Booked rooms in the Gobernador for its proximity to Centro and good TA reviews. Two rooms, a Habitacian Superior and the Habitacian Gobernador. Check in was friendly and efficient. We arrived at noon and check in is not until 3 PM but our rooms were ready so we enjoyed early access. Josephine, Silvia & Alex were very attentive to our needs helping with taxis, restaurant reservations and recommendations on what to see in Colima.||||About the Habitacian Gobernador. Large room high ceiling (15 feet), four 10 foot windows in the main room, one in the bathroom. The main room windows face the inner courtyard on one side and the garden on the other. Comfortably firm king bed, good linens, fridge (stocked with water, soft drinks and beer - for a charge), air conditioning, TV (no English channels), two luggage racks and a safe. Large bathroom with shower (no tub). The main room has a armoire containing the safe (its portable) and too few hangers (3), one chair at a writing desk, no in-room phone. There is no reading lamp bedside.||||About the Habitacian Superior. Smaller room with high ceiling, but big enough for a queen bed on the main level with a single bed in a loft over the bathroom. There is no window and the room is poorly lighted but the bathroom is well lighted. Nice size bathroom with shower only, air conditioning, fridge, TV, armoire with safe.||||The hotel has free Wi-Fi but it can be slow and at times not available. The rooms come with a good continental breakfast served in the inner patio or the garden, whichever you choose and at the time you wish. The main entrance to the building is always locked and you ring a bell at the door for admittance. We stayed 3 nights and were not disturbed by any outside noise. The hotel has two cats (Bali & Oruki). Bali is a very social animal who craves attention and is not shy. Give any indication of notice and you will be immediately dealing with a very friendly cat that demands attention. There is a small pool at the end of the garden which we did not use.||||Overall we enjoyed our stay and would...
Read moreI stayed for a week in this lovely Hotel Boutique in Colima in January 2013. Everything about it is absolutely charming. From the courtyard that has lemon and orange trees and a lot of sunshine, the lovely backyard and the wonderful colors and design of the hotel, its really a relaxing and nice place to stay. The rooms are all beautiful (the owner was kind enough to show me around) and you can see that all pieces of furniture were carefully hand picked, to the huge and comfortable beds with egyptian cotton linen, to the huge bronze sinks, beautiful paintings by local artists and all the other furniture in the rooms. ||||The owner and his wife were so friendly and attentionate! They showed me pictures of all the renovations they did to the hotel after buying this old house of a Governator (hence the name). Its really amazing all they did and how they give friendly and personal service to their guest. We chatted every day and you can see that they like to treat their guests in the best possible manner. They can even organize weddings, baptisms or other events in their courtyard!||||Finally, I ate at the hotel quite a few times as the food was delicious. Their tartare is out of this world, everything is very fresh, the margaritas are actually made from the oranges that grow in the tree in the courtyard and if you like whisky, the owner is quite a fan so I enjoyed many late night whisky tasting with him! Great times!||||Honestly, Ive never given an excellent rating in all aspects of a review, but this Hotel Boutique...
Read moreThe start ratting is for the staff attention , Martha , Luna , Cesar and an additional rep that I don’t remember their name.
Property is nice , rustic as obviously part of the building architecture . However small details that could easily be fixed and will bring an additional satisfaction to the stay .
Iron old , missing parts , the ironing board had been wet and the particle board falling apart and glad I put a towel on it to iron as it stained the towel and would have stained my clothes. I feel the cost of the stay most definitely warrants an immediate improvement on this .
And also some the small components in the bedroom such clocks an easily be updated and is not a mayor cost the business.
The place was clean and AC worked great , showers had plenty of hot water and pressure .
Doesn’t no offer food 🥘 service .
But if they would invest in a coffee maker and small pastries in the morning it would make most definitely more memorable for the guess.
The cats 🐈 🐈⬛ at the property bring a cute touch and they are...
