A lovely place to relax once you make your way through a rather rough drive. Bit far away from everything, but you’re also sort of paying for the isolation. Supply runs are a good excuse to visit the nearby beachtowns of Barra de Navidad & Melaque. Suites are very Americanized, with everything you need to leave the condo the least amount possible. Gym has old-school equipment but it seems relatively well taken care of. Golf course nearby if you’re into that.

A really nice place, beautiful location and very quiet as you are removed from the towns. Rooftop BBQs and patios are a fantastic part where you can see some fantastic sunrise/sunsets. Absolutely perfect for families.

OCEANFRONT! Fantastic quiet location with a great Pool Bar and Store. Sit on your deck and watch whales go by. Help release Turtles at sunset.

We stayed at the Playa Grande for a month from mid-January to mid-February, 2020. This complex is a little out of the way and there is not a lot of things to do within walking distance. However, the communities of Barra de Navidad and Melaque are a 15 – 20 minute drive away and there are plenty of things to see and do in both communities. Once we settled in, we found that we went to town every 2 to 3 days and were content to stay within the complex for the remainder of our stay. The cost of a taxi was 250 pesos each way which was reasonable and as a result we didn’t need to rent a car. There is a real sense of community here. We met a lot of people (Canadians mostly) around the pool and everyone, both owners and other renters, were friendly and helpful. The Manager (Jaime) and Assistant Manager (Tania) are both fluently bilingual and were always happy to assist whenever required. There is a small grocery store on site that has a fairly large selection of goods and they will bring in other items from their main store in Melaque upon request. The prices were very reasonable. There is a pool bar/restaurant on site (Benny’s) that is open until 6:00 pm. Good quality food at a very reasonable price. I do believe that Benny could win an award for his hamburger! The surf here is BIG. No swimming allowed in the ocean in front of the complex but the pools are very, very nice (there are 3 of them). The landscaping is lovely and the complex is kept very clean. There are barbeques assigned to each building and they are cleaned daily. Housekeeping is available for a small charge and they do a great job. Overall, I enjoyed our stay and should I return to this part of Mexico I would definitely stay at Playa...

This is a unique beachfront property on an endless stretch of pristine beach. Available rentals are owner units rented when they are not enjoying the great weather and property. Playa Grande Condo supports check-in and check out and can provide assistance if you need ot. . ||The property is meticulously maintained. Each unit overlooks the pool with almost all units having a view of the ocean. ||In high season there is a swim up bar / restaurant that serves breakfast, appies and small plate meals and great cocktails and margaritas. The on-site store is well stocked and you can request they bring in specific items. | | 2 beachfront restaurants are a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive. A further 7 minutes drives takes you to the town of Colima which has sushi, pizza and several local restaurants as well as the Grande Isla Navidad Resort with formal dining options. From Colima you can take a water taxi for 50 pesos and in 10 minutes are in the town of Barra de Navidad. ||Depending on what you want from your vacation you could survive without a car. We didn't initially rent a car but found we needed one and rented one for the remainder of...

If you want to relax completely and have a different experience from the all inclusive vacation, this is the place. It is in a very remote area with no other businesses to be seen, meaning the beach is all yours for miles. The staff are helpful with just about anything you need. Monica arranged transportation for us to Barra and offered to assist with anything else we needed for excursions. |What you see on the resort website is accurate and true. Benny runs the small pool bar and restaurant and does a great job.|The majority of the guests during our 10 day stay seemed to be owners or their families. Some are here for the winter or split their stay over a number of months. They were all welcoming and gave us lots of tips and insights about the area.|If you are coming here for the first time, especially at night, have a map of the buildings or you will find it very difficult to find your suite. There is no one at the main desk at night, only someone at the convenience store and that is only until around 7 pm. He helped us find our suite which was great. |The Playa Grande Condominium Wil be on our short list of places...
