A little hard to give this place only two stars, but nonetheless. Both my nights I had an invasion of ants when it got dark. Very spotty wifi - at some times fairly reliable, at others (it seemed most of the time) have connection for 30 seconds lose it for a minute. Sometimes none at all. Put a $100 peso bill in the vending machine (which it explicitly says it accepts), and then it stopped working. A staff member told me it doesn’t accept $100’s. I showed him where it said it did on the machine. He seemed genuinely apologetic but said he could do nothing - no refund and he couldn’t fix it (it stopped working) - as it was independently owned and managed. It is hard for me to believe that the hotel could not refund me 100 pesos and then square with the owner later. Also surprised to see that by the time I left, the machine still read that it takes $100’s… couldn’t it just be covered up to avoid this problem in the future???
But staff is very friendly. The grounds are gorgeous with a variety of flora and a grove of, I think, mandarins which the staff allow and even encourage you to pick for yourself if they’re ripe. Though some very loud construction ruined some of the relaxing vibe of the gardens. The room is nice in size, same with the bathroom which has good hot water...
Read moreThis Hotel is in the middle of many miles of desert and food stands. It was an oasis of greenery in a well kept huge garden. We couldn't figure out how to make a reservation so were hoping we could get in. Unfortunately, there was only one room left with four beds so we had to pay much more but it was a nice clean comfortable place and I love plants and gardens so we took it. The food from the Restaurant was wonderful. I had the garlic butter with shrimp and received a super large portion we split the next day. We enjoyed walking around. It was clean and so comfortable. I will definitely stay...
Read moreWe pulled into SQ with the wind blowing, dust flying, tumbleweeds tumbling and rutted and muddy dirt streets. And acres of farms with workers in hazmat suits spraying god knows what on the strawberries. Not up to our hopes for a great experience. Luckily we stayed at Jardines which made things much better. Love the grounds, a great restaurant and a super-comfy room improved our flagging spirits. The bed was really comfy with nice bedding and pillows. Hope to return to SQ and have a better experience.
