Go to sleep and wake up with the sound of chirping birds and crashing waves! I can’t rate this place higher. It’s a 10!! It’s a small mexican, secluded resort. Made up of approximately 16 independent suits. All with a marvelous view. You go to sleep and wake up to the sound of chirping birds and crashing ocean waves. Suits all equipped. Ok… no WiFi, but who needs wifi when you are surrounded by this paradise! Huge property with several beaches from where to pick and choose. Nicely kept. Wherever you see there are gardens , beautiful flowers and vegetation. The service you get at this place is amazing. It’s all a very friendly staff. They try and succeed in making your stay the most comfortable one. A special thanks to Nazario Medina and Pablo !! They both went above and beyond to fulfill our every need.Lalo , the resort’s driver and tour guide is hilarious ; he is also a good photographer. They all made our stay just perfect. Here at The Alamandas , every problem has a solution! “Our house is yours” , literally. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!! I’m already looking forward to our next visit.

Welcome to the Hotel California. Creepy road, creepy hotel, creepy hostess that eavesdrop on your conversations. Chambermaids that enter your room without permission and rummage through your things. Property is locked down and lights turned off at night. You are all alone with them on acres of land. It takes a least 20 minutes to find civilization. No soap. No cabaña boys to set up your palapa. Staff huddled together complaining about how few guests arrive and those who do come head out as fast as they can. Polluted beach with dead fish and crab carcasses. No WiFi. No cellphone signal. The only way to call out is to sit by their offices. Rooms with CD players that have no CDs. Join them for dinner: Fresh Nopales from their garden - $28, sauce $7. 1/4 Corona Beer $7 (Who drinks the rest?). … Almost got stuck in the brush trying to leave the property. The gates are locked and you can only leave if the guard gets permission from the owner. You can check out any time you want … but … 🎵🎸Worst stay ever! Traveler beware!

Las Alamandas is a truly exceptional boutique resort on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. I took a 4-day solo trip there in April and was blown away by the beauty, tranquility, and majesty of the place. The resort itself is colorful and gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and lovely, the pool overlooking the ocean is truly magnificent, the food at the restaurant is absolutely delicious, and every single staff member was professional, attentive, and so kind. During my stay I was the ONLY guest at the resort, so I had the entire magical place to myself. I mostly relaxed by the pool, but I also enjoyed a jeep tour of the property, had a wonderful massage, went horse-back riding on the beach, and watched the sunset at "Sunset Point". While Las Almandas is not exactly cheap, it's worth every penny and the experience is truly one-of-a-kind! I highly recommend spending a few nights (or more!) at this wonderful place.

When we booked our 4 night stay at Las Alamandas we noticed the 5 star prices but we missed the 4 start rating. What a disappointment it was to visit such a beautiful location to find that indeed the prices are certainly 5 star but the service is 2 star at best. Very low occupancy (us and one other couple) – great for privacy, worrying for sustainability). Friendly staff – but friendly does not mean efficient/effective.|Let´s start from the beginning:|Nice Chevy Suburban picking us up at the airport, water offered and clean car, friendly driver.|Arrive at the hotel, beautiful location and then downhill from there:|We had booked Isabel Master. Amazing entrance with a view of the ocean from the nicely appointed social area, which holds the mini bar, right across from the foyer. Then we are told that in a hotel with only one other room occupied, there will be other guests arriving next day and they will be staying in the room above us and sharing the common entrance. With privacy being a major selling point, that seems nonsensical when the hotel resort is next to empty. If the newcomers specifically booked that room, then let us know in advance so we can be moved (even at extra cost) if we choose. And Isabel Master’s minibar cannot be secured as there is no lock on the door to this “private area”. As we were to find out, there is a lot of pricey stuff in the mini bar so control on access is important.|Whilst on the subject of the mini bar, “coffee making facilities” but no tea, no sugar, and milk has to be ordered. The only way to heat water is in the coffeemaker so if you like your tea tasting of coffee…. No ice, and then we arrive at the water issue. How is it possible that you have to pay for the drinking water at all, never mind at the exorbitant rate at $5 per bottle plus 34% tax and service? A small bottle is provided for free with the turn down service but that is not enough in a resort where you are told not to drink the tap water. So provide filtered water, no need for branded water. We have stayed in some really out of the way locations and drinking water has always been provided free of charge. In a tropical beach resort if you are going to charge for water, tell your guests to stock up at the local shop before arrival!|The charging for water is a sign of what seems to be a policy at Las Alamandas – there is a charge for everything “extra” and everything is considered extra.|The Welcome letter in our room was accompanied by one addressed to someone else, maybe a previous occupant. Quality control at the resort was lacking and this was the first example.|Off to the bar in the evening for a drink before dinner and we had to wait close to 15 minutes for 2 beers, and we were the only people there. It seems there were no beers in the bar and the barman had to go and find some. On our last night, our two beers order came faster but this time we were told they only had one cold beer! |Unfortunately the food was subpar throughout. We were allowed/encouraged to order off menu, even from the room service menu, but these standards are not what we expect from a hotel charging these prices. Our first meal was described as juicy tenderloin but it was neither juicy nor tender. The other offerings during our stay were generally poor (other than the chicken soup which was delicious!).|Towels provided for the beach picnic were stained and thin with loose threads, as if due to age. And watch out, it is c. $90 per visit for set up/transport to/from the beach.|When we came to settle up an in-room massage had been overcharged. When queried we were told it was the tax but we showed the in-room price list that negated that response. We were then told it was an old price list and a refund was processed. Had we not insisted, this error would have remained and it made us doubt the rest of the bill.|All prices at the resort included 16% tax and 18% service. Tax we cannot do anything about but some Mexico based friends told us that a “compulsory” service charge cannot be included. We have not researched this in detail but our advice to the resort would be if the service charge is discretionary, say so. If not, make sure the service warrants such a sizeable compulsory percentage. On our visit, it certainly did not.|Our ride back to airport was in a different, somewhat tired-looking Suburban with an empty bracket where the rearview mirror should be. No water provided. The Sales Manager, who had met with us twice during our 3 day stay to discuss the issues we had raised, must have known that there had been problems with the bill close out the evening before but chose not to meet us again before departure. That was disappointing too.||In conclusion, we felt that Las Alamandas, despite its wonderful location, is not ageing well. 5 star prices with 34% added and everything priced as an “extra” left us feeling taken advantage of and the fact that the hotel wasn’t busy gave us the impression that the bare minimum was being done to meet a standard that is inconsistent with...

