After a long 12-hour flight from London, we arrived at Astroea Beach Hotel for our honeymoon and were instantly made to feel truly at home. We were warmly welcomed by Lovelesh, who — from start to finish — exemplifies the very definition of hospitality. More on him later!||The hotel itself is beautifully peaceful and tranquil, with stunning beachfront views from both our room and the restaurant. It’s maintained to an impeccably high standard, and the grounds are immaculate — a big thank you to the dedicated gardener whose work did not go unnoticed.||Despite our early arrival at 8:00am, we were immediately offered coffee, juice, and breakfast — the perfect start to a stay where we never felt like we were wanting for anything.||Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and overlooked the sea — an idyllic retreat for our 10-night stay. It was consistently cleaned to perfection and came equipped with a well-stocked minibar, an extra-large comfortable bed, a powerful shower, a spacious wardrobe, a sofa, and two balconies to take in the breathtaking views.||A short stroll along the sweeping, sandy beaches brought us to Blue Bay, where we enjoyed boat trips, fresh coconut water, delicious food, and local ice cream. The glass-bottom boat tour was a particular highlight — we highly recommend it!||We hired a car to explore the island, guided by fantastic recommendations from the hotel staff. Speaking of the staff — what a phenomenal team of people. Each one contributed something special to our experience. Every single person we encountered was incredibly friendly, always greeted us warmly, and made us feel valued and welcome.||Lovelesh at reception is the kind of person every hotel should be lucky to have. He is intuitive, thoughtful, and somehow always one step ahead of our needs. Whether it was arranging trips, transport, or simply checking in on us, he made everything seamless. He is a true gem of the hospitality world.||Manesha, who led the restaurant team during most of our stay, was equally wonderful. Her attentiveness and warmth made every meal a joy. We enjoyed heartfelt conversations with her and appreciated her insights into Mauritian culture. On our first night, we casually mentioned that we preferred Coke Zero over Coca-Cola. Without us realising, she passed the message on to Renuka, who ensured we had Coke Zero in our room every day thereafter — such a thoughtful touch!||Renuka looked after our room and made it feel like a sanctuary. Every day, it was spotless, often adorned with creative towel arrangements. She also shared lovely recommendations on local places to visit. It’s clear she is a much-loved part of the team — and now by us too.||Xavier greeted us with a warm smile every time we saw him. His friendly, cheerful presence lit up the space and made us feel truly welcome.||Ousha made my husband’s holiday by ensuring he always had a large, hot chocolate to enjoy — a simple gesture that meant a lot. She certainly knew the way to his heart!||Adrianna and Yash worked incredibly hard and were always smiling and welcoming. Their service in the restaurant was exceptional, and their positive energy was infectious.||A special thank you to the lovely lady, Sonia who kindly helped me dress in my Indian outfit when I was unsure how to wear it. Your kindness and assistance meant so much to me. ||To the chef, who ensured our stomachs and hearts were full at every single meal — wow! The food was consistently incredible, from breakfast through to the late-night snacks. Every dish was rich with flavour and created with love and precision. His culinary talents truly made every dining experience memorable and could not be compared — simply outstanding.||The security team also deserves a heartfelt mention — they were discreet yet reassuring, always present and professional. They made us feel incredibly safe throughout our stay, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy every moment.||And lastly, a heartfelt thank you to the gardener, who worked tirelessly to keep the hotel looking pristine. After a storm, he miraculously had the grounds looking untouched by the very next morning. His dedication was truly admirable.||We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our honeymoon. Every single person at Astroea Beach Hotel went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Thank you for a truly magical experience — we can’t...
Read moreThe hotel has a beautiful location offering a private beach just some few steps away from your room. I believe its the only positive thing I found about this hotel as its ideal if you want a peaceful break from the routine busy and noisy city.
However, there's so many things that really need improvement from the management. The room was not properly cleaned, the bed sheets and duvet were old and dirty. So many things from electrical sockets to bathroom tap were broken and there was no hot water as well.
For the food, it was really basic and despite being offered a choice of 2 on a menu a la carte, we still had to wait for ages to get our food which was worse than canteen food. For dinner, I had chosen grilled fish and was really shocked to find out that the main dish was just a square piece of grilled fish measuring 5cm by 5cm served with some salads and chips. For dessert, i had a moelleux chocolat but i recon it was prepared in the microwave as it was as chewy as a chewing gum.
With regards to the staff, despite being friendly, it was obvious that they lacked professional coaching as I don't find it normal for them to be refering to tables by the personal traits of customers instead of the table number. For example, it was the cocktail for the Chinese guy, the starter for the Bald guy, the fat lady looking for her dessert and it went out like that during the whole service.
When I found out that this hotel was the sister hotel of the very famous Preskil, i really had high expectations for the standards but I was much disappointed. I really hope that the management can refer to my critisms as something constructive and an opportunity to improve where needed cause this hotel has very good potentials!!! It's just like a brut diamond that needs a proper polishing to shine like a...
Read moreThis is a three star hotel. However, whenever Lovelesh was on duty, (luckily most of the time we were there), the service felt like five-star luxury. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He would even come and find us on the beach to offer us drinks and snacks. Once he knew what we liked he would just appear with them.| |Julian was also excellent. Very helpful and professional.| |We saw less of Xavier, but, when he was on duty, he was also excellent and professional.| |The female staff, apart from one or two exceptions were generally unhelpful and disinterested. On the day before we departed they suddenly became very friendly and helpful giving the impression that they were hoping for a tip. Perhaps they need better training. | |Finally, Sam the manager is clearly a good guy who wants guests to enjoy their stay. He is attentive and will try and address any issues. On our checkout day we had a late flight. Sam went out of his way to ensure we could enjoy one last lovely day at the hotel. Our room was needed for an early check in. Sam provided another room for us (one that had already been cleaned) for us to keep our things, and shower after being on the beach. Many thanks to Sam for making this last day hassle free and very enjoyable.||For those who consider “all inclusive” to mean “all you can eat, all the time” this hotel is not for you. The food is excellent - you choose after breakfast what you’d like for your 3 course dinner, with two choices per course. The lunchtime menu is equally as delicious. Wines are great too! ||We look forward to returning for...
