Mama Chuy Hotel & Villas — Hotel in Jalisco

I love this place, my family has been coming here for years, and we always have a great experience. This visit we felt and saw the downfall of the hotel. It is in major need of some TLC! Seems like ever since the original owner passed away, the new owners don't really care about the place, which is disappointing. The pool needs a complete renovation and major cleaning. Also adding some lighting around the pool would add a modern touch. We also left behind an electronic device and when we called, they gave me the run around on finding it. We did get it back, but it took almost 2 days of back and forth calls and telling them we can track it. As much as I love this place, I will most likely never stay here again, the pricing was not...

Upon arrival, we were impressed with a beautiful large pool. Our room faced the pool and the hot setting sun. The room was sparsely decorated; there was a small kitchen with minimal utensils and the drinking water was provided in a large bottle which was not even in a holder so that getting water out of it would mean tipping it gingerly which would be difficult for a woman my age...76 years old.||||There were no other guests there! The walk to the highway was about 1/4 mile (or more) down a very steep hill and nothing like stores or restaurants at the bottom of the hill anyway. Very uninviting. The hotel seems to be abandoned or lost I time. Everything seems to be from the 80s or so, it is not clean as a hotel is supposed to be. The sheets and towels are questionably clean and the room's ventilation is poor. We got a villa with a disgusting stained couch I wouldn't even sit on. The price quality ratio is non correspondent since it is not a cheap hotel. Nice staff and there is breakfast included which was delicious, but that was it. They charged half the fee upon my arrival and you have to pay the other half cash since they don't have the terminal to take credit. ...