I don’t even know where to start because Las Alamandas is that special. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places, but this one? It’s in a league of its own. Imagine having an entire luxury resort pretty much to yourself, with private beaches, stunning sunsets, and a staff that makes you feel like family. That’s exactly what my experience was like.||||First off, the privacy is unreal. It felt like I was on my own private island, but with all the comforts of a five-star resort. The entire property is massive (2,000 acres!), but they only have a handful of suites, so you barely see other guests. During my stay, I think I saw other people maybe twice, and even then, it was just in passing. It was like the world slowed down, and all that mattered was the sound of the waves and the breeze through the palm trees.||||Now, let’s talk about the real MVP of my trip—Victor. I don’t even know his official title, but he was everywhere, making sure everything was perfect. He took care of everything before I even had to ask. And the chefs? Absolute angels. I’m vegan, and they went above and beyond to make sure I had delicious, fresh meals straight from the resort’s gardens. You can taste the difference when food is that fresh.||||One of my favorite moments was the sunset picnic on the hilltop. It was straight out of a movie—perfectly set up, breathtaking views, and just pure magic. And then there were the donkeys! Yes, adorable donkeys roaming around, adding to the whole fairytale vibe.||||But the moment that really sealed my love for this place? My luggage zipper completely broke right before I had to leave for the airport. Just when I thought I was out of luck, the housekeeper, a couple of maintenance guys, and a few other staff members basically came to the rescue. They literally took my suitcase apart and put it back together like it was no big deal. Who does that?! That level of care and kindness is just who they are here.||||I also have to mention Isabel Goldsmith, the owner. Listening to her talk about her vision for eco-sustainability and protecting this beautiful place made me appreciate it even more. You can tell that everything here is done with so much thought and love.||||Honestly, no pictures or videos do this place justice. You just have to experience it for yourself. If you want total relaxation, luxury without the crowds, and the kind of service that makes you feel like royalty, book this place immediately. I’m already counting down the days until I...

Las Alamandas is truly a 5 star experience. Upon arriving at Las Alamandas, the first thing that caught our eyes was the view of the fountain set against the ocean backdrop as we inched towards the coast. We were then met by hotel staff that took care of our bags and gave us a quick tour of our room, while we sipped our custom welcome drinks.||The room was amazing. An updated bathroom with a dual shower, dual sink, and enough room to do cartwheels in (we didn’t because ouch!). The nights in the super comfy beds were accompanied by the sounds of the ocean… pure serenity. The AC unit also kept the room ice cold at night, even in the middle of August. We opened our doors to a direct view of the ocean, never more than a min walk away. Our favorite part of the trip was breakfast on the patio overlooking the lawn, palm trees, and the Pacific. Truly paradise.||The staff was beyond excellent. From the moment we arrived everyone we encountered was professional, very well mannered, and genuinely cared about making our stay as perfect as possible.||The food was exquisite. All of it is grown/caught locally, if not on property, and is as fresh as it gets. The sauces accompanying the food were Michelin star quality. The ceviche is a must. It’s hard not to order every meal.||The hotel offers several amenities and catered experiences. A private meal watching the sunset, a day on your own private beach, a massage by the ocean, and more. We were met the first night with a special surprise from the staff for our honeymoon. The attention to details was impressive.||We can’t recommend Las Alamandas enough. It was absolute paradise for our honeymoon. Private, secluded, luxurious, and simply stunning. We can’t...
