Just got back from a four night stay here. What an amazing place! The hotel itself is really quaint, the rooms are comfortable and private. But the real highlights are the people and food! Patty, the owner, is amazing. She is incredibly friendly and helpful. My friend who was organizing the trip had been in contact with her beforehand, and she even went out of her way to inform us that the winds were going to be unfavourable for fishing for the first few days of our trip and she helped us find accommodations in another town where we could get out on the water. She gave up 2 nights x 5 rooms to help us get a better experience on the water. I can't say enough about this selfless act. When we did arrive at her hotel, she made sure she had two fishing captains ready to take us out the next day, and after speaking with some long time visitors to Los Barilles, we learned that our captains were the best fishermen in town. We had a great fishing experience, including a marlin and sailfish which we put back, and the hotel kitchen prepared the fish we caught. The chef was also amazing and I can honestly say that some of the meals here were the best I've ever had. We had fresh sashimi, fresh ceviche, as well as fresh grilled and fried fish. Their "normal" menu is also fantastic, and I had tempura shrimp and fish tacos numerous times and I now crave them daily. So light and delicious (and I tried these in other restaurants in mexico and they weren't the same). The bartender, Jesus, was one of the most genuinely friendly people I have ever met. The margaritas were exceptional, and we also encouraged him to get creative and surprise us with other cocktails. All of them were delicious. If I have only one small criticism, it's that the outdoor bar / dining area is not smoke free, and many of the guests did smoke. There was typically a good number of "local" American smokers who come by for a drink late afternoon, but the crowd would thin out before 7pm, and by the time we were eating dinner, the air was clear and it was pretty quiet. I didn't have a problem with the smoke because it is an open air environment and fairly breezy, but I can imagine that if someone is extremely bothered by second hand smoke, they would not like this experience. Lastly, the resident dogs. They are adorable and friendly. They add to the warmth and ambiance of the place. I would highly recommend staying here as you will eat amazing food, drink amazing cocktails, pay a very reasonable price, and Patty will make sure that your stay in Los Barilles exceeds your expectations. I can't wait to go back! An absolute...
Read moreSuch a beautiful place this is! Hotel Los Pescadores is a little garden oasis off the beaten path. The grounds are gorgeous and the air is filled with the smells of plumeria. The rooms are clean and well kept and most have all the amenities one might need including their own kitchens/kitchenettes. If there is something you need the staff will go above and beyond to see that you are taken care of. It is a very laid back atmosphere with drinks that are cold and strong at a reasonable price. I recommend trying the frozen mango daiquiris and margaritas when in season. The pina coladas are top notch as well. If these aren't your style the bar surely has something to quench your thirst from tequilla to whiskey and wine to brew. The restaurant on site is also very good. The fish is as fresh as it comes so try the ceviche or the sashimi and you won't be disapointed. They also have the best wings in town. Breakfast is also phenominal. Try the Ole' or juevos rancheros. They even have blueberry pancakes for the kiddos. This hotel also offers guided fishing tours that come highly recommended. The captains love to fish and will work hard to put...
Read moreOur friends recommended this small hotel to us and we couldn’t have been happier. This was our first visit to Baja and Los Barriles, we are thrilled with our experiences.|The owner Patti was so accommodating to our every need. Our room was spacious and very clean. The firm, but comfortable beds had luxury linens, that welcomed my tired and sunburned body after a day of fishing (and catching!). |Professional bartender Daniel and his co-worker Reuben were an absolute delight. They made our evenings so special and enjoyable making us feel like long time local patrons. |We arranged a fishing trip with Patti who also runs fishing charters from her hotel. We enjoyed a great day on the water catching some nice fish for our dinner. |I have to say we were a bit concerned about coming to Mexico with so many of our friends cautioning us about the crime. Bad things can happen anywhere, one must always be aware of their surroundings. But, I have never felt more safe and secure than I did while staying at Hotel Los Pescadores. It far exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend them for your accommodations...
