We stayed as a big group for a week as part of an annual fishing trip we do every year. I'll start by saying this is the most expensive place we have ever stayed in LA Bay by more than double and it was definitely not worth the price. My family stayed in room #12. Room was clean, albeit small for the price. Never had a hot shower for more than 60 seconds the 6 nights we stayed. Everytime we wanted to take a shower we'd check and find it cold. I'd go to the front desk and they'd get the maintenance guy who would come to the utility closet downstairs and turn on the water heater. After that the water would be hot for about a minute and then shut off again mid shower. Not to mention the water pressure was non-existant and barely a trickle coming out whether hot or cold. After several days of this we finally gave up on trying to get a hot shower. Now my family is used to camping in Baja and having cold showers or no showers so this wouldn't be a big concern for us if we weren't paying $150/night for the room. There are so many better options in LA for less than half the price that I wouldn't recommend staying here. The pool was nice, but food and drinks at the bar were also insanely over-priced for what is standard for the area. They have a freezer on site which they told us was available to freeze our fish but didn't mention that they charge $15/day for it's use. We had a huge group with 8 rooms and there were other rooms that had water pressure and hot showers, just not our room or our neighbors room which was #11. I'd definitely recommend looking around as you can find places of equal or better quality for a fraction of the cost. If you think $100-$200 for a room, $15-$20 for a meal and $10 for a cocktail is a good deal then you'll love it. But if you appreciate that those prices are excessive for Baja you'll want to look elsewhere for a...
Read moreWe enjoyed our stay at Los Vientos. It has a killer location on a prime section of beach. Being able to walk right out your door and into the bay is a real luxury. There is a peace, a quiet, and a tranquilty to the sunrises over the islands and water that cannot be beat. Other things we liked are the shower water being super hot and the bed is very comfortable. For the price we paid, we do feel there are some things that could be improved and most of them are fixable. The house-keeping staff seem... unhappy. Reception people are very friendly and helpful, but there was a confusion with our bill at check-out which seemed like something that could have been avoided. The construction and maintenance are lacking, so upkeep has to be done to maintain the 3.5 stars that they claim. I assume that as Bahia de los Angeles becomes more popular, there will be increased competition in hospitality that will necessitate each place upping their standards and practices. We hope that Los Vientos Hotel does this because we would stay...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Beautiful location at Bahia de Los Angeles. Looks very picturesque driving in. Lovely office for check in. Very nice restaurant and outside palapa bar. Sorry, but that's where it ends. Room maintenance was atrocious...towel racks falling off walls, toilet not bolted to the floor, slider door handle came completely off in my hand, no front door insulation trim so the wind blew through all night long, curtains not in tracks. The worst part was the power went out early in the evening of our first night. This hotel is not equipped to handle this often-occuring problem in the town. No back-up generator, no solar panels, nada. Their water pumps are electric...so no water. They brought us a bucket of water to flush the toilet. We were told the electricity would probably be out for a couple of days (because it usually is) so we had to leave. We requested a refund just for the second night we weren't going to be there and were told there are no refunds. Nightmare....
