Velaa Private Island Maldives — Hotel in South Miladhunmadulu

The so called luxury Velaa resort is a sham, arrived by their seaplane which had no air con on one side, so you can imagine the sweltering plane ride, to top it off they provided only 3 small water bottles, so hot, sweaty and thirsty is how my 10 year old arrived at hotel. Entered the room to be told that the AC is only in the room not the wardrobe or WC area, so more sweaty and sweltering feeling. Perhaps if they call themselves a 4 star hotel, I would have not complained. Come here if you love to be disappointed and waste your money, heading off the Cheval Blanc, the true luxury paradise in Maldives. After receiving the GM reply, here is what I have to add, the Cheval blanc plane is fully air conditioned, so please don’t misguide users of this forum, yes I agree for guests who know luxury perhaps your resort is not suitable at all. And please don’t spread lies on this forum by saying there’s air on in the wrabrobe and the wc area, it’s sad to see you resorting to false information, my best wishes on ruining your owners money by running a shabby hotel and then lying on top of that. Best of luck for you 4 star hotel. Again please stop...

The best family vacation... We are so blessed to stay in Velaa Private Island for 3 nights and experienced both beach villa and Sunset water villa. Both villas are beautifully designed, luxurious, immaculate and equipped with thoughtful amenities. The island itself is naturally beautiful with top notch facilities. There are many activities for everyone in your family. Food and drinks here are top notch. Kudos to chefs and F&B team. Aragu is the best restaurant with the World class cuisine. Our mom has the best birthday celebration in Aragu with live piano and the wonderful team. Special thanks to Shaaz for making this family vacation the best and memorable one, Jihad our best butler for taking care of us from the minute we stepped in Velaa Private Island to last minute of bidding farewell, Mustho for incredible birthday celebration of our mom in Aragu, and Rameez and all villa attendants to keep our villas super clean and tidy. Higly recommended for everyone who seek for the best of the best. Definitely, 5 star is not enough for Velaa Private Island. Hope to see you...

Having spent 12 days at Velaa, we are sure this is the only hotel we would like to return to in the Maldives. It is perfection! The resort is even more beautiful than the pictures online, and the villas, restaurants, amenities and service are all top. We had the pleasure of being looked after by the butler, Muiz, who was a wonderful person. Muiz was warm, funny, kind and went above and beyond to accommodate us during our stay. We really cannot falter any part of this resort. Everyone who works at Velaa is extremely friendly, always saying hello, and during a cocktail we had the opportunity to meet some of the executive team who were all equally extremely kind.
