Palapa 206 ...aptly named because that’s the kilometre marker distance it’s located at. It is just south of Cuidad Constitution about 2 or 3 km. A vertical Motel sign which could be more prominent marks the driveway ...watch closely for it on right hand side of the road heading south. Mike the owner lives onsite and is very accommodating and employs pleasant staff. ||||We love the garage aspect of this motel as we can hunker down close the garage door and easily retrieve our luggage right at our room door. If you are carrying a high load in your truck box ie a quad...you might make it in..as we did once when I stood on the rear bumper and it gave us 2 inches of clearance! Otherwise can pull your truck in as far as is possible with back end out. Cars, definitely no problem. Mike also has full hookups for RV camper and coaches and length of your RV doesn’t matter...it’s a football field sized area. ||||The rooms are clean and well looked after. Some of the furnishings have had incidents and things are starting to wear. A small price for clean and convenient! There is wifi. No restaurant but you can eat in town or buy food at Leys on south heading out of town. Three lovely well behaved dogs keep and eye on the office and the property... just doing their job. We’ve stayed here a number of times going to and from our Baja winter destination and have never had a bad experience. ||||Howeve a word of caution when travelling through the city of Cuidad Constituion. There are 14 alto signs (stop signs). Make sure you keep your eye peeled for them. Come to a rolling stop each time. Because the locals drive through them doesn’t mean you can or should. Watch you speed. They have over zealous police that are at times patrolling and MAY stop you saying you’ve committed an infraction. We’ve never had the pleasure..but know others that have. We also have a dashcam which we think is necessary should you ever have to back up your statement! ...
Read moreIt wasn't a bad stop for a night. The dogs peeing on our car tires was a bit frustrating, not just a few times but it became their go to place. It was a bit loud at night with the dogs barking and music form a near by place, and the smell of sewage was the most horrible smell I have ever smelt 🤢 The owner was nice and helpful, but started throwing politics into the conversation. The spots are very tight, water pressure was good 250 pesos for water and sewer, we didn't need the 110 hookup. Would go there again for the price but would only be a quick...
Read moreI found the owner, Mike, to be friendly and helpful. There really isn't much in the area as far as attractions go, if you need an overnight stop it will work but there is very little shade to no shade and it is quite dusty.
The road noise was rather loud until pretty late and there were LOTS of dogs barking very late into the night.
We wouldn't stay here again due to the noise and dusty/shadeless...
