We were lucky enough to stay for a week in November at the Mar de Amores, about a half hour drive from the Manzanillo airport. What a gem! This small boutique hotel with 7 units is first class! High end finishes, very spacious, fully equipped kitchen, with six burner gas stove, dishwasher, washer, and dryer. There is also a high tech water filtering system, so the water is safe to drink from a special faucet in the kitchen. The air conditioning is super quiet and very effective. The bed is firm, but does not jiggle when my husband moved. Excellent Wi-Fi connection, which allowed both my husband and I to have video conferencing calls at the same time. The best though are the spectacular views! Wide sweeping ocean views, as well as a view over the green hills and coconut groves. We watched whales right from our room. The glass wall to our huge, covered balcony could be completely opened. The pool and deck area are fantastic. Everything is super clean and brand new looking. Definitely 5 Star! And the hosts were truly exceptional! From airport to pick up, to having groceries stocked up on arrival, to driving us, arranging boat trips, golfing, shopping, dentist appointment, and anything else we mentioned. They made us feel most welcome and pampered! We had some lovely walks along the quiet beach, and even watched baby turtles being released right in front of the hotel. The area seems very safe. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a vacation at a gorgeous and high-end accommodation with hosts that truly care, and a quiet, and beautiful, oceanfront location!

We drove down a sandy road leading to a long, relatively undeveloped beach on Isla Navidad. Located on the beach with the Pacific Ocean stretching out before us, Mar de Amores Hotel is an unexpectedly modern oasis surrounded by coconut and banana plantations and a scattering of low rise homes and hotels. This stunning seven room property, with it’s contemporary open plan design and constructed with local stone and materials, offers guests private patios along with a pool equipped with umbrellas and loungers. We spent our days whale watching, beach walking, and poolside lounging. Mar de Amores is on a remote beach, which is part of its appeal. There are two wonderful beach restaurants (International, Thai) within an easy walk. There is no major grocery store in the area. The energetic and helpful family who built and manage the hotel will organize your grocery delivery, from tequila to tomatoes to tortillas, bringing the goods right to your door. We can’t wait to return.

This place is truly a hidden gem—one of those rare finds that feels extra special from the moment you arrive.

The location is absolutely breathtaking, nestled along a pristine stretch of coastline with miles of untouched beach just waiting to be explored. It’s the kind of peaceful that soothes the soul, where the only sounds are the gentle crash of the waves, the occasional splash of manta rays leaping from the water, and maybe even a passing pod of whales. And the sunrises and sunsets? Simply unforgettable—vibrant colors painting the sky as the ocean reflects every breathtaking hue.

Adding to the magic is the stunning pool, the perfect place to relax and soak up the serenity. Whether you're floating under the warm sun or lounging with a drink in hand, it’s an experience that feels almost too good to be true.

Within a short five-minute stroll along the beach, you’ll find two fantastic restaurants, perfect for a delicious meal with an ocean view. And if you need to pick up any essentials, there’s a small but excellent grocery store just a 15-minute walk in the other direction.

The suites themselves are spacious and beautifully decorated, offering everything you need for a comfortable stay. The large deck is the perfect spot to take in those stunning ocean views and let the beauty of this place sink in.

And to top it all off, the staff and management are truly wonderful. They go above and beyond to make your stay special, offering thoughtful assistance every step of the way. Whether you're planning your visit or already soaking it all in, they’re always there to help with a warm smile.

It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left. We will definitely return to this...

Well I have to say the reviews are inflated and this is an honest review!!

At first blush you arrive to a beautiful newer small apartment building with a stunning view of the ocean. It is not signed and it is not obvious where to go to and there is no reception area or bar or restaurant so the hotel thing is a complete exaggeration. After speaking on the phone with the mgr owner as we never did meet?? A maid appeared and guided us to a nice room which was as described. We had a lot of questions and the Mexican maid was not of help and the manager answered a few and went dark.

The room was not 5 star clean but 3 star and there were many maintenance items like towel rack hanging loose, dishwasher askew, hot water coming out of the osmosis machine, dirty towels, sticky floors and cupboards. etc...very 3 star stuff. I also could not get a receipt from the manager.

The beach is a flat good walking one but completely unsafe to go into the water. The area is quiet except for the rumble of waves and the...
