Very poor value for money. I paid about 20x what I usually pay for a hostel, and only becauss my options in Tapachula were limited. I wondered around the hotel restaurant and sat down for awhile and recieved no service. Eventually i got staff attention and learnt that breakfast was not included. They refused to include it when I asked. The food on the menu was expensive and had no vegan options and not even any plant-based milks for my coffee. The receptionists could not help me with my ongoing travels. The shower was cold. I never recieved any responce to my questions on whatsapp about my arrival. I found the cleaners in my room even though i had put a 'do not disturb' sign on the door. The gym is very limited. The weights rack is mostly empty. There are no yoga mats. On the plus side, the room was tidy, the cleaners were kind, the grounds were beautiful. To compare, in Tulum I spent $230 pesos per night and got free breakfast, a pool, activities, support etc. Many places across Mexico I spend $100 pesos per night. Hotel Loma Real was expensive and...
Read moreWe travel around the world, and the behavior of this hotel's management refreshed our new understanding of integrity and moral bottom line. We booked three houses on the Booking and Traveluro websites respectively. The prices were 1,600 and 1,400 respectively. The price at the counter that night was more than 3,000. The prices were very different. They refused us to check in because they had not received the platform information, and we showed the platform After sending a confirmation email to the hotel, they also denied it. Finally, Booking called them, but they also denied it. We were there from 3pm to 9pm. The hotel manager gave us a solution, allowing us to cancel the Booking order and book with them directly. We find it unbelievable that there is such no bottom line and such bad faith, just for more than 100 US dollars. We had to stay in the parking...
Read moreThe hotel is an old Camino Real and it's age shows. The rooms are ok but many have connecting doors and you can literally hear every word your neighbors speak. At least they are clean. Food at the restaurant is mediocre at best. Breakfast was much better than dinner. Sadly they have an old horse drawn cart which a plaque claims is from the days of the camino real path. The plaque even says they constructed a pavillion to protect it yet it's roof has giant holes and the rain pours in.Value for money is poor and I likely will not stay again. One positive - the view from the restaurant is nice. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk from the Bodega Aurora which is fairly close to the bus terminal if you are coming from Guatemala via...
