I never expected it this way, I have stayed at several Holiday Inn Express in Mexico and in the U.S. and I have always had decent experiences (except one time in San Marcos, TX. where we had super noisy neighbors).
We arrived into this property around 930pm. We were only staying until next day at 5am because we were taking an early flight.
The room looked fine when we walked in. When I walked into the bathroom everything changed. The toilet was dirty, it looked like someone with diarrhea used it before we walked in. Then we found a small towel with some hair hanging off the tub curtain. I called reception and they sent a nice gentleman to clean the toilet. He did a good job even though he was the security guard of the hotel since all the house keepers were gone for the day.
Then my wife found a pair of dirty sucks on the floor. We went to have dinner and came back around 12pm. We found some candy stuck to one of the lamps on the side of the bed. I'm not finished yet, I started checking the pillows and sheets before going to bed and I found a blood stain at one of the pillows.
That's when we requested the front desk to get us a different room. Some guy came and helped us with the luggage and we were taken into a different room. This one was fine. We slept 4 hours and check out. The guy at the front desk apologized...
Read moreI stay at this hotel at least three times a year and four weeks ago while we were there staying we forgot a very distinct pillow that belonged to my wife. we called the following day after we left and they said that they had it and would keep it til we returned. when we arrived to pick it up they said to come back in the morning because the person who is the only one with the key where the belongings are kept had already left. I didn't get to speak to the person who had the key until 8 or 9 am when I was there at 7am only for me to be told that it was a mistake the pillow was no longer there. As far as the room we had the shower was not working correctly and the toilet was plugged. after this experience we most likely will not stay again unless something is done. the pillow was worth over 100.00 dollars so there is no way that it could have gotten confused with one of the...
Read moreThe hotel was fine, there were problems with the internet. It would be nice to just hook up to the internet with no problems.
Recently, most hotels in Mexico go for the cheap internet to save money. This is understandable, as long as it works.
Also, the business center was very modern, however, I had to change computers several times until my USB memory was recongnized.
Even after that, I was unable to print my documents. This was due to the wireless printer, not being recognized by the computer.
If you are going to offer these services they should work.
The room was comfortable, however, when the temperature reached its setting, the fan turned off. Even though there was a "Constant Fan" option on the control, I could not get it to work.
My slumber was greatly effected...
