble. A few names to mention - Sonu, Grishma, Susmita, Panca, Nischal|Special mention to Abbas who makes the amazing pancakes for breakfast. He made me many animals and even tried to create a pancake of our pet dog - amazing creativity! He also works in Fluid for lunch and made our lunches very special.|Staff at the Waters Edge, day or night were always on hand to deliver us milkshakes or cocktails. A welcome treat after a snorkel off the House Reef.|The weather was changeable during our stay - plenty of sunshine, very windy and some rain. The wind meant that for 4-5 days of our holiday, there was a red flag by the House Reef which meant that we could not swim. Even on the other days, you needed to be a strong swimmer against the waves - definitely not for everyone. We saw plenty of fishes, sharks and a couple of turtles. We also snorkelled from the beach outside our Villa which was mostly much calmer and still saw plenty of fish. Just beware that there is lots of coral as you enter the ocean so water shoes/flippers are advised.|We used the Spa a couple of times - once for my free facial which was amazing and then for a couples massage where we also used the Hydro Pool area with our children for 1 hr beforehand. Both experiences were very relaxing and good value for money. |We took part in the free Nature Walk and the Wine Tasting which were both very enjoyable and led by knowledgeable staff. We also did the Sunset Cruise which was lovely but was on one of the windy days so the current/waves were quite strong. We saw some dolphins but too cloudy for the sunset.|The windy conditions also meant that we were unable to use the Kayaks or SUP until our last day when I begged them to go out, which was a shame, but understandable due to the wind.|We made use of the Pool Table, Table Tennis, Darts and Tennis courts while we there. The Recreation room is the hottest room on resort - open to the weather so unable to have A/C. More fans around the room would be beneficial though.|We all enjoyed the swimming pool at Fluid. A fantastic size and depth too.||We really enjoyed our holiday at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi. Just a little disappointed that the wind affected some of the activities we had planned to do but can't be helped. Staff definitely made up for this and treated us so well...
Read moreWhat a fantastic holiday we had at Iru Fushi as we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on the island early July. We stayed for 7 nights and were thoroughly spoiled and treated like king and queen. The personalised and attentive approach was set right from arrival at Velana International airport where we met our representative and were led to the seaplane terminal where we had some time to refresh and had some food before taking our seaplane to our resort. The welcome to our resort were out of this world and right from the start our butler Naveen looked after us and taken care of our every needs. His patience and understanding are exemplary. All throughout our stay he took care of us and any issues or requests he got back to us almost immediately and helped us so much during our stay. Naveen thank you so much for all you have done we both really appreciate of how much you have looked after us. |We also appreciate so much of our house keeper Mari who works so hard to ensure our water villa is clean and prepared. Thank you so much for your anniversary decoration of our room and ensuring our fridge are well stocked.|There a plenty of choices in breakfast at Iru restaurant and you are guaranteed to be spoiled for choices. Special mention to Harish who always serve us with a smile and always make sure we have our coffee every morning. Thank you so much Goshan for your kind attention to us and taking your time amongst your busy day to chat with us. |A special shout out to Sathis who is a genius pancake artist. Your smile and attention to all guests including the little ones are such a rarity. I have enjoyed the chats we have whilst waiting for your pancake creation |A special mention to Sandip on Iru restaurant who looks after us for our evening meals, thank you so much for your attentiveness. |We enjoyed so much seeing different types of fishes in the corals just off our villa, the different types of fishes we seen were mind blowing and have left us wanting to return for more. Seeing the turtles, stingrays and sharks has been highlights of our stay.|During our stay we also had a spa treatment at Thalgo Spa. The staff at the Spa are all superb and so attentive. A special mention to Jean who helped us to book for our treatment and always took her time to speak to us. |We spent most of our afternoon at Reflections pool having a spot of lunch as well cooling off at the pool enjoying the relaxing vibe. The staff at Reflections have all been great but a special mention to Rasul who has been excellent in her service and attentiveness to us for the whole time when we are at the pool side. |The staff at Waters Edge are always so friendly and always check on us whether we would like any further drinks or not. Thank you for all your servings of rose coolers.|We spent our anniversary meal at Bamboo restaurant and would like to thank all the staff who made every effort to made our anniversary meal so special. Thank you once again to Harendra and the team you guys have made us feel so special and pampered on our anniversary dinneră |Our last evening we went to Taste of India and has a lovely meal there. We are so sorry we did not get your individual names that evening but thank you to all the staff there who made our last evening meal very special indeed. |We would like to thank Jaweeth who always checks on us and ensure we are well looked after during our staff. |Lastly we would like to thank Naufal for being an amazing manager who took his time to find and chat with us, always checking on us to see if all things are ok. You are not afraid of helping the rest of your staff & team at anytime. You are a fantastic leader of your team and we are so grateful of the care and help you gave to us during our stay all the way to our last day.||Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is an amazing island with crystal clear blue water, outstanding natural beauty which is difficulty to rival. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this paradise on earth. Beauty aside the thing that stands out most are the people, the staff and their warmth and personal attentiveness extended towards us all throughout our stay. Your kindness will never be forgotten. |Indeed once we have been to Iru Fushi we realised that it is true that the phase Welcome Home. Iru Fushi will always be home in our hearts and we are planning to return home again hopefully in not too distance future.|Thank you so much once again from the bottom of our...
