This is a very special place. From the moment I stepped onto the property it felt like rest and healing was wrapping around me and this feeling continued throughout my stay there and lingers still. All of the staff is so welcoming, kind and loving. They clearly love this place and its mission of healing. ||The casitas that we stayed in were so beautiful and comfortable. They provided luxurious feeling shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even bug repellent that all smelled lovely. My bed was so comfortable, with multiple pillows and cozy linens. I was thrilled to be able to lie on my bed and look out through the skylight to the stars at night while listening to crickets outside. During the day I could look directly through trees into the jungle where there were so many birds to see and hear. The water pressure in the shower was great and fluffy towels and robes were provided to use for the shower and pool.||The lovely pool is so refreshing and beautiful! It is surrounded by a stand of bamboo and other trees providing some shade for those who don't want direct sun. There are comfortable loungers and other seating around the pool and hot tub. The pool and solar powered jetted hot tub are filled with salt treated water from the land, no chlorine here. Going from the 74 degree pool to the hot tub and back was invigorating and refreshing. ||All around the property are paths where there are so many trees, bushes, flowers and medicinal plants. Many benches are scattered around giving space for private reflection, listening and watching birds, or a conversation. There is a grounding path meant to be walked barefoot. The gazebo is a wonderful place for group gatherings and overlooks the pool. Peaceful music plays around the grounds during the day, seeming to come from the earth, but must be hidden speakers. It adds to the peaceful ambience.||There are massage and other body work services offered by skilled practitioners who all seem to be intuitive healers. Everyone in our group who experienced their offerings raved about how much more than a physically healing experience it was. ||The food - oh my goodness the food! The menu was created uniquely for us with the dietary needs of our group in mind so it was all gluten free, vegan, and free of anything we told them we couldn't have such as bell peppers which give me heartburn. That might sound boring and bland but you would be very wrong! The food was so delicious, fresh, beautiful, and had all of us moaning with pleasure at every meal. Even those who don't typically eat gluten free and vegan. There was plenty of food, multiple courses, lots of fresh water filtered to be safe to drink, tea, and incredible desserts. The kitchen staff was so inventive and creative and plated the foods beautifully then presented them each, describing what we were going to be eating. Our group experienced a Temazcal ceremony—a profound rebirth held by the powerful, connected, and kind shaman, Marciano. We also had access to daily one-on-one healing treatments with true masters of their crafts, each session beginning with the grounding warmth of the steam room. Every woman in our group left feeling transformed, held, and seen.||But what makes Equilibrium truly exceptional is the people. We are STILL basking in the love from our time at Equilibrium. We run a spiritual yoga retreat center in Montana, and usually, we host retreats at home. But we decided to take our winter retreat to a warmer destination this year and chose Equilibrium as our tropical sanctuary. We looked at every photo we could find, talked with the owners (John and Priscilla) at length, and read reviews. We knew it was going to be good, but we were unprepared for what we discovered. ||The care taken in every single detail of this jungle resort is over the top. There is so much love put into every single space, every offering - from the comfy fireplace lounge to the ceremonies we requested, to a simple bonfire made into the most beautiful altar. The hot and cold mineral pools invited us to rejuvenate daily, the yoga shala provided a meditative space for practice, and the FOOD - life changing. I've spent every day since returning attempting to recreate some little semblance of the nourishing food that was lovingly served to our group. It's no easy feat! ||The accommodations are so beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable and very well kept. You have everything you need. I slept like a queen in her palace. The grounds are absolutely incredible - impeccably maintained and adorned with the most beautiful details. And the spa - the practitioners who come here to practice offer some of the most dynamic and healing work I have ever experienced. ||The staff at Equilibrium are all lovely, attentive people and so on top of every detail.
