We just got back from a week at Playas Paraiso, and it is truly the most amazing vacation any of us have ever had. We were two couples, and no photo does the beauty of this incredible place justice. If you're looking for beautiful, private beaches, clear green-blue water, with the temperature absolutely perfect, and so safe and swimmable that little toddlers can play in it, yet you can paddle or kayak out to the open ocean in a matter of minutes, and attentive service from wonderful, genuine people, do not look anywhere else but Playas Paraiso. It surpassed all of our expectations. ||||We swam, hiked, paddle-boarded, kayaked, went on an unforgettable boat ride, ate amazing, fresh cuisine prepared for us at every meal, slept with screen doors that let in the gentle breeze and the sound of the waves. We could have gone snorkeling, but ran out of time. We went hiking and ended up at points over the open ocean with breathtaking views, crashing waves against rocks and islands, and amazing sunsets. And one night, Juan, the owner, and his wonderful staff made us dinner on the beach to celebrate a birthday. It was spectacular. Candles partially dug into the sand on the beach, a candle-lit table looking out over the water at sunset, an incredible dinner, and a birthday cake, topped with those candles that don’t blow out, haha!||||We stayed in Casa Tauro, the house, and it is stunning. Open to fresh air, every room with a jaw-dropping view of the beach, bay, trees, and islands, a gorgeous pool that is on the main level and is part of the main house, natural rock used as part of the wall, great open patios attached to each room, perfectly decorated: classy, elegant, but casual and comfortable and simple. Karina, the sweet woman who took care of us every day, is a wonderful cook with her fresh, tasty food that perfectly suits this heavenly place. But it is the owner, Juan Lopez, who really makes this piece of paradise so very special, and who takes it to the next level. He is the perfect host - genuine, kind, fun, hospitable, honest - a quality person whom we wish to keep in our lives as a friend. He is a very special person, and he has a very special place. He keeps it real and natural, and lets the best of nature that is Playas Paraiso take over and change you.||||Thank you Juan, Karina, Kiesha (sp?), and the rest of the wonderful staff, from the bottom of our hearts. You all are part of that dream come true of what paradise is really like. We cannot wait to come back, and we WILL come back. You and your beautiful Playas Pariaso are...
Read moreAfter several stays in the Careyes area we found this amazing property just by chance. It is one of the Mexican Pacific Coast's best kept secrets. This small hotel property offers everything one needs for a relaxed, serene, beautiful vacation getaway. The hotel rooms sit between two picture perfect, little coves. The water was so clear and calm we felt like we were in the Caribbean or on a Greek Island - only better!. The hospitality here was so warm and genuine it reminded us of why we love Mexico so much. The proprietor, Juan Ernesto, happened to be on property and he shared with us the history of his family's land and took us for a tour of some of the property. There are incredible views everywhere. The sweet Mexican couple who help run "PP" were very kind and provided attentive, efficient service. Karina's homemade Mexican cuisine was fresh and delicious. What's fantastic is that you can dabble in what this area has to offer (Polo, an Art Gallery, fine dining at Playa Rosa and the other Careyes restaurants) and then retreat back to this unpretentious, barefoot-relaxed, slice of heaven.||We especially enjoyed paddleboarding and swimming the two coves, hanging out on the daybeds drinking margaritas and reading, getting massages, and just appreciating the nature and quiet.||The rooms were clean, neat and comfortable with Mexican accents. We loved the retro vibe to the hotel property. It really felt like we were just lucky enough to be let in on a well-guarded family secret - but the beauty is that Juan Ernesto has opened it up for all to enjoy!||Thank you Juan Ernesto - we can't...
Read moreWe went here after our wedding in Puerto Vallarta for our honeymoon. We rented a Suburban for 6 of us, and traveled south on 200 for about 2 1/2 hours. It was a beautiful drive. We had planned to stay in the Casa Abuelos, but after Hurricane Patricia they were not ready for guests quite yet. Juan the owner so graciously upgraded us to the Casa Tauro. The house is so beautiful and unique. Every room is very large and the views are unbelievable. The infinity pool is amazing, it looks like it is actually part of the ocean. We paddle boarded and kayaked out to the rock island where there is unbelievable snorkeling. It felt like we had found some deserted island. The price includes 3 meals a day and the staff cook 3 large meals for you. They were able to work with our diet restrictions, one veggie and gluten free person. The area is so beautiful even after the hurricane came through, it's crazy how quickly things were up and running and the jungle was getting green again. I can't say enough good things about Playas Paraiso and I can't...
