We didn't expect a luxury accommodation in Chinguetti, but were looking forward to clean and decently nice place since it's a French owned. The 2-night stay was disappointing. There was only 1 young man attending to the place. He was clearly unhappy that he had to work when it was supposed to be a slow season. The rooms were very small and windowless. We didn't expect to use communal bathrooms and toilets. As a woman, I felt very unsafe to take shower and use toilet in rather remote locations of the hotel. We ended in Chingueti and honestly anything would be good. Our auberge was very peaceful, no tourists except us. Rooms are very basic but they have running water.. so a shower was a manna from heaven. Anyway we were here in september and the room inside was terribly hot.
