This is really the best option in Rodrigues. The resort has perfect location in a very quiet area of Rodrigues, in front of a beautiful beach - the beach is kept in a natural state, no watersports or sun loungers are disturbing its beauty (but don’t worry, off course there are sun loungers available, they are nicely hidden under the trees by the beach). There is a beach area dedicated for swimming, where you can swim without problems (not too shalow but at the same time you can still reach the sea bottom). There are also some corals, so don’t forget to pack your snorkeling gear - they do not provide it in the resort.
We very much appreciated the privacy in the resort, as you have your own private villa. Each villa has sea views - as it is situated in slightly hilly terrain, the view on the turquoise sea from the elevated places is simply breathtaking! The best view is from the main restaurant, we loved having breakfast every day with this view!
The food is perfect in the resort. For breakfast you will have simple buffet, with apprx. 8 a la carte options - eggs on different style, crepes, toast with roasted vegetables, etc. I highly recommend the a la carte options, basically you can have different meal every morning. If you prefer bigger portions, it is better to specify it (my husband loved the crepes, he ordered 5 crepes every morning 🤭). Don’t expect rich buffet for breakfast with plenty of options, they rather focus on few quality options a la carte.
Dinner is a la carte (3-course menu), different choices every evening. Once per week there is buffet.
Lunch is not included if you did not prepay a fullboard. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great, they offer plenty of local dishes as well - so we ended eating most of our lunches in the resort and we were happy!
The service is very good and personalized. The general manager is often seen as talking with the guests, checking if everything is OK, listening to their feedback. That is very much appreciated.
If you like being active, we recommend trying some hiking trails along the coast which are available directly from the resort. The most beautiful trek is from Tekoma to its sister property C Mourouk. The nature and views are brethtaking. Also it is nice to visit Ile aux Cocos and Ile aux Chats (by boat) or the giant turtles sanctuary on the island.
I sincerely hope that we could return to Constance Tekoma one day, it is truly a very...
Read moreThe room was FULL OF ANTS! And no, this is not because Rodrigues is a tropical island, it’s because of poorly finished room, there are gaps everywhere,so ants are coming in from the gaps around the switches for example!I woke up one morning just to see my cup which I left the night before on the bed cabinet full of ants. Every time I wanted to pour water I had to check if ants are in my cup or the glass. Bathroom was also full of mould. There is no iron?! You have to pay to use the iron?!I’ve never seen that before in any hotel in my life! The service is rude, unfriendly and dismissive.Completely unprofessional. One day I asked if someone could bring a bottle of water to the room, a guy knocked on the door, he could be anyone, no uniform, no name tag, he started to point at the empty bottle placed on the room cabinet shouting: there, there! I was upset and I asked him if he want the empty bottle, but he kept shouting “there”! He didn’t want to give me a full bottle until I gave him the empty one, but even if the language is the problem there is polite way to ask for something. He didn’t say thank you or bye.I was thinking, did I really pay for all this?! Breakfast was terrible, full of flies and bird poo on the chairs, I understand that no one can’t stop the birds of coming in and I don’t mind the birds,I mind staff not cleaning the bird poo from the chairs and table! Dinner was chaotic and slow and staff was more interested in guests who tipped them, no one has ever approached me with a smile, they were consistently rude! Is staff selective in their customer service approach? Obviously yes because I didn’t experience anything positive reviews claim to! One day I wanted to use the sun loungers but they were taken by trespassers, none of those people were guests of the resort?I took my towel and sit down on the beach, yet fisherman casually walked through the hotel grounds and decided to fish right in front of me?! I don’t mind people fishing, but of the whole long beach does he really have to fish where the hotel is?!? Every morning staff was shouting and gathering around laundry room I guess, and as you are passing by they are starring at you like you are disturbing them! Swimming pool was disgustingly dirty, grease was floating over the top of it.
I wish i could give...
Read moreWe were looking forward to a relaxing staying at this hotel. We have been in other Constance before, but I’m afraid this is the poorest we have visited so far. ||The room is decent, and we also got an upgrade to beach villa, which was quite nice so we could have our own sunbeds, however the room needs better maintenance with water leaking in from the bathroom doors and sink not working properly, which nobody bother to fix. ||The beach is as advertised, beautiful and blue water, with lovely easy hikes from the hotel, however due to the wind and weather we were unable to make the most of them. ||This place is not set up for poor weather, unfortunately we had 3 days or rains and heavy wind and there is nothing you can do in the hotel. There is no sofa inside the room, so you can only seat on the bed. There are some books/game in the reception area but they look so dusty and old that you don’t want to touch them. There are no activities organized, you can only pay for massages. The pool is really small and if there are people, they are smoking which makes it impossible to stay. ||The food is average, not really tasty and breakfast portion are really small, that we had to keep asking for double portions. My wife is gluten and lactose free, they took the time to ensure the plate didn’t have any, however the service is not consistent. For example, we found out only during the last breakfast that they could provide gluten free bread and vegetable butter. They should do a better service at explaining options and what available considering the shared our allergies before arriving. ||Make sure you get a car so you can drive around and explore and get some food out of the hotels. ||I’m afraid we will not be back and don’t...
